Chapter 5- The Misty Lake

It was a normal day after my long day of work I contacted Alberto one of Jon's friend and co-worker. Jon said he was busy so could not come with me. I am a bit mad I wanted to have fun with a new friend I made. I mean it can still be fun if I can make a new friend but what I have heard about him is a bit extraordinary and I am kind of scared to meet him in person.

An hour or two later a man wearing a red shirt and black jeans came to me. He was handsome and looked young, maybe my aged. He said to me "Are you Zack? ". I replied with a yes. "You look a bit more alive then what Jon told me" he said. "Wait, are you Alberto? Nice to meet you and what did you say. " I said. We became friends very fast and talked about many things on our way to The Misty Lake. I guess I was a at home for too long it made me nervous to meet anyone.

After reaching the lake it was about 2 PM. It was only allowed to stay till 6 PM after that no one was legally allowed to stay there. I asked Alberto about the matter as from what I heard from Jon he also works for the authorities. He replied with "Do you also know about the creatures residing in this place". I said " Yes, most don't but I know. I don't go out much but I know about them. About the disappearing visitors that the government keeps trying to hide". He said "Good to know. This place contains the Ghost Serpent a snake specialised in camouflage so much that you can't see it during the Mist in the morning and night that is why it is only allowed to stay here during the evening. Some even calls it the Serpent of Most in the area". I said "You know a lot about this type of things I guess. Knowing so much about the creatures and plants in this area". After a minute of silence we moved to the lake to do some fishing. We also saw another man fishing by.

As it started to become 6 PM we packed our bags and started heading out. The man still stayed behind for some reason. The Mist started covering the whole lake like magic. We heard so one scream so we rushed there because Alberto was a part of the authorities and I was following him. It was his car if he did not come back I can go back home either. When we reached where the scream came from we say the man feeding fish to the famous serpent of the lake. We said to us that it was harmless and he feed it every now and then when he comes there. Some people with guns also arrived there and took us hostage. Those people shot the man but thankfully it missed and the guy was alive. But, this gun shot mad the serpent mad as if it understood that it's savior was being attacked. It attacked them. I could see why was it called the Ghost Serpent.

It was moving so fast with his reflective shiny scale in such a pattern that it look like it was just not there like a ghost. It bites one of them and that guy starts to vomit purple black blood. The serpent was so venomous that he died in less then a few minutes. It attacked the others and made them run away. It the went back in the lake as if it was resting. Alberto said "The serpent has high intelligence so it knows to save it's savior. I will add all I saw to the report". We took the man to our car bandaged his wound helped him to his car. We also caught glimpses of the serpent every now and then will helping the man. It did not attack us but just watched, I think it knew we were helping his savior. We reached back home cooked dinner. Alberto stayed over as it was very late and you know it is not allowed to go out at night. He left the next day and I got back on to write the next chapter of the book I was writing as the dead line was coming close. What a day that was. Still can't forgot about it and now Alberto is a good friend of mine. I a lucky I came here and made new friends unlike back in my home town I was bullied a lot. I am happy here might as well stay here till the end of my life.
