Episode 4

Inside the room, the atmosphere was incredibly tense. The senior executives were gathered, all awaiting direction from the man now seated at the head of the table, Dimitrei Uvarov.

Thalia was also in the room, although she sat in a corner, trying not to be too conspicuous.

She wanted to stay in the background, avoiding any trouble that might arise if she was too visible.

Dimitrei began the meeting with a serious conversation. He explained the company's situation in detail, reflecting his deep understanding of the business.

Every word that came out of his mouth was an important point to be considered by everyone in the room.

Thalia felt lucky to be able to listen to this discussion even just as a spectator because, so far, her role had not been needed in the conversation.

She felt inspired by Dimitrei's dedication and knowledge of the company. She wanted to learn more and maybe one day could become a leader like Dimitrei, even though it was impossible because her father's company had been taken over by someone else.

The meeting progressed with increasing intensity. Dimitrei Uvarov made decisions that would shape the future of the company.

No one dared to oppose him, because his courage and decisiveness in taking difficult steps had been proven to produce extraordinary results.

Until finally, Mr. John called Thalia to present the figures compiled in the company's general ledger report list, which she was the one who organized and arranged.

"Thalia, it's your turn," whispered John, who was in front of Thalia.

"Hmm, I'm ready," she whispered back.

Dimitrei stared intently at Thalia who was sitting at the far corner table. The man was already sitting at the end of the table, his body leaning back in his large chair.

Thalia stood up and walked confidently forward to deliver the financial report presentation, which was the most crucial part of this meeting.

When it came to work, Thalia would transform into someone serious and competent in this field.

The woman sprang into action in front, showing intricate tables full of numbers and charts of achievements through the projector.

Her hand held a laser pointer to help her point to the numbers she wanted to explain to the meeting participants, especially the big boss.

Dimitrei's eyes were not on the numbers but on Thalia's figure, which was quite simple for an employee in the important position of the finance division, who actually had a pretty good salary.

Dimitrei strongly believed in what Thalia said about her financial reports and it seemed that he didn't need to correct them anymore even though he should have because it was a very important matter.

Until finally, Thalia's presentation was finished and Dimitrei was still looking at her.

"Are you satisfied with my report, Sir? Do you think there is anything that needs to be improved?" Thalia asked very politely and cautiously.

"Hmm, after this, come to my room," Dimitrei replied, making Thalia swallow her saliva because she thought something was wrong with her report.

"Okay, Sir." Thalia tried to push away her nervousness.

Then Dimitrei ended the meeting and Dimitrei's assistant told Thalia to come to the CEO's room after putting away her report.

After Dimitrei left the meeting room, Thalia looked at John as if asking for help.

"Good luck," said John, his hand clenched into a fist to encourage Thalia.

And the other employees also encouraged Thalia as if she were the sacrifice of the boss's anger from this meeting.

"You can do it, Thalia. Don't be nervous," said one of the company officials who was next to Thalia.

Thalia nodded slowly, resigned to what Dimitrei would say later.

"What is this? They only give encouragement without helping me?" Thalia muttered to herself.
