Slap! Using her free arm, Sophia hit the hand that was trying to grab her. A hand that belonged to Sean Xiao.
"Sean, I'm really tired. I'm not in the mood to play with you guys."
Sean looked back at Andrew Qin who was standing behind him. Crossing his arms and with strain in his voice, he said,
"Sophia, you made me do it."
"Damn it! What do you want from me?"
She replied. Sensing that something was off, that the two men were plotting something, she tried to turn around, intending to run away.
But Andrew had quick reflexes. His body blocked her exit, while Sean grabbed her wrist, gently so he wouldn't hurt her.
Inside the No. 7villa of the Redbud Mansion, Sophia sat on a huge empty sofa, fuming because she looked helpless in her current situation.
"Hey guys, enough of this! Seriously. I'm really tired and I want to go to bed. I can't play video games tonight. I need sleep!"
Sean looked at Sophia with mischief in his eyes. He took his phone and clicked on Weibo, showing it to her as he did.
"If you don't play with us, I'll post a micro-blog now."
Threat dripping from his words.
"I'll tell all the fans that we dated, and that you eventually dumped me for another guy. You left me alone with a broken heart, and you laughed at me the whole time."
Her eyes were wide while he made his threats. When she realized what could happen, she covered her face with her hand.
"Sean, you have no shame! You'll drag yourself into scandals just so you could play a video game with me?"
"It's not a scandal to me."
Sean replied.
"Besides, the fans will think I'm the loyal guy even though I was played around and eventually got dumped by my cheating girlfriend. It's good publicity, for me at least."
Sophia's mouth hung open in horror. Sean continued.
"Think about it, Soph. You have two 'enemies' in front of you, two ex-boyfriends. Do you want both of us to post scandals about you on the Internet?"
Sophia glared at them.
"You cunning evil spawn."
She said.
"You know my life is a living hell, and yet you still trap me like this?"
Andrew was silent the whole time, thinking things over. Then he smiled, placed a hand on Sean's shoulder and said.
"How about you play with us tonight? If you help us gain more points, then we'll help you get a role in a movie."
"No!"
She said, vehemently shaking her head.
"Two movies then."
Sean added.
"No! I don't want to play, especially if I'm going to be used by the casting couch!"
"Damn it, Sophia! You're too much! Since we broke up, my points in this game have been dropping like crazy. Do you even know how miserable I've been?"
Andrew grabbed a pillow and threw it on the sofa, right next to Sophia. Then he slumped on the couch opposite of her, finally voicing his frustration.
Sophia raised her eyebrows, almost smiling at his childish display, the corner of her lips twitching.
"That's not my problem, Andrew. I'm not gonna be blamed for it. It's not my fault you suck at the game. That's why your points plummeted. Why did I even agree to be your girlfriend in the first place? Do I have to remind you of that?"
"Forget it. She won't help."
Sean said.
"We'd better find Kylie Ye and admit defeat tomorrow. Let's just tell her we can't beat their people from Colorful Entertainment Company. We'll just post a statement at the micro-blog saying that we've lost. We'll get over it. It's fine."
Sean tried to comfort Andrew.
But then Sophia straightened up when she heard the name "Kylie Ye."
She felt motivated all of a sudden. She turned to Sean and asked.
"You made a bet with Kylie?"
"Yeah, she's a troublemaker. She challenged me and Andrew today on the set of the drama, Dance of the Phoenix. So we made a bet. On the last day of the playoffs, whoever gets the most points will win. The loser will post an apology letter on the micro-blog tomorrow."
"Are you crazy?"
Sophia replied,
"Kylie hired a professional gamer playing for her! You should've told me this earlier. Go get me some food and drinks. I'll help your sorry asses. You'll be in the top fifty tonight."
"Just the top fifty?" Andrew asked.
She smiled.
"Bro, you're so bad at the game even I can only do so much. It'll take a lot to get you to top fifty. But I do know that Kylie's guy can't crack into the top one hundred. Enough with the talk gents. Let's start the fight!"
Sean went straight to the pantry and pulled out snacks from the cupboard. Then he opened the fridge and grabbed a dozen bottles of beer.
When everything was ready, Sophia started the game and all three of them went into their zone.
"Sean! Watch out! Guard the pagoda! Guard the pagoda!"
"Hey Andrew, keep an eye on the picket line."
"Guys, they want to steal the pagoda! You haven't realized it yet?!"
Sophia was at her element as she led them to get points. They kept playing until 6:30 AM on the second day.
Sophia had dark circles under her eyes. She was pissed off at the two men the whole time..
