Ichiro froze, his heart pounding in his chest as he scanned the shadows for the source of the voice. There, emerging from the darkness, stood a figure cloaked in shadow, their features obscured by the dim light filtering through the trees.

"Who are you?" Ichiro demanded, his voice betraying a hint of unease.

The figure stepped forward, their movements fluid and unhurried. "That's not important," they replied, their tone dripping with malice. "What matters is that we have unfinished business, you and I."

Ichiro's hand tightened into a fist at his side, his senses on high alert as he prepared for whatever threat lay before him. But before he could react, the figure vanished into the darkness, leaving behind only a lingering sense of foreboding.

Back at the Nexus, Rei watched as Ichiro stormed out of the room, his departure leaving a palpable tension in his wake. Turning to his companions, he found them lost in their own thoughts, their expressions reflecting a mix of concern and uncertainty.

Dr. Chen seemed particularly uneasy, her fingers trembling as she sifted through the documents. Rei caught the glint of fear in her eyes, a silent admission of the weight of their discoveries.

"What is 'Project Nexus Disposal'?" Rei muttered to himself, his brow furrowed in confusion. He took a deep breath, steadying himself before announcing, "I'll be back."

Meanwhile, in the Nexus, Jiyo and Saburo remained behind, their focus trained on the scattered files before them. Saburo attempted to break the tension with some light-hearted banter, but Jiyo remained silent, her frustration evident in the way she furrowed her brow and clenched her fists.

"Come on, Jiyo, lighten up," Saburo said with a playful grin. "We'll figure this out together."

But Jiyo's only response was a curt nod before she disappeared into the shadows, leaving Saburo alone with his thoughts.

As he watched her go, Saburo couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. He knew Jiyo had been through a lot, just like the rest of them, and he wished there was something he could do to ease her burden.

With a heavy sigh, Saburo turned back to the documents, his mind racing with questions and uncertainties. But deep down, he knew that their journey was far from over, and that the secrets they were uncovering would only lead them further into the darkness.
