Chapter 5
*Ash’s Pov*
She looked stunning tonight, her straight black hair falling gracefully over her shoulders, tempting me to run my fingers through them.
"So, where's Cara?" I inquired, my eyes scanning the pulsating crowd around the bonfire.
"Probably lost in the sea of people," she replied, her gaze fixed on the flickering flames.
As the bartender delivered her drinks, her face lit up with a warm smile, a sight that made my heart skip a beat.
"You know, we could hang out together and explore all the fun things happening around here. You wouldn't want to miss out while you're here," I suggested, hoping to sway her.
With a nonchalant shrug, she dismissed my invitation. "I'll pass, thanks," she retorted before disappearing into the mob of people.
Playing hard to get, she was. But I wasn't one to give up easily. I made my way back to join my friends.
"Hey, where were you?" Tammy called out, handing me a bottle of whiskey as I took a swig.
"Out on the prowl," I quipped, a smirk playing on my lips.
"Please tell me you bagged at least three," Mikel joked.
I chuckled, leaning back against my bike. My gaze wandered to the starlit sky as I confessed, "Caught one, but she's playing hard to get. She's got me intrigued."
I could sense Justin's scrutiny on me, and to dispel his suspicion, I smirked and stared at the brunette seated on his lap. "It's not her, cousin. Don't worry."
As Justin's gaze lingered on the brunette, it only fueled my determination to win over the woman who had captured my attention.
I took another sip from the bottle, my eyes flickering to the bonfire area where she was last seen.
Tuning out the music and revelry enveloping us, I closed my eyes, relishing the cool night breeze caressing my skin.
"Hey," a voice called out.
I opened my eyes to find her standing before me, her arms folded defiantly as she gazed at me.
"Well, isn't this a pleasant surprise," I said, sitting up on my bike, a mischievous smile playing on my lips. "Have you reconsidered my offer?"
She rolled her eyes, diverting the conversation. "Have you seen Justin?" she inquired.
I furrowed my brows, wondering why she was seeking out Justin, what was her connection with him that seemed so urgent.
"I'm not Justin's keeper," I retorted, feeling annoyed by her persistence.
Her expression shifted, and she shot back, "Well, you could've just said you have no idea where he is, jerk," before turning to walk away.
Letting out a sigh, I called after her, "Why do you need to find him?"
"It's none of your damn business!" she yelled back. I hopped off my bike and hurried to intercept her, blocking her path.
"Come on," I urged.
She rolled her eyes, asking, "What do you want, Ash?"
"I want you to spend the evening with me," I finally confessed. She shrugged, unmoving. "Trust me, I'll make it fun, and I won't make any advances," I assured her.
"How reassuring," she quipped, clearly skeptical of my promise.
Placing a hand over my heart, I swore, "Scout's honor."
A faint smile crept onto her lips, a sign that I had managed to ease her guard. "Fine, but no funny business," she agreed at last.
Guiding her away from the bustling crowd, I led her to my favorite secluded spot by the beach. Though a bit of a walk, it offered a tranquil setting surrounded by natural beauty.
"I never knew about this wooden bridge here," she marveled, turning to me with surprise and excitement evident in her voice.
"It's a sanctuary for those seeking solitude, away from the chaos of the world," I explained.
"How profound," she teased, a playful glimmer in her eye.
I grinned. "I can be deep, you know."
We settled on the bridge, dipping our feet in the water. As she turned her gaze towards the sky, a radiant smile brightened her face.
"The sky looks so beautiful," she whispered.
"Not as beautiful as you, though," I remarked, unable to resist the flattery.
She studied me for a moment before returning her focus to the sky. "You always have something to say," she noted.
"Shouldn't I?" I replied.
"Are you still interested in fucking me?" she challenged abruptly.
"Is that a yes to my proposal?" I teased, intrigued by her playful banter.
Turning to face me, she shook her head. "Nope, just curious about your outrageous ideas," a smile dancing on her lips.
"Are you toying with me, Cupcake?" I inquired.
"You're something else," she murmured.
We lapsed into a comfortable silence for a while before I spoke up, "But there's something I'd like to do right now."
Allison turned to me, her expression curious as I gently brushed a stray strand of hair from her face, my fingers grazing her cheek.
I leaned in closer, teasingly tracing her lip as I closed the gap between us, my eyes flickering from her gaze to her enticing lips.
"I'm so tempted to kiss you, it's consuming me," I confessed breathlessly.
Without giving her a chance to respond, I captured her lips with mine. The kiss was a blend of softness, hunger, and tenderness, inviting a responsive reaction from Allision as she leaned into the embrace.
Gently withdrawing, I studied her expression, noticing her desire for more as she leaned in, her lips slightly parted.
Rubbing my nose against hers, my lips grazed hers delicately, almost touching.
"More," she shyly pleaded, her hand snaking around my neck as she sought closeness.
I chuckled softly, pulling her closer as I leaned in again, enveloping her in a slow, passionate kiss. Deepening the connection, I felt her reciprocate eagerly, syncing with the rhythm of our lips.
My hand trailed to her neck, caressing it tenderly as she matched each of my kisses with passion.
Enthralled by her, I let my tongue meet hers, exploring and savoring the intensity of the kiss, nearly stealing her breath away.
Between kisses, I moaned her name, "Allison," realizing she stirred emotions in me like no other, igniting a newfound excitement within me.
*Allison’s pov*
Tossing and turning in bed, the memory of my kiss with Ash consumed my thoughts relentlessly. Why did I give in to that impulse and even crave more?
Frustrated, I let out a muffled scream into my pillow before finally rising from bed and making my way to the bathroom.
After what felt like an eternity of pacing, I emerged, steeling myself as I met my reflection in the mirror.
I resolved to act unconcerned if I ever crossed paths with Ash again, pretending as though nothing had happened.
Unlocking the door, I stepped out only to collide with Ash in the hallway.
My heart quickened as I bit my lower lip, choosing to walk past him without offering more than a brief acknowledgment.
Descending the stairs to the dining table, I sensed Ash's presence trailing behind me. With a quick turn, I caught his gaze, but he swiftly brushed past me, settling into a seat at the dinner table.
Feeling a mix of confusion and embarrassment, I found relief as Cara embraced me from behind, and Justin playfully tousled my hair.
"Hey," I greeted Justin, attempting to lighten the mood. "I spent ages fixing this hair." Justin grinned and took a seat beside Ash, leaving me in a state of suspense and tension.
Breakfast was quiet until Cara decided to break the silence.
"I can't believe you left so early yesterday," Cara turned to me.
I choked on my food, coughing so hard that Justin passed me a glass of water.
"Are you okay? I'm sorry," Cara apologized, patting my back gently to ease the cough.
I raised my head and stared at Ash, who sat there unconcerned as he took a bite of his toast.
"You were still having fun and I was getting bored," I lied, clutching my fork tightly.
I could feel Ash's gaze on me as he smirked, clearly enjoying the situation.
"I can't believe you two still came over despite our warning," Justin said annoyingly.
"It was probably Cara's idea," Ash finally spoke.
Cara gasped, "Not fair," she said.
They both laughed as she spoke, and Ash relaxed in his seat, stealing glances whenever he could.
I bit my lower lip trying to hide my expression. My eyes fell on Justin, who beamed a smile at me.
"So, what's the plan for today? Please tell me there is at least something exciting going on," Cara squeaked in, hoping to get some information.
"I have a car race today. Do you want to come watch me?" Ash asked.
Cara rolled her eyes, "Ewww, no, is that even a sport? How is that fun?"
Ash gave Cara a cold stare before turning to me. "What about you, cupcake? Do you also think car racing isn't a sport?" his gaze held mine.
"Cupcake?" Cara asked curiously, her gaze shifting from me to Ash. I could feel my stomach tightening into a knot, trying not to show how much his words affected me, I spoke.
"Well, I would love to see you race," I said.
A wicked grin formed on his lips as he leaned closer, his elbows resting on the dining table.
"You sure, cupcake?" he teased.
