Hi everyone, I'm Allya Sulivan, and today is my 18th birthday! I'm so excited, I've been waiting for this moment for so long - the day I finally have my transformation and get to meet my wolf.
I'm the daughter of Samia and Gregory Sulivan. They found me in the forest when I was only one year old. To this day, they haven't told me exactly what happened or if they know anything about my true story, but they never hid the fact that I was adopted. I have two siblings, Analia and Jorge Sulivan. Analia is already married and expecting her first pup. Jorge, well, haha... my brother is the typical wolf who woos every she-wolf in the pack. He's Beta to Alpha Derek Northwest. I've never met him; in fact, no one meets the Alpha until they turn 18, right after the moon ritual and our transformations. Today is going to be awesome! My friends and I will undergo the ritual and experience our first transformation. I've always dreamed of this day, and of finally meeting my mate. Everyone says it's surreal. Analia tells me how she felt the mate bond with Brendon, and I wonder if I'll ever feel it too. Here in the pack, everyone participates in the fogs from the age of 16, even before transforming. After all, instinct is instinct. I've been saving myself for my mate all this time; it's hard, but I've never felt like getting involved with anyone during the fogs.
I wake up early, get up, and take a shower. Then I get dressed and go downstairs for coffee; everyone's already here.
“Good morning, everyone," I greet.
“Good morning, happy birthday," they all chorus.
My mom walks over to me and gives me a hug.
"Hey sweetie, I'm glad you're up. Happy birthday, my little wolf," she says. "May the Goddess bless you always."
"Thank you, Mom."
She hugs me and hands me a present. I open it and see a beautiful moonstone necklace.
"Mom, it's gorgeous."
"To protect you, today and always, my love."
She puts the necklace around my neck, and my dad walks up to me.
“Happy Birthday, my little girl.”
"Thanks, Dad."
“It seems like only yesterday I watched you take your first steps, and today we’re going to see you transform into your wolf,"he says."I love you very much, my daughter.”
My dad hugs me, and now it's my sister's turn.
"Oh my God, I'm so emotional!" Analia cries. "You’re finally going to transform!"
“Haha, Analia, it’s like we didn’t just spend all last night getting things ready for the ceremony, haha."
“Even so, you know how I get,"Analia says."You’ll get your present after the transformation, haha.”
“She hasn’t bought anything yet, silly,” Brendon chimes in.
"Brendon!" Analia swats his arm playfully, and we all laugh at them. Now it's my brother's turn.
“Happy Birthday, little sis,"Jorge says."Unlike Analia, I actually bought your present, but I left it at the pack house and I'm going to go get it now.”
“Ha, nice try," Analia laughs.
“It’s true, I swear!"Jorge insists."I bought it, haha.”
Jorge shows us a picture of a dress he bought online, and we all sit down to have coffee. Everything is perfect alongside my family. Suddenly, my phone vibrates; it's a notification from the group chat I have with my friends Erika, Lince, Amanda, and Joshua. I open the messages and burst out laughing.
📱Erika: OMG, guys! Happy birthday to us!! 🤭🎂
📱Amanda: I can't believe this day is finally here. 🥹
📱Lince: I've been training all week for the hunt! I’m ready for a post in the pack house! 💪💪
📱Joshua: Me too 😏💪
📱Allya: Good morning everyone!! I'm excited too! Can’t wait for tonight, haha. 😌
I keep chatting with my friends, and everyone starts leaving. My brother and Brendon head to the pack house, since the Alpha already called them over; my dad is one of the elders - despite his young age, he managed to become one. Mom is a doctor and helps out at the pack hospital. Analia is going to stay with me and get me ready for the ritual, and all I can say is that I'm super nervous.
"Lia, how was your first transformation?" I ask.
"It was perfect, Allya," she replies. "I dreamed of my transformation my whole life. I felt a lot of pain, like I told you, but after Rari transformed, everything was perfect, haha."
Rari is Analia’s wolf's name; each wolf has a name.
"I'm so nervous," I confess. "Do you think I'll do well on the hunt?"
Analia walks over and kisses me on the head as I’m putting the dishes in the sink.
"You don't have to worry, Allya," she assures me. “Just let your wolf take over and trust her. I'm sure everything will be alright.”
We're distracted when the doorbell rings. Analia answers it and returns with a smile on her face and a package in her hand.
“The ceremony dress has arrived," she announces.
We sit down on the sofa and I open it; it’s a beautiful dress for the ceremony. The pack house sends out outfits for everyone participating.
"Let's get you ready for tonight." Analia says.
"I don't know why all the fuss," I reply, "if I'm going to end up looking like a mess after the transformation, hahaha."
"Oh, Allya, stop it," Analia laughs. "It's your day, your moment. You have to look perfect."
I sigh, and we head up to my room. Analia helps me get ready: hair, makeup, the ritual cleansing baths...
"Lia, do you think I'll meet my mate soon?" I ask.
"I'm sure of it," she replies. "You're so beautiful; I'm sure you're going to turn heads tonight, haha, and soon enough you'll be mated, haha."
"I want to feel the same things you said you felt when you saw Brendon, haha."
We spend the whole afternoon chatting, and before we know it, we glance at the clock and it's 6:00 PM. Time really flew by. Analia goes to take a shower and get dressed, and my parents are already getting ready too. Jorge and Brendon got ready at the pack house, since they had their hands full with Alpha duties today. As I descend the stairs, I find everyone in the living room waiting for me.
"You look beautiful, my princess," says Samia.
"Let's go so we're not late," adds Gregory.
We head to the car, driving towards the ceremony location. I'm so excited, haha!
