Episode 7

Dennis dismisses his security, fully aware of the danger surrounding him. As a billionaire, he has faced two kidnapping attempts, but that night he chooses to walk alone in his black Lamborghini Urus, a vehicle that draws attention wherever it goes.

After returning to his apartment, Dennis stays in his room. Though he buries his time in front of the notebook working, he quickly becomes uneasy; something within him is unsettling.

After a few hours, Dennis decides to go out and enjoy the night. He’s not fond of nightlife, but after a conversation with a friend over the phone, he agrees to the invitation to a nightclub.

He heads to a "club" in the city. Dennis feels bored, so even while driving, he orders a bottle of whisky and starts drinking.

"" Are you here, brother?

Arthur Medeiros, a Brazilian doctor living and working in New York, has known Dennis for several years.

"" I arrived five minutes ago.

They engage in conversation under the watchful eyes of several women who are dancing.

"" Hi? One of them approaches the table where the friends are talking.

"" Hey there. Arthur, a notorious flirt, quickly responds.

"" Want to dance? The blonde woman with brown eyes invites Arthur with little enthusiasm, as her attention is on Dennis.

"" My friend is dancing alone, doesn’t your friend want to join her?

The blonde asks, staring intently at Dennis.

"" I don’t want to… he replies quickly, gulping down more of his drink.

"" Dennis, I’m going to dance.

Arthur leaves, leaving the CEO alone.

He continues to drink, becoming quite tipsy.

A woman resembling Mel appears in the “club” accompanied by a man.

The young couple heads to the dance floor.

When Dennis sees the woman dancing and grinding against her partner, he becomes insane with the thought that it is Mel.

He quickly jumps from his seat and approaches the woman.

He yells furiously at the woman, who immediately pushes him away.

The noise in the club is deafening.

The man with her punches Dennis hard, sending the CEO crashing to the floor.

Arthur rushes over.

"" What’s going on? Why did you hit my friend?

Arthur is furious to see Dennis on the ground.

"" He hit on my woman, and I didn’t like it.

Arthur lifts Dennis, who tries to reach for the woman again.

"" I don’t want another, I want that woman.

Arthur drags Dennis outside the “club” before things escalate further.

Arthur asks, concerned.

"" Of course, I know her. I slept with her yesterday and today… our encounter was very intense… Dennis replies, smiling with his eyes closed.

Arthur stands dumbfounded at Dennis’s revelation.

He knew his friend was engaged to Amanda and had never heard anything about Dennis having another woman.

"" I’m taking you home. Arthur says, opening the CEO’s car door.

After half an hour, Arthur drops Dennis off at his apartment and parks the car in the garage.

"" Now I’m going to call a taxi to get my car.

He heads back to the “club” while Dennis remains sprawled on the bed in his apartment.

After sleeping for a while, he wakes up dazed. He takes a cold shower and vomits heavily in the bathroom. Once he feels better, he recalls the events while lying in bed.

"" Oh, no… What have I done? Why did I confuse that woman with Ms. Mayer?

"" But did I really confuse them? That woman looks so much like Ms. Mayer, and she was very comfortable grinding on that guy…

Dennis squeezes the pillow in anger.

He loses sleep and begins to vomit again.

"" I don’t feel well… My head hurts, and I feel terribly nauseous…

He goes to the kitchen and drinks a glass of water.

And picking up his cellphone from the counter, he dials Mel's number.

Immediately after the first call, Dennis hangs up.

"" Hi, Miss Mayer. He says slowly, biting his lip.

"" Mr. Connor, is everything alright? Mel asks, worried about him.

"" Yes, I was trying to call my fiancee and accidentally dialed your number. Sorry to wake you... Are you home? I thought you were sleeping?

Dennis looks at the time. It was exactly one o'clock in the morning.

"" It's fine, I completely understand, don't worry... I'm home, yes, Mr. Connor. I was sleeping when I heard my phone ringing.

Mel responds in a hoarse voice.

He feels relieved to confirm that Mel wasn’t the woman at the ‘club’.

Dennis quickly grabs his phone and rushes to the bathroom, throwing up again.

Hearing the noise on the other end of the line, Mel jumps out of bed, wide-eyed and fully awake.

"" Sir, are you alright? Are you vomiting?

She asks, but receives no response.

She can't hear Connor's voice, and a wild urge to see him arises in her mind.

"" Hi, Miss Mayer, are you still there? He speaks again after nearly three minutes of silence.

Mel calms down upon hearing his voice.

"" What happened? Are you vomiting?

"" Yes, I drank too much and don’t know how to fix this hangover.

"" Calm down, drink plenty of water, and call your fiancee to come see you and stay with you.

Mel argues, feeling a strange sensation in her chest.

"" She's traveling... Why don’t you come take care of me? After all, you are my secretary, aren’t you?

"" It’s not quite like that, Mr. Connor... Especially since you fired me, remember?

"" I do remember. But I want you back.

Mel's eyes widen as her heart races in her chest.

"" You want me back? She asks awkwardly.

Dennis bursts into a hearty laugh.

"" What are you thinking, you little minx?

Mel immediately chokes on her saliva.

"" Me? I'm not thinking anything.

Dennis discreetly smiles without her noticing.

"" I want to hire you again; will you accept?
