Chapter 5 [Is There Something Wrong?]

...We eventually fell asleep in the living room last night, I woke up on the floor while Jennifer was comfortably sleeping on the couch, the TV was also off… So Jennifer must've turned it off when I fell asleep, I looked over at Jennifer and I saw that she was hugging the books I gave her, I felt kind if jealous of the books that I really had the urge to push those books away and hug Jennifer. I checked the time, and it was already 8AM, I stood up to make breakfast and waited for Jennifer to wake up, I was also pretty jealous that Jennifer doesn't snore! Sometimes I feel that I snore, and I wake up out of nowhere! Well let's say it's a funny thing, I was cooking eggs and bacon for breakfast, also mac n' cheese! Mac n' cheese is my favorite! I should never forget mac n' cheese every breakfast! Because if I do… Then I'm going to starve for the whole day. As I was cooking bacon Jennifer suddenly sat up like she just woke up from sleep paralysis, she sat there like a statue for a whole 1 minute, I just stared at her because I didn't know what to do, if I approached her and asked if she was okay the bacon would be burnt, so I just stood there holding the frying pan, but eventually Jennifer stood up and came into the kitchen, she stared at me for a bit and hugged me, I don't know what is going on in her mind, but I hugged her back, for no reason it felt rude to ask if she was okay, but I didn't know what to do except ask her... "Hey… Good morning, are you okay?" I asked her with a concerned tone because I felt worried, what if she is sad or scared, but she didn't respond, so I hugged her tighter while cooking. After cooking breakfast I settled it on the dining table and sat there, I waited for Jennifer to sit down on the chair, so we could eat together, but she didn't come out of my room, now I think there is something wrong, is she sick? Is she tired of me? I went to check on her in my room, and she was actually just laying on my bed hugging my pillow, "Hey, Jennifer… Wake up! Breakfast is ready!" I told Jennifer, Jennifer sat up and hugged me, so I carried her to the dining table. After eating, I washed the dishes while Jennifer was watching another k-drama on the TV, minutes later I was done washing the dishes, so I sat beside her and cuddled, well phew that she didn't ignore me, well she didn't ignore me, but she was just silent, I wonder why! But that doesn't matter! At least she knows I'm her! I'm glad she is not ignoring me! We have been sitting there for hours, and she hasn't said anything, It felt like a bit awkward to start a conversation right now because what if she ignores me, "Is there something wrong, Jennifer?' I asked... But Jennifer gave me a stare for a while and replied to me, "Can I tell you something without you getting sad?" Jennifer asked me, without getting sad? What does that mean? Does it mean she hates me? Does it mean she doesn't want to be my friend anymore? I felt so worried that it gave me time to let her speak, so I nodded, "Yeah, sure... I don't get sad easily so tell me!" I told her, Jennifer looked at me straight in the eyes, "Will you still want to be my friend after I tell you this?" she asked me, I felt a bit scared from what came out of her mouth, "Of course! I will still be your best friend no matter what!" I said to cheer up the conversation. "I have this curse that gave me a short life" Jennifer confessed, I felt shocked, and I didn't want to believe it, "How many years do you have left?" I asked, "5 more years" Jennifer answered my question, well I had a great idea! "Then move here, so we'll spend your last 5 years here! I promise I will make those last years the best years of your life until the end!" I promised her, Jennifer sounded like she was about to cry, now I know how comfortable she is with me now that she confessed to me her secret or let's say "curse"...
