Episode 6

Dennis speeds the vehicle through the streets of New York with his security guards following him in another car. He was absolutely certain that Steven knew what had happened the night before.

Upon arriving at the condominium where his assistant lived, the doorman immediately allows Dennis entry. That condominium belonged to his company.

“Mr. Luiz, is Mr. Steven Markison in his apartment? Do you know if his car is still in the garage?"

The doorman's eyes widen in surprise at the CEO's question, but looking at him fixedly, he replies timidly.

"Mr. Connor, Mr. Markison is in the apartment, he hasn't left today."

The doorman responded awkwardly, ashamed to be passing information about the guests. But he also feared that if he did not answer the owner of the condominium, which was Dennis, he could be fired.

The billionaire CEO crosses the parking lot in his luxury car.

Soon he spots Steven's car.

Taking the elevator, he quickly reaches the desired apartment.

He rings the bell insistently and, noticing that no one opened the door, returns to the reception and gets a spare key from the doorman.

Dennis opens the door and finds Steven at the table eating.

"So, you bastard didn't open the door because you didn't want to, did you?"

Steven is completely speechless in front of his boss.

Dennis throws the food from the table to the floor in anger.

"What happened in that hotel?"

Dennis holds Steven's shirt tightly, who is frightened.

“Mr. Connor, I don't know what's going on, but it's not my fault."

Dennis releases Steven, who gets up quickly.

“No use lying, Steven. I know it was you who took my cell phone and sent a message to my secretary."

Steven swallows hard, not knowing how to respond.

“I have the footage from the hotel. So I'm going to give you a minute to start telling me why you did this.”

Connor sits back on the sofa, looking grimly at his assistant.

Steven approaches slowly.

"It was I who did that. Your father told me to put a sex stimulant in your drink and in Miss Mayer's drink."

Dennis shoots Steven with his eyes.

"Are you saying that it was my father who encouraged you to do this? And why would he do that? How much did he give you to do this?”

"I was in some debt, and your father offered me money in exchange for this little favor."

Dennis grabs Steven again and punches him hard, sending his assistant crashing to the floor.

“If you were needing money, why didn't you come to me? But you decided to betray me in the worst way. You are fired. Don't ever show your face to me again."

Dennis leaves the apartment quite irritated.

He would now go to his father's house to get satisfaction.

Upon arriving at the house, his stepmother greets him warmly.

“Dennis, come in my dear...Your father is in the room.”

Dennis runs up the stairs, leaving the woman talking to herself.

He enters the room, and his father, Max Connor, was sitting on the bed working on his laptop.

“Why did you send Steven to do that, Dad? You know I have a fiancee and that Miss Mayer also has a boyfriend, and even so, you drugged us and we ended up having sex in that hotel room.”

Max closes the laptop and gets out of bed calmly.

“Son, I know it's not right what I did, but I want you to be with Mel. She is an extraordinary, captivating woman.”

"Dad, honestly, you've gone crazy. I love Amanda, my fiancee. I have no feelings for Miss Mayer, nor does she for me.”

Max's eyes widen in surprise.

"I didn't know Mel had a boyfriend. Now I feel bad for her.”

Dennis clenches his fists, staring coldly at his father.

"If you feel bad for her, and for me, don't you feel bad? I'm your son, Dad. I don't understand why so much concern for that insufferable woman.”

"Dennis, don't talk about Mel like that. She is a sweetheart of a girl,” Max says seriously, facing him.

Dennis gets even more irritated to hear his father say Mel's name.

"You're constantly defending her, and you won't stop saying her name.”

Max gives a discreet smile as he notices Dennis's discomfort at this.

“Son, Mel is the daughter of a friend of mine, she is a suffering young woman, her mother abandoned her when she was still a baby, and her father raised her alone. And exactly four years ago, my friend passed away and asked me to take care of his daughter.”

Dennis calms down a bit upon hearing Max's words.

"I didn't know about this story,” he argues, approaching Max.

"I promised Mel's father that I would take care of her, and I did. I'm a great friend of hers, and we get along very well.”

“You talk like you have some feelings for her.”

"Yes I do."

Dennis looks grimly, furiously at his father.

"Don't look at me like that. I have a father-son love for Mel. I never had bad intentions with her.”

“Really?” Dennis asks, raising his eyebrows.

“Why so much concern, son? Didn't you say you had no feelings for her? I don't understand this unnecessary behavior of yours."

Dennis swallows hard, not knowing what to say.

“I'm not worried about your friendship with that woman. I see no problem with that.”

Max puts his hand on his son's shoulder.

“Dennis, I'm sorry for what I did, I thought you and Mel could be a great couple, but I didn't think about the consequences. I'm so sorry son.”

"All right, but don't ever do that again. She is very worried about all this too. What am I going to tell her? Miss Mayer also wants to know what happened for the two of us to end up in that room."

Max bites his lip, running his hands over his hair.

"Just say you didn't find anything. I'll tell her everything later.”

"All right! As you wish. But I fired her and Steven.”

“Dennis, don't do that. Mel needs this job and Steven has sick parents. I know Steven betrayed your trust, but for what he's already done, I think you need to give him a second chance, what do you think?”

Dennis looks at his father in admiration.

“I'll think about it. But I still haven't forgiven you. I cheated on my fiancee, now I don't know how to say it.”

“That woman is not right for you. One day, you will realize this. The right woman is Mel.”

Dennis looks at his father resentfully.

“I'm leaving.”

"Stop by for dinner with us one day.”

"All right," he says, leaving the room.
