Ethan's POV
The next day, I woke up feeling refreshed, determined to move forward with my plan to break down that wall that Alexander put up in front of anyone who approached him. Once again, I headed to the coffee shop before going to the office, carefully choosing a mocha this time, as it seemed he liked coffee that wasn't so bitter, so I was hoping to impress him with my choice.
When I arrived at the office, I noticed that the atmosphere seemed less tense and frantic than the previous week, it was a change that was more noticeable than the day before. The atmosphere was more relaxed, and the tension that had been present seemed to have dissipated.
Determined to seize this opportunity, I went to Stone's office and knocked softly on the door before entering, feeling a little nervous doing so.
"Can I help you with something?" the alpha asked, looking up from his computer.
"Sorry, Mr. Stone. I just wanted to know if you needed anything before I started the day."
"Actually, Mr. Lloyd, we're not as busy today as we were last week. We just finished a major project, so we can work more relaxed." He said, looking me up and down, which made me feel a slight chill but also relieved.
"I understand. In that case, would you like a coffee? I brought you one, it's still hot." I approached his desk showing the coffee in my hands, smiling enthusiastically.
"Thank you, Ethan." My heart skipped a beat when I heard him call me by my name again.
I left the coffee on his desk and smiled at him. I left the office despite being more confident, I was still a little nervous. I had managed to slightly break down the wall between us and begin to establish some kind of connection with Alexander.
"It seems like the boss is in a good mood," said a familiar voice when I left the office, it was Laura.
"Oh yeah… it seems so."
"The project we just finished was very important, I think you were lucky to have arrived at the end of it, it was an ordeal." Laura smiled and came over to me to hand me a small cupcake. "Here, they're handing them out to everyone in the department, I thought if I didn't save you one, you wouldn't get to eat one." She said with a kind voice and a smile.
"Thank you, Laura. That was your name, right? I still don't have them all memorized." I smiled nervously.
"Yes, Ethan. I hope the boss isn't so grumpy now that no one who works near him is an omega... well, he really needed a secretary, really the months he was with a secretary was horrible, for everyone."
"I promise to do a good job."
"I know you will." She put her hand on my shoulder and smiled at me.
I sat down nervous but happy that they trusted me. I really wanted to make a good impression on my boss and colleagues.
After that little conversation, I went to my desk to continue with my work for the day.
