Chapter 7

Seven

The cab reached the mansion, where Isabelle was supposed to live, in no time. Isabelle dozed off a bit, exhausted. The driver, smirking halted the car gently making sure that he dosen't disturb her rest. "Miss, we are here." He called her. Isabelle opened her closed eyes slowly in wonder. Didn't we take off just now?. She looked out of the window and found a huge, extravagant mansion settled before her. Though, the mansion looked quite old fashioned, It's haunted aura gave Isabelle a jerk. She came out of the cab carefully and turned to pay the driver, the cab fare but when she turned, the cab and the driver were nowhere to be found. They simply disappeared in a fraction of second.

Am I mentally ill?...

She turned back, towards the mansion, now and found the mansion standing in front of her.

...Or not?

She opened the gate of the mansion which was like a spearman of the army soldiers. When she moved on, she was welcomed by three horrific demons fountain. She went nearer to the fountain and touched one of those demons. Suddenly, It's eyes moved. Startled, Isabelle backed away. A Handful of water splashed on her, revealing a part of her neck skin under the dress. Stupified, she decided to move inside. Isabelle, didn't know if she came to the correct address, as she never thought that she would get a chance to live in such a huge mansion. She rummaged through her sling bag, and found the card given by Ms.Natalie. "Sakamaki Mansion" she spelled out the words. So, I indeed have to live in a mansion. She was shocked yet, excited.

She knocked at the main door of the mansion, "Excuse me?". There was no response. She knocked again, still no response. Suddenly, the door crack opened. "I am coming in." She said as she opened the door and went inside. It was dark, almost nothing could be seen inside.

Suddenly, she fell down, as she was tripped by the bloody red carpet, margined with gold. She could see nothing, and tried to stand up. She fell to her knees again, maybe because she sprained her ankle. She gently touched her knees that began to bleed by that fall over that hard carpet. Suddenly, she heard a thud sound.

Isabelle quickly stood up, scared. Her ankles hurtled her, yet she moved towards the direction from where the thud sound came from. She entered the main hall and there was light. Finally, I am not blind anymore. She sighed. "Tch." A noise echoed in that silent room. Isabelle quickly saw down. "What." She was surprised to see a man lying on the floor. Am I witnessing a crime now?
