In shadows deep, regret does lie,

A heavy burden, a mournful cry,

Through weary eyes, the past unfolds,

A haunting tale that never gets old.

Mistakes made in the heat of youth,

Echoes of promises, broken, uncouth,

Words unspoken, deeds undone,

Regret whispers in the stillness, one by one.

Oh, the roads not taken, the chances missed,

The dreams abandoned, the opportunities dismissed,

Regret, a silent specter, a constant ghost,

Haunting us, reminding us of what we lost.

But let us not be bound by regret's heavy chains,

Let us learn from our losses, our pains,

For in the depths of regret, a lesson lies,

To cherish each moment, before it flies.

So let us face our past with courage and grace,

Embracing our flaws, our mistakes we trace,

For in the crucible of regret, we find,

A chance for redemption, a soul refined.

Regret, a teacher, a guide in disguise,

A reminder to live, before time flies,

Let us heed its warning, its sorrowful song,

And strive to right our past, before too long.
