Lucca's POV

When Maia marked me, I thought I wouldn't be able to bear the pleasure, I exploded, marking her as mine. The feeling I felt is nothing compared to the readings I had about the mate bond, it's surreal, overwhelming, and frightening, the need, the desire, the longing to be close, the veneration we feel for our mate is something breathtaking. She's quiet, and when I look at her, she's sleeping. I get up, wet a towel, and clean her body, and I go to the shower to take a shower. I take a shower remembering the moment we had, when we go to the pack grounds many will probably have found their mates, I smile to think that my friends and battle companions felt the same as me...
