Hearing Daniel's name, I felt a headache coming. I knew why he was calling me.

There was an uneasiness and unknown fear built inside me. I guess, I feared to study the way our culprits tortured their victim. I guess, I feared to know the number of victims. There were too many fear inside and unfortunately, I can't name them all.

Standing in front of the police station, I mentally prepared myself. I knew it was one of the most brutal case we all were dealing with.

Walking inside, we all were greeted by the 'Choki incharge'. He was dressed in khaki shirt and pants with a black leather belt and a peaked cap. "Sahib, this way. The reports are kept in the record room. " With the way he spoke, it was obvious that he practiced the line just for us. I seriously appreciated his efforts.

As we stepped into the record room, a dim light welcomed us. The room had no window in it, I felt it was more like a punishment. No proper lighting in a room filled with thousands of reports, no sign of cleanliness and no fan. I had an urge to cry.

Without wasting any more minutes, we all started digging into the records. As per our plan, we will look for the last five years first. But an obstacle awaited us. All stopped searching and stood up still trying their best to be calm.All the records were hand written and were written in hindi. The most ironic thing was that Mr. Sinha and i were the only people in the room who knew hindi. Not only do we need to first understand what exactly is written but we also have to translate it to others. It was not impossible or something we hated doing but it will take up a lot of time and that's what we lack the most.

With a sad and complicated expression, we both started looking for the cases that had the same pattern as our culprits. Half of the reports were eaten by rats or were covered with spider webs.It took us the whole afternoon searching for the reports. In total, there were 6 cases that had similar pattern. Seeing how much hard work we have done, Daniel decided to give us a break for 15 min. Wow! How generous he was.
