Familiar

William knew a majority of the people in his circle wanted him dead, but he just never thought they would send a tiny little lady to do the job, after getting discharged from the hospital, the first thing he did was find the person responsible for the death of his trusted driver, and he was surprised to see who it was. Although the girl's mouth was taped shut, she wasn't tied down which made him to wonder why she didn't try to remove the tape on her own, was she enjoying being huddled up like that?

"Her name is Tamara sir, she was the only one around you at the time of your accident," Josh said gleefully, William lost a lot of things in his accident, one was his driver, the other his memory and last, he had also temporarily lost the use of his legs which means, he is wheelchair bound. He was furious just looking at her, how did she do it? Who hired her to kill him? He was even curious to know how much they paid her for his life.

"You must be disappointed to see that I am alive," William said after carefully studying the girl who kept glaring at him. William thought she looked familiar, but he can't seem to place her face, because her mouth is still taped shut, she didn't respond. "I expect a reply when I talk to you," he all but screamed in her face, but at the moment, Tamara was past feeling intimidated. She was more or less hungry and tired and doesn't even care if they kill her or throw her away, soon it will all be over, she thought sadly. William couldn't understand why she was being defiant, she could easily remove the tape, yet she didn't. What does she hope to gain from acting stubborn? Looking over at his men, he asked someone to remove the tape, and they did so with much force, Tamara winced from the pain, she thought her mouth would bleed. Tears filled her eyes as she looked at the men before her, what has she gotten herself into? Who are these men? She couldn't figure out what the right answer was and only just stared at them. It would all be over soon, she told herself, once they realize she wasn't worth anything they would let her go or kill her. What is the point of begging for a life that is meaningless anyway?

"Well? Who are you working for?" William asked her now that her mouth is no longer taped, but the girl only looked up, confusion written all over her face. "Are you a mute or something?" William was already frustrated just speaking and getting no response, if he were able to walk, the girl before him would be begging for death right about now. "Mike, what is going on here, couldn't she talk?" he asked one of the guys when she still remained quiet.

"I promise you boss, she is not a mute," the guy who had taped her mouth spoke quickly wondering why the girl wasn't begging for mercy or trying to explain herself "Did you not hear the boss?" he said with a menace walking dangerously close to the girl on the floor. And as if to mock her further, her stomach choose that time to rumble, a reminder that she hadn't had anything to eat in several hours.
