Wiven

I was called to my family's house tonight. Although I didn't want to set foot in that house, I was forced to go because it involved some mafia business.

Since I had left that house, my desire was to never set foot in it again. Everyone looked at me with contempt and seemed to be contaminated whenever they smelled me.

Out of courtesy, I rang the bell and was greeted by one of the maids who let me in.

I followed her to the living room, where my mother was sitting on the sofa with two women I didn't recognize.

"To what do I owe the honor of your summons, Mother?" I said.

I stood in the same spot, not taking another step.

"As you can see, this is my son. Sit down, Wiven, we need to talk about your future wife," my mother said.

What kind of bullshit was this? As far as I know, she has no right to decide who will be by my side in this mess.

I looked at one of the women in front of me, and one of them couldn't hide her happiness in looking at me.

"What's this about, Mother?" I asked.

She looked at me as if she wanted to shoot me.

"This is," she said, pointing to the blonde woman, "Angelina. She's interested in you and is willing to marry you, son."

I glared at her. "Like hell I'm going to marry her."

I saw her seem hurt. But fuck it, I don't care. I know she's never been through a third of what I've been through in this life. Her pheromones don't appeal to me one bit either.

I got up from the couch and turned to leave.

"Forgive my son, he's always in a bad mood. I know you two will make a lovely couple and will get to know each other better," my mother said.

"Damn it, Mother, can you stop this idiotic charade? You're starting to really piss me off! I'm not going to marry someone you arranged. I don't even know why I came here," I said.

Before I could leave, she got up and pulled me by the arm. As soon as I turned my face, she slapped me.

"You're embarrassing me in front of the guests. Can you be a little polite and agree with what I'm doing?" she shouted.

I saw the fury in her green eyes. But it doesn't frighten me, because I also show her my worst look. Making her remember the day she bathed me in salt water after my father left me all marked from the beatings.

For a few seconds, she lets go of my arm and scoffs, saying how despicable I am in front of women and that I would die alone, without anyone's love.

"Who says I care? I'd rather die alone than have bad company by my side," I said.

I slammed the door with all my might as I left. At that moment, I was stressed as hell.

I called Arthur and we went to a nightclub. He asked what happened, but I refused to say.

"Look, Wiven, I know the things you went through when your father was alive. But try to understand that he's dead, and he's not going to bother you again. As for your mother who wants to see your destruction, ignore her," Arthur said.

"I already do that. But today she made me remember that damn night. Now I need something to ease my headache," I said.

Arthur looked at me worriedly as I drank more than one glass of whiskey. What I wanted now to really relieve my stress was to fuck Victor, who was out of my reach.

I always have self-control, but when I'm near him I feel like provoking him at the same time that I feel a current of heat in my body.

Screw it, he's not with me anymore, and I'm fine with that.

To top it off, my heat came back, but this time I went to the hospital. The doctor recommended that I urgently find a partner to make me feel good and get through this. Suppressants alone would not work. He said it was time for me to connect with my other half.
