The castle courtyard was a hive of activity. Soldiers, their armor glinting in the morning sun, marched in formation. The head maids, their silk gowns rustling, scurried about, overseeing preparations for the day. A sudden hush fell over the crowd as a figure, cloaked in a swirling robe of deep purple, emerged from the shadows.
His voice, powerful and commanding, echoed through the courtyard, "Peace be upon you!" The head maids, startled by the unexpected intrusion, exchanged worried glances. Some whispered to each other, their voices barely audible. "Who is he?" one asked. "I've never seen him before," another replied. The soldiers, however, recognized the figure immediately. They dropped to their knees, their swords held high in a gesture of respect.
The soothsayer, his face hidden beneath a wide-brimmed hat, stood tall and proud. His eyes, piercing and intense, scanned the crowd. A sense of awe and reverence washed over the courtyard as everyone realized that they were in the presence of a man who could see the future.
The soothsayer raised his hand, silencing the murmurs. "I have come with a message," he began, his voice carrying over the hushed crowd. "A message of both hope and warning." As he spoke, the courtyard fell into a deathly silence. Everyone leaned forward, their eyes fixed on the soothsayer, eager to hear his words.
The soothsayer's words hung heavy in the air. As he finished, a figure emerged from the castle, hurrying towards the courtyard. It was Lord Asher's trusted companion and minister, Sir Elric.
"A soothsayer!" Sir Elric exclaimed, his voice filled with both surprise and respect. He approached the soothsayer, bowing deeply. "Your presence is most honored, revered one."
The soothsayer nodded, his voice calm and measured.
"Thank you, Sir Elric. I must speak with Lord Asher."
Sir Elric nodded, his face grave. "Of course. Please follow me."
......................................
The soothsayer followed Sir Elric through the grand hall, his eyes taking in the opulent surroundings. Finally, they reached a heavy oak door. Sir Elric knocked, and a voice from within called,
"Enter."
The door creaked open, revealing a large, ornately decorated chamber. Lord Asher sat on a throne at the far end of the room, his face etched with lines of wisdom and experience. As the soothsayer entered, the lord rose to his feet, a look of curiosity on his face.
"Welcome," Lord Asher said, his voice deep and resonant. "I am Lord Asher, ruler of these lands."
The soothsayer bowed, his voice low and respectful. "Greetings, Lord Asher. I have come to speak with you about the future."
Lord Asher nodded, his expression intrigued. "A soothsayer, you say?
A flicker of doubt crossed his face. "These are merely tales," he said, his voice dismissive.
"Empty words to frighten the ignorant."
The soothsayer's eyes narrowed. "Do you doubt my abilities, Lord Asher?" he asked, his voice firm.
"Perhaps," the lord replied, his tone arrogant. "I have heard many such prophecies in my time, and none have come true."
The soothsayer shook his head. "You will regret your doubt, Lord Asher," he warned. "The future is coming, and it will not be kind."
Lord Asher scoffed. "I fear no future, soothsayer. I am the master of my own destiny."
The soothsayer's voice was filled with a sense of urgency.
"Listen to me carefully, Lord Asher," he said. "The future is coming, and it will not be kind."
Just as he finished speaking, the door to the room swung open. Lily stepped into the chamber.
As soon as Lily entered the room, Lord Asher's eyes were drawn to her. His expression softened, and a warm smile spread across his face.
The soothsayer watched the interaction between Lord Asher and Lily with keen interest. He saw the love and affection in their eyes, and he knew that it would play a significant role in the events to come.
Lily approached Lord Asher, her hands trembling slightly. She held out a letter, her eyes filled with both fear and hope.
"My lord," she stammered, "I found this in the garden."
Lord Asher took the letter from her hand, his curiosity piqued. He broke the seal and began to read. As he did so, a smirk spread across his face. He looked up at Lily, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
"Well, well," he said, "it seems someone has been writing to you."
Lily's face flushed with embarrassment. "I didn't know who it was from," she protested.
Lord Asher chuckled. "Oh, I'm sure you have a pretty good idea." He turned back to the letter, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Let's see what this admirer has to say."
As he read, Lily's anxiety grew. She knew that the letter contained a secret, a secret that could change her life forever.
Lord Asher's face contorted into a mask of fury as he read the name at the bottom of the letter: Alaric. Alaric, the prince of his rival kingdom, had dared to write to Lily.
His anger was a raging inferno within him, a fire that threatened to consume him. His eyes, once a warm brown, turned a fiery red, a testament to the intensity of his rage. He clenched his fists, his knuckles white with the effort to control himself.
The soothsayer watched Lord Asher's reaction with a mixture of concern and amusement. He knew that the lord was a man of great pride and possessiveness, and he could see that the letter had struck a nerve.
But Lord Asher forced himself to calm down. He knew that he could not lose his temper in front of the soothsayer. So, he took a deep breath and tried to compose himself. "Alaric," he muttered, his voice barely a whisper. "You will pay for this."
The soothsayer, his eyes fixed on Lord Asher, spoke slowly. "Tell me, Lord Asher, what is your relationship with this woman?"
Lord Asher's anger began to subside, replaced by a sense of shame. "She is my beloved," he admitted, his voice barely a whisper.
The soothsayer nodded. "I see. And what is her name?"
"Lily," Lord Asher replied.
The soothsayer closed his eyes for a moment, as if concentrating. Then, he opened them and looked at Lord Asher with a grave expression. "Lily," he repeated, "her name is a harbinger of change."
Lord Asher's heart pounded in his chest. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice trembling.
The soothsayer did not answer immediately. Instead, he stood up and walked over to the window, gazing out at the moonlit courtyard. Then, he turned back to Lord Asher and said, "The future is uncertain, my lord. But I can tell you this: Lily will play a crucial role in the events to come."
Lord Asher's mind raced. He knew that the soothsayer's words were cryptic, but he also knew that he could not ignore them. Lily was the love of his life, and her future was now intertwined with his own.
As the soothsayer turned to leave, Lord Asher called out to him. "Wait," he said.
The soothsayer's words were like a bolt of lightning, striking Lord Asher to the core.
"What are you saying?" he stammered, his voice barely a whisper.
The soothsayer's eyes held a deep, knowing gaze. "Lily is not merely a woman, Lord Asher," he said. "She is divine, a female goddess of these lands, the mother of the supernatural."
Lord Asher was stunned. He had never considered such a possibility. Lily was simply the love of his life, a beautiful and kind-hearted woman. But now, the soothsayer was telling him that she was something far greater.
"She has divine blood," the soothsayer continued, "and with it, inner powers beyond your imagination. Anyone who drinks her blood will become supreme."
Lord Asher's mind was reeling.
The implications of the soothsayer's words were staggering. If Lily was truly a goddess, then she was more powerful than he could ever have imagined. And if anyone could drink her blood and become supreme, then the stakes were even higher.
A wave of fear washed over Lord Asher. He knew that there were those who would do anything to obtain such power. And if they discovered Lily's true nature, they would stop at nothing to get to her.
The soothsayer seemed to sense Lord Asher's fear. "Do not worry," he said,
"Lily is protected. But you must be vigilant. There are those who would seek to harm her."
Lord Asher nodded, his resolve hardening. He would protect Lily, no matter the cost. He would fight to keep her safe, and he would do whatever it took to ensure that her divine blood remained pure.
"Tell me more. Tell me what the future holds for Lily and me."
Wait!
But the soothsayer disappeared. ...(he possessed disappearing abilities)
"I must go to her"Lord Asher was determined.
