Ep - 5. Are You Serious

Upon hearing this, little Jimmy's eyes shone with tears. He held Sophia's legs tightly and shouted,

"Daddy, let's take Auntie Sophia home now!"

Sophia stood there silent, utterly speechless. How was it that a little kid was even allowed to do that? Was he planning to take her back home against her will, kicking and screaming?

Daniel moved towards Sophia with the intention of blindly carrying out Jimmy's wishes, when Vincent Xiao suddenly snapped,

"Let go of her immediately!"

The corners of little Jimmy's mouth curled downwards, and tears started streaming down his cheeks. He abruptly let go of Sophia's legs and turned to face Vincent Xiao.

"Daddy, I want her to be my mommy! Please, Daddy, pleeeeeaaaase..."

Daniel's face suddenly became very solemn as he studied his brother's face.

Still looking at his son, Vincent Xiao answered firmly,

"Yes, I'm dead serious."

"Listen, if you really are serious, I need to remind you and Jimmy of something This woman, Sophia, has an exceedingly bad reputation."

"You saw for yourself last night. Apparently, she has had at least five hundred ex-boyfriends, and she has willingly slept with numerous investors in the past. Can you both truly welcome a girl like that into your family?"

"Uncle and Aunt most likely won't approve of her becoming your wife and Jimmy's mother."

Daniel contemplated the unsavory information that he had gathered about Sophia last night.

In his opinion, her history was worse than disgraceful. He would obviously support his brother if that was what he wanted, but the two elders of the Xiao family would not that was why after confirming that Vincent really liked her, he felt obligated to remind him of their family's inevitable reaction.

However, Vincent Xiao did not look bothered at all. He took little Jimmy from Daniel's arms and said lightly,

"They will like her."

"Yes, as long as I like her, Grandpa and Grandma will like her, too. I would never make a mistake on choosing my mommy Auntie Sophia is going to be my mother!"

Little Jimmy declared confidently.

Daniel gave up on trying to persuade the two. So he asked instead,

"Fine. What is our next move, then? To continue following her, or...?"

Looking in the direction that Sophia had gone, Vincent said emphatically,

"Follow her."

Obeying his orders, Daniel opened the car door and the three got back in.

Meanwhile, Sophia had tried to book a motel room, but since it was in the middle of the tourist season, there were no beds left. She had to study her other options After taking a tremendously long time to decide, she ended up booking a more expensive business hotel However, she only had enough money to stay there for a maximum of three days!

What in the world was she going to do after the three days were up? Ouch! The last thing she wanted to do was borrow money, but she really had no choice left but to ask her best friend, Amy, to bail her out.

Before entering the hotel, Sophia reluctantly called her good friend and told her everything that had happened As expected, Amy generously transferred ten thousand dollars to Sophia's account to help her out. 

After that, she sent Sophia an encouraging message.

"Treat yourself well. Don't worry. When I return, I'll find you a new agent."
