Chapter 16

Ash sat straddled on the plush leather seat of the dimly lit VIP section of the club, his posture relaxed yet commanding.

He wore a fitted black shirt that accentuated his toned physique, the fabric hinting at a modest glow under the neon lights.

The shirt was partially unbuttoned, revealing a glimpse of his sculpted chest, a hint of masculinity softened by a sense of effortless style.

The spotlight from the dance floor gleamed off his green deep eyes, adding an impenetrable charm to his handsome features.

As the music throbbed in the background, Ash raised the bottle of alcohol to his lips, taking a slow, deliberate sip. The scent of the liquor mixed with his cologne, creating an intoxicated atmosphere around him.

His gaze was fixed on the group of girls dancing in front of him, their movement fluid and enthralling under the pulsating lights.

"Just go pick one, Ash," Tammy slurred, leaning on the girls beside him for support.

Ash shook his head, a calculating intensity in his eyes as he raised the bottle back to his lips. He watched the girls with a small smirk, relaxing against the couch.

"Mind if I keep you company?" a familiar voice broke through his thoughts.

Ash looked up to see Amanda standing in front of him. His expression turned cold. "Great, just the person I don't want to see," he muttered, taking another swig of his drink.

Amanda ignored his comment and took a seat next to him, grabbing the bottle from his hand and taking a long sip. "Did you stalk me again?" Ash asked, giving her a suspicious look.

Amanda shrugged. "And why would I do that? I came to the party."

A laugh escaped Ash's lips as he listened to her lies. He knew just how smart Amanda was, and he wasn't blind to the truth.

"You just happened to stumble into this club of all places?" Ash chimed in, unable to contain his amusement.

"It's a small world," she replied, placing her palm on Ash's lap and running it gently. "You're drunk, Ash, and you know how bad that is for your health," she whispered in his ear, her breath tickling his skin.

Their eyes locked, and Ash's jaw tightened as he continued to stare at her, her face just inches from his own.

At that moment, he felt a surge of hatred towards her. He wanted her to feel the pain and trauma he had endured after her betrayal, but she seemed utterly devoid of remorse.

Amanda’s eyes held a confident glint as she gazed back at him, seemingly unfazed by his hate towards her.

“I know you're still mad at me, Ash,” she said softly, her voice barely audible over the pounding music. “But I can't change what happened in the past. I just want us to move forward and try to be civil with each other.”

Ash scoffed and pulled away from her touch, his demeanor turning cold once more. “Civil? After what you did to me, Amanda? You expect me to just forgive and forget?”

A flicker of regret passed through Amanda’s eyes before

she composed herself and met his gaze with stubbornness. “I know I messed up, Ash. I regret it every day. But I want to make things right between us. I miss you, and I want to try and rebuild what we had.”

Ash’s expression softened slightly, a hint of vulnerability peeking through his tough exterior. “It's not easy Amanda. You hurt me in ways you can’t even imagine.”

Amanda reached out to cup his cheek, her touch gentle and pleading. “I know, and I'm sorry. But please, give me a chance to prove to you that I've changed. Let's start over, Ash. Let's give us another chance.”

For a moment, the chaos of the club faded into the background as Ash and Amanda locked eyes, emotions swirling between them.

Ash's finger gently brushed against Amanda's lips, caressing them as his eyes remained fixed on her. Memories flooded his mind as he leaned in closer, mere inches apart.

Ash's cold facade slipped for a moment, revealing a flicker of hurt and anger in his eyes before he composed himself once more.

He pushed her away and stood up abruptly, the leather seat creaking under his sudden movement.

"I don't need your concern, your pity, or your love, Amanda," he said, his voice laced with bitterness. "You made your choice, and now you have to live with it."

Amanda's eyes widened slightly at his words as if realizing the depth of the wounds she had caused. But Ash didn't give her a chance to respond.

He turned on his heel and walked away, his steps purposeful and determined as he made his way through the crowd and out of the VIP section.

As he disappeared into the throng of dancing bodies, Amanda was left sitting there, a look of regret clouding her face. She had come to the club hoping for a chance to make things right.

She picked up the cup in front of her, filled with alcohol, and took a sip. Her hands clenched into fists.

"I won't stop here, Ash. This can't be the end," she whispered, then picked up another cup of alcohol and drank from it.

Ash stumbled through the dimly lit hallway, his unsteady steps echoed softly against the hardwood floor. The faint scent of alcohol trailed behind him as he approached Allison’s door, his hand fumbling as he raised it to knock.

Allison opened the door tentatively, her expression shifting from curiosity to shock as she laid eyes on Ash's drunken state.

“Wow, I don't even know what to say” She mocked.

Her eyes quickly scanned the hallway searching for any sign of Cara or Justin.

“Do you need my help or are you here to spit more insult on my face?” Allison asked, but Ash only grinned.

Disgust crept into Allison’s features as Ash's drunken grin widened, his dimple bringing out the carefree mischief in his expression.

Before she could react, he boldly leaned closer, invading her personal space as he sauntered into her room without invitation.

Panic flickered in Allison's eyes as she attempted to halt his progress, the weight of his drunken presence heavy in the air.

A sense of helplessness washed over her as Ash nonchalantly removed his shirt and collapsed onto her bed, a lazy grin playing on his lips.

The confusion in Allison's mind mirrored the chaos of the scene before her, unsure of how to steer this unexpected turn of events.

Allison grabbed the edge of her pillow, her movements deliberate as she made her way towards the door. As she reached for the knob, a brief moment of hesitation washed over her, her gaze lingering on Ash sprawled out on her bed.

With an exasperated roll of her eyes, Allison finally turned the knob and stepped out of her room. Leaning against the door, she inhaled deeply, the cool air soothing the frustration building within her. Determination etched on her face, she made her way towards Cara's room.

Unlocking the door, Allison stepped inside and shut it firmly behind her. The soft click of the door closing seemed to drown out the chaos of the moment, enveloping her in a sense of fleeting calm.
