Practically when you look from his point of view , HE IS RIGHT , It’s because Atlas never really cared about him in public and to be honest , Ezekiel Suffered a lot due to him intentionally and unintentionally..Like dude seriously He Is Right here..Whatever the situation was Atlas could’ve been a better father figure for him, did he think about that.? Also..He won’t get involved as he said before and that’s his way of saying..I know he did wrong and I know he should’ve told Atlas if he knew but , From his POV , he’s only concerned about his family, His wife and kids and I think that’s right..ATLAS DID THE SAME THING AND EVERYONE WAS LIKE , ATLAS IS RIGHT.! ATLAS DID EVERYTHING FOR BRIAR AND EZEKIEL IS DOING THE SAME INFACT THE DIFFERENCE IS ATLAS DOESNT CARE FOR HIS KIDS AND EZEKIEL DOES..
