Percival’s Mistake To Lady Charlotte

Josephine steps in front of Eleanor and extends the tray, which Eleanor's shaky hands reach for, grabbing the letter. She gazes at it for a moment before eventually unfolding it. Prior to revealing the contents of the letter, she lets out a deep sigh, then proceeds to open it.

The letter reads, "Eleanor! It's been some time since our last meeting. Please join me at the castle tomorrow afternoon for tea." Eleanor's hands tremble more noticeably as she reads, aware of the obligation to attend. This isn't just an invitation from the princess but also from her purported friend.

Eleanor places the letter on her bedside dresser and turns to look at Josephine. "Thank you, Josephine. You may leave now," she says, masking her true feelings with a forced smile, which goes unnoticed by Josephine as she bows and exits, closing the door behind her.

"I knew this couldn't be avoided... but it's happening sooner than expected. She's acting as though she's aware of my plans, but Sebastion wouldn't have disclosed them. He may be her friend, but he's also principled. He detests those who manipulate others for personal gain," Eleanor murmurs to herself.

Meanwhile, in the main hallway of the mansion, Charlotte has invited Percival Radcliffe over, much to Charles' annoyance. Despite his irritation, he understands that he must attempt to be happy for her, as Eleanor had advised.

"Charles! Percival and I are heading to my room," Charlotte announces cheerfully, prompting Percival to give Charles a smug expression, further aggravating him. "Sure, whatever," Charles mutters as he walks off in the opposite direction.

In Charlotte's room, they sit opposite each other on the sofa with a table between them. The maids serve tea as they both take a sip.

"How's the tea, Percival?" Charlotte inquires with her innocent smile.

"It's delightful," Percival responds with a forced smile, taking another sip while his eyes betray a hint of annoyance that Charlotte remains oblivious to.

As the servants depart, Percival sets his tea aside. "Shall we engage in a different activity, Lady Charlotte?" he suggests with a smug expression.

"What do you have in mind?" Charlotte queries, placing her tea on the table.

Percival rises from his seat and moves beside Charlotte, whose confusion grows as Percival leans closer, placing a hand on her leg, further perplexing her.

While this unfolds, Charles stands outside Charlotte's room, on the verge of knocking but hesitating. "Should I...? No, I'd just be bothering her since she wants to be alone with Percival..." Withdrawing his hand from the knocking position, Charles shifts toward the door just as he hears Charlotte's voice.

"No! Let go! Get off me!" Charlotte's distressed words reach Charles as he's about to leave, instantly transforming his expression into a glare, prompting him to barge in. "Charlotte!"

Charles flinches slightly, his eyes widening as he sees Percival pinning Charlotte on the couch, her struggling to break free.

Reacting swiftly, Charles rushes over. "You bastard!" He delivers a punch to Percival, drawing Alexander and Eleanor into the room, alerted by the commotion. "What's happening!?" Eleanor asks, sounding concerned and breathless. Alexander, taken aback by the scene, is perplexed about the situation's context.

Percival quickly stands up and points at Charles. "This jerk punched me for no reason!" he exclaims, holding one hand to his left cheek, where the punch landed.

"Me!? You were about to assault my sister!" Charles retorts sharply. "Can you blame me for seeking pleasure? It's a basic human urge!" Percival snaps back angrily, but Alexander, still standing by the door, wears a shocked expression as he interjects, "You... were attempting to take advantage of my innocent little sister?" He asks quietly.

"Of course! At least someone here understands—" Percival's words are cut off by a powerful punch from Alexander, who glares intensely at him, leaving Eleanor gasping in surprise, Charles wearing a smug expression, and Charlotte still deeply confused by the unfolding chaos.

The duke and duchess, known as William and Victoria, rush in upon hearing the commotion.

"What's happening here?" the duchess asks in surprise. "Yes, what's all this noise about?" the duke adds, clearly annoyed.

Percival struggles to get up after receiving two punches in quick succession. Charles points at him. "This Percival guy tried taking advantage of Charlotte," Charles explains, clearly irritated.

"I was just trying to—" Percival's attempt to speak is interrupted by the aftermath of the punches. Then, he feels a chilling presence before him—it's the duke! Percival, barely standing, receives another punch from the duke.

Eleanor gasps again, Charles stifles a laugh, and Alexander looks satisfied, thinking, "He got what he deserved." Charlotte remains confused.

But the drama isn't over yet. Percival tries to rise again, but the duchess intervenes, delivering slaps to him until he finally faints from the barrage of hits. The duke wears a smug expression, remarking, "That's my wife." Eleanor facepalms, Alexander and Charles share a giggle, and Charlotte continues to shake her head slowly, trying to make sense of the chaotic scene before her.

"Seems like Percival's father will struggle to apologize for this chaos," Eleanor murmurs to herself before quietly leaving the room without attracting anyone's attention.

"Now, then," Eleanor muses as she strolls down the hallway.

"I have a tea party tomorrow afternoon that I need to get ready for," Eleanor mentions, flipping her hair back and continuing down the hallway.

To be continued.
