In a dark office, the telephone on the table rang, and someone picked it up.
"Boss, the target was already killed before we got there."
"Did you find out who did it?"
"No, boss."
"Hmm, interesting; keep on searching. Don't let them take on any missions for the time being," he said and disconnected the call.
He relaxed his back in his chair, crossing his legs and folding his arms, and there was this mischievous light in his eyes.
"How's my schedule today?"
"Your schedule isn't that tight; you're free after six in the evening," the person beside him said.
"That's good. I think it's time for us to go back to the main branch. We'll move by seven," he said, standing up.
He walked to the side, picked up the remote on the wall, pressed a button, and the curtain opened, showing a
Scenery of New York City.
The sun's rays shone on his face, revealing a handsome, devilish face.
This was no other person than Owen Harris, the richest man in Thailand.
He's known for his vile ways in business. He's every girl's dream, but he doesn't like being close to the opposite sex. Rumours have it that he's gay, but no one knows if it's true.
"Boss, you have a video conference meeting with the executive branch in Europe."
"Okay," he said, leaving his office straight to the conference room. He sat down in his chair, which was facing the big flat-screen TV.
The TV screen lit up, showing the conference room in Europe with all the executives present.
"Mr. Owen, I have to say that the deal you brought up was quite satisfying," Mr. Ethan, the head of the executive, said.
Owen smiled and said, "Mr. Ethan, I'm glad that you like it."
"Mr. Owen, we will be happy to tell you that we will work hand in hand with you, and we will be waiting for more promising deals like this," he said, and the executives nodded their heads in agreement.
"Thank you for accepting my deal, and I promise you there will be more deals like this in the future," he said. The executives smiled.
"Since we both have settled this matter, we won't take much of your time. It was nice doing business with you, Mr. Owen," Mr. Ethan said.
"The pleasure is mine, Mr. Ethan," he said, and the call disconnected.
Owen looked at Lucas, who was standing beside the door. "Lucas, tell me, since you're my assistant; should I trust these old men?"
"Boss, I think we should trust them for the time being because this is our first branch in Europe, and we need them as our pillar for now. But when we have gotten a strong foundation, we can cut them off."
"Hmm, I thought of that, but I wanted to make it faster. We should make all their businesses go bankrupt before stepping in," Owen said with an evil grin.
"Boss, I still think we should stick with my plan."
"Really, why?"
"If we stick to my plan, it will save us a lot of trouble and money spending."
"Okay, if you say so. What's next in my schedule?"
"You have a meeting with every department head."
"Okay, after that?"
"Erm, okay, you have a scheduled dining plan with Mr. Robert and his daughter, and that's all."
"Hmm, looks like I can't postpone it again. How many minutes remaining before the next meeting?" he said, adjusting his tie.
"Five more minutes," he checked his time and answered.
"Hmm, move it forward. I want to see them here in two minutes," he said, tapping his fingers on the table.
"Yes, boss," Lucas said, leaving the conference room.
After two minutes, all the department heads were present in the conference room with sweaty and uneasy faces.
They were all wondering what they did to this devil to make him move the meeting forward.
Owen looked at all of their expressions before starting the meeting.
"Give me the reports of the projects," he said, and they passed it to Lucas instead; Lucas placed it in front of him.
He opened the reports one after the other, reading through them. Everyone present was praying that he wouldn't find anything wrong with them.
He paused for a while and looked at their faces before continuing to read the reports.
After some minutes, he rested his back in his chair, closing his eyes for a few seconds.
Immediately he did that, all the department heads were petrified. They all lowered their heads, crossing their fingers, praying in their hearts.
He reopened his eyes, and there was this icy look in them, and all the department heads knew that it was over for them.
"It looks like I'm paying you for free. What's with these reports? What with the designs? They are not fashionable enough. What about the colours? They are too dull," he said, looking at the head of the design department.
"The financing department, just to make out the budget of things, you're already making a lot of mistakes," he said, throwing the report away.
He kept on mentioning their mistakes one by one. Everyone present in the conference room kept quiet; they didn't even dare to breathe.
"I want you all to redo all these projects again, and you are dismissed," he said coldly. Everybody quickly packed their documents and left the conference room.
He pinched between his brows, standing up and leaving the conference room, and Lucas followed him.
They left the building to the parking lot.
Which restaurant did he pick?" He asked when he was inside the car.
"Your restaurant boss"
"Okay, that's great, tell them to prepare the private helicopter, will move immediately after the dinner"
"Yes, boss," Lucas said, closing the door. He walked to the driver's side, started the ignition, and drove off.
Inside a VIP room in the Silver Star restaurant, Owen was busy chatting with Mr Robert that he didn't notice when his daughter exchanged his drink
"Mr Owen, why don't we make a toast" Mr Robert said raising his glass and Owen agreed raising his glass
"A toast to our successful collaboration," Mr Robert said, drinking his wine, and Owen drank his too.
After some hours, Owen checked his time on his wristwatch, and it was six on the dot.
"Mr. Robert, I'm sorry I won't be able to accompany you for the rest of the day," Owen apologized, standing up.
"Mr Owen, what's the problem are you alright?" Mr Robert asked, giving his daughter a sign.
"Mr Robert, I'm alright. I just have an unfinished business to take care of"
"Okay, Mr Owen, if you say so, Mia escort Mr Owen out," Mr Robert said to his daughter.
" It's okay; there is no need for that, Mr. Robert; my assistant is already outside waiting for me," Owen said, leaving the room.
Immediately, he closed the door and held Lucas for support.
"Take me to the helicopter immediately"
"But boss your condition," Lucas said.
"I'm fine, just take me to the helicopter," He said
"Okay, boss," Lucas said, helping him to the elevator. When they entered the elevator Lucas pressed the button with no number.
The elevator opened and Lucas helped him into the helicopter...
"Which restaurant did he pick?"
