Epilogue

Xavier Lee grew up in a toxic environment. His mother had passed away when he was only one year old. His mother was just one of the girls his father had married for power and influence, making their marriage an arranged one. In order to survive amidst his other half-siblings, Xavier had to compete with them every day in everything. He hoped that by doing so, he would be recognized by his father, but all his efforts proved to be in vain.

His stepmothers and half-siblings would often beat him, and there was one instance when his father witnessed him being beaten. Xavier looked at his father with pitiful and pleading eyes, hoping that his father would take pity on him and intervene, but his father simply looked at him coldly, ignoring his suffering at the hands of his half-siblings.

He endured it all, just to survive.

However, everything changed when he witnessed his mother's only belongings being burned by his half-siblings, with his other stepmothers standing by and doing nothing to stop it. It was the first time Xavier shouted, hysterically crying and begging for them to stop. He hadn't even reacted that way when he was being beaten all the time.

But his stepmothers just looked at him coldly and walked away, while his half-siblings beat him, saying, "Why are you making such a fuss? It's just trash anyway—"

Xavier suddenly found himself covered in blood, his face and body stained by his siblings' violence. Meanwhile, his siblings lay injured, some lifeless. The sight of their blood-soaked state struck terror into the other siblings, who fled in fear, crying.

Xavier surveyed his bloodstained hands, a glint appearing in his eyes. A sinister grin spread across his face as he licked the blood from his lips.

When his stepmothers, particularly the mother of the child he had beaten badly, witnessed this, they became frightened and labeled him a monster. His icy gaze met theirs, and he rolled his eyes dismissively. The mother, about to attack him, recoiled in fear and hysterically shouted as he was stabbed in the leg with a knife.

His appearance was truly terrifying at that time, especially his eyes, resembling a demon descending to Earth to enact punishment through killing.

Witnessing this, the other stepmothers and half-siblings grew even more frightened.

However, he simply regarded them coldly and walked away, seemingly bored by the spectacle unfolding before him.

That's when his first-ever alternate personality awakened. An aggressive and ruthless entity, known as the P̶u̶n̶i̶s̶h̶e̶r̶.

His father slapped him, but he responded by licking his lips and narrowing his eyes, appearing satisfied with the taste of blood. He erupted into hysterical laughter, his visage intensely frightening, causing even his father to shudder at the sight.

All of this unfolded when he was just thirteen years old.

Because of this incident, Xavier became the most feared person in the mansion. People would avoid him and feel uneasy whenever they saw him. Even his father started to show fear in his presence, causing him to ignore Xavier even more.

By the time he turned fifteen, he developed a second alter personality, known as Blue.

The emergence of Blue was a result of enduring the cold, fearful, and disgusted stares from others, as well as the hurtful words labeling him as a monster. These experiences left him feeling emotionally detached and lifeless. Despite enduring these circumstances for two years, he had to maintain a facade of calmness in order to survive.

This is what ultimately gave rise to Blue, a personality characterized by a cold and reserved demeanor, accompanied by an emotionless gaze.

At the age of 17, Xavier developed a third alternate personality named Max. Max's behavior was completely opposite to Blue's. Max had a cheerful, extroverted, and playful personality, often displaying a childlike demeanor.

Max was born out of an encounter with a cute girl in a park. Xavier had been crying on a bench when the girl approached him. She offered him a strawberry-flavored candy, smiling cheerfully and saying, "I don't know why you're crying, big brother, but you're pretty, so cheer up!"

Xavier sniffed and paused, his gaze fixed on the candy in the girl's hands. Sensing his hesitation, the girl frowned and pouted. She took Xavier's hand, placing the candy in his palm, and said in an aggrieved voice, "Hurry, take it, brother. Just don't look at it! Don't worry, I have plenty more. So take it, okay?" She smiled warmly.

Xavier looked at her for a moment, then clenched his hand around the candy, nodding to indicate that he would accept it. Slowly, he unclenched his hand and unwrapped the candy.

As he tasted the sweet candy, a slight frown appeared on his face. However, the girl's smile only grew brighter, and she giggled at his reaction.
