Scene: At night, at school. Yui walks downstairs to find a retro style phone.

Yui: I found one!

Yui picks up the receiver and looks around nervously. She finds Kanato standing right beside her.

Yui: Ah!K-Kanato, you're still here.

Kanato: Yui, don't you understand why I'm here?

Yui: Huh?

Kanato: I'm thirsty. So is Teddy.

Say, Teddy? What do you think of Yui for being so callous?

Yui: I-I'm sorry.

All right, I'll go buy you something.I'm sorry, Teddy.

Kanato: Would you please not address my Teddy as though you know him?

I am the only companion he needs.

Scene: Sometime later, at school. Yui holds out a cup of coffee for Kanato.

Yui faints. Laito catches her.

Scene: Sometime later. Yui wakes up in her room.

Yui looks at her cross necklace.

Yui gets out of bed and opens the front door.

Yui: It's not locked.

Scene: At a church. Yui stands in front of the altar.

Yui: Dear God, is this another ordeal you have seen fit to give me?

Is my father alive and well?

Laito: I wouldn't bother asking God. You won't get a response.

Yui: How did you know I was here?

Laito: Don't you remember?

Laito begins to approach Yui.

Laito pulls Yui closer by the collar of her jacket.
