Chapter 4

Perry's eyes fluttered open; his whole body was sour; he blinked twice as if remembering himself. He quickly got up from the bed, grabbed his clothes, and put them on even if his body was arching, before leaving the room. He makes sure he covers himself fully before leaving the hotel.

After he was some distance away he called Percy.

"Percy please help me delete the camera footage of this morning and last night"

"Sure"

"Thanks," He said, disconnecting the call. He boarded a car that got him home.

When he arrived home he met an angry Percy

"I can explain"

"It's not needed, at least you remembered about your work today, go get ready"

"Thanks," Perry said and rushed to his room. The clothes he was going to wear were already on his bed; He smiled when he saw them.

He took his bathrobe and went for a shower. After He had showered and applied the necessary deodorant, he put on his clothes and went downstairs.

"You're finally done, Let's head out," He said standing up for the couch

"What car for today?" Perry asked, looking at the pile of keys in the drawer.

"Just pick any key there"

"Okay," Perry said, closing his eyes and picking any key. The key he picked was a duo, which belonged to the twin power bike.

They got to the garage, climbed on their bike, and rode off. They arrived at the office just in time. Yes both of them worked in the same place.

THE OFFICE

They both walked into the office only to be welcomed by a rowdy scene. They both had worked in the company for years, and every day seemed to be normal. But today was so different.

Today noticed a peculiar buzz in the air. Colleagues whispering to each other, their eyes darting towards the closed door of the boss’s office on the fifth floor.

Perry, noticing the weird vibe around, asked Percy, “What’s the hell is happening?”

“I’m as confused as you,” Percy, who was already having a bad feeling, answered.

They both ignored the movement and continued walking to their cubicles.

“Did you know that boss is returning today?” A female colleague said to her friend, causing Perry and Percy, who overheard them, to stop in their tracks.

“Really? Rumors have it that he is Lucifer”

“No, the older workers here told me that he is very vile, wicked, and cruel. But there’s one sure thing is that he is very handsome and hot” Another female worker said. Percy quickly dragged Perry out of there.

“What the hell was that all about” Perry complained

“You know I have never seen the boss but you as his secretary must have seen him”

“You’re joking with me Percy since I started working here, I haven’t even seen him before”

“What!”

“Yeah, don’t even ask me how I work. I send my every work to his assistant”

“This is more serious than I thought. Okay, since We both haven’t seen him before, we need to be careful; remember, do not offend someone. We are not meant to offend,” Percy warned seriously.

“Okay, copy that. I just remembered that I have to send an important document to his office, talk later” Perry said and hurried off.

Perry went to his cubicle, picked up the documents, and went to his office. When Perry got to the CEO's door, he opened it directly because he thought no one was inside

But to his surprise, he saw a figure standing in front of the show glass with his back facing him. Perry stopped, confused about the next step to take. He looked at His back view and he felt déjà vu.

He knew he had seen such a domineering back before. He knew he couldn’t act like he didn’t see him because his presence was commanding attention. He continued with the flow. He dropped the file on the desk, and at that moment, Lucas barged in.

“MR Owen, I couldn’t get any information about him. The surveillance camera video last night was deleted”

“Stop the search. I met an interesting person the moment I arrived in Thailand,” He commanded, and Perry, who had long forgotten, was surprised; he now remembered where he saw that domineering back.

He prayed that his presence would continue to be ignored, but his prayer wasn’t answered.

"Oh, Mr. Perry, I didn't see you there," Lucas said, noticing his presence.

"It's okay Mr. Lucas, you surprised me. I must welcome you back Mr Lucas"

"There's no need to be so formal; it was a last-minute decision. Oh right, this is Mr. Owen, your boss"

"Mr. Owen, I'm very sorry for my rude behavior earlier," Perry apologized, giving a complete bow.

Owen who was busy in his world, finally looked at Perry who was still bowing " It's okay, you can stop bowing now"

Perry, hearing his boss's instructions, quickly stood up straight. He looked at his so-called boss; he still couldn't believe the man last night was him.

Owen noticed his secretary's gaze on him and turned to look at him. Owen was surprised He had never looked at him since he stepped in, but when he saw that nerdy face, he couldn't help but find it familiar.

He raised his left brow, and Perry quickly lowered his eyes

"I will take my leave now," Perry said and left the office.

The moment Perry closed the door behind him, he quickly took his phone and called Percy. The phone rang for a while before connecting.

"Hey, why the call"

"I need to speak to you," Perry said, sounding all serious.

"You sound like I'm far away bro. We are working in the same company"

"Oh right, let's meet in the office cafeteria"

"Sure," Percy said and disconnected the call.
