Episode 2- A Family secret

I took a walk through the palace and greeted the maids.

When I returned to my chambers,a letter was delivered to me,and it was written by my father.

"Dear Muzu..

How are you?  we've missed you back at home.

Your older brother has gone off to serve the imperial army and is to be seen in court the next day.

Hopefully we'll be able to see each other at the palace tomorrow.

I miss you my darling flower, I'll see you soon

As I finished reading the letter,a feeling of curiosity and love surged through me.i have a loving father in this life..

Back in my previous life..my father left me and my mother when I was 4.

I remember that my mother would often drink to soothe her pain...and that she would always push me into doing what I love while also being strict

I still have no memory of him..but my mother reminded me everyday about how horrible he was to both of us.

Just thinking about it now made me think a lot that I didn't know in my past life.

I sat at my desk writing a letter back to my father to thank him for thinking about me so much.

Yang came in, putting his sword by the door.

"Hello my love.. everything alright?"- Yang

"Yes I'm alright..I just got a letter from my father..my family is coming to the palace"- I signed

Yang sat right next to me and hugged me.

"It'll be alright..if anything goes wrong,I will handle things" - Yang

I looked up at Yang and sighed gently.

"I don't want you to worry about me,I wanna be able to handle stuff on my own too"- I signed

Yang looked at me with worry,then he nodded in agreement.

"I'm only saying it because your carrying our child" - Yang

I put my pen down,sat up, and hugged Yang. I knew he was worried about losing me.

"It's alright.. I'll be fine,I have you and thats all I need" I signed touching his face.

The next day,My father,my step mother, and my step sister came to the palace.

"Greetings your majesty.."

" Welcome Grand Duke Nuia"

My father glanced at me and gave me a hug.

"Oh My sweet child.."

My father came up to me and gave me a hug,I hugged him back with a smile.

"Will brother Hu-min be joining us?" I signed

"You're brother will be joining us a bit later, he's still maintaining military defenses as we speak"

My stepmother and sister glared at me and just looked the other way.

Yang clenched his fist and made a stren look towards them.

I signed- " ignore their rude behavior your majesty, their always like this"

Yang unclenched his fist and guided everyone to the dinning room

As everyone sat at the table,Ku-mi ,my half sister, glared at me intently and scoffed.

"So... how's everything going here at the palace"my father asked ,smiling at me from across the table.

" Everything is ok,the first couple of months were chaotic, but things are running smoothly now" I signed, telling my father I was doing well.

"Ugh...this place is way too fancy for you Muzu..I might have something that fits you way more" My stepmother said with a spiteful look on her face.

I don't really have any hate towards my stepmother or sister, because to be honest, what's to hate about them anyway?

Literally nothing at all because they don't stand a chance against Yang , period.

In my past life,Yang executed both Ku-mi and my stepmother,Lu-min.

Obviously if they did something to me, Yang would have really sliced their heads off in front of me... just thinking about it gives me chills...😖

Anyway!

After awhile, Ku-mi looked at me and decided to pour hot soup on my hand.

Yang banged his hand on the table and grabbed Ku-mi's neck.

"Y-your Majesty.. your..choking me!" Ku-mi said, trying to breathe.

"Good..then you can understand that I don't tolerate that kind of behavior in my Palace" Yang said, clenching his hands more on to Ku-mi's neck

"Your majesty please... she's just a girl,it was my fault for not teaching her properly" my father said bowing his head looking ashamed.

" It was not your fault Duke Nuia, however,it is the mother's fault for teaching her poor education on how to be polite,in other words... she's spoiled" Yang said glaring at my stepmother then letting go of Ku-mi.

Yang jestered his hand to call one of the maids over.

" Escort my wife back to our courters, I'll be back shortly"

"Your majesty I'm fine .. it'll -"

Yang stopped me and then said..

"No excuses,you need to go rest, it's the doctor's orders " yang said clasping my hands.

I nodded, and I stood up slowly.

"Please excuse us..as I need to urgently rest" I signed bowing my head down.

I said my goodbyes and walked back to my room with the maid escorting me.

As I arrived back to my room,I sat in front of my desk and just wrote a letter to my brother, after that I took off my robes and laid down.

Soon Yang returned stroking my head gently,I woke up as he continued to stroke my head.

"Y-yang..when did you get here" I signed rubbing my eyes.

"Just now...I sent your family Back to their home along with a warning for your sister and stepmother " yang said sitting me up straight.

"I'm sorry for the trouble that my stepmother and sister caused" I signed looking a little sad.

"Do not apologize for their wrong doings,that alone is not your fault" Yang said stroking my face.

Yang kissed me passionately and the feeling of love just rushed over me,like the world suddenly stopping just for this moment.

The next few days were more calmer,and I wrote a letter to my brother about the dinner with our family. Hu-min replied back to me..

Dear sister, war is gruesome and tiring,but I know that your there cheering me on from the palace, I'm glad that his majesty is treating you well and that I will soon have a new niece or nephew~

I will write to father soon,if I am able to..

Until we meet again dear little sister..

My eyes watered as I read my brother's letter,I haven't seen him before,but I know his personality is very kind and sincere.

Suddenly..the bedroom door opened.

"W-who are you..?"

" I'm 2nd Prince Ju-mei of Ten-shai Dynasty,and I'm also your biological brother"Ju-mei said glancing down at me.

"Why have you come..?" I signed, feeling a little scared.

Soon yang grabbed Ju by his collar.

"Get away from my wife..Now!" Yang demanded as he tugged on his collar even harder.

"Yang I'm unharmed, please calm down" I signed, telling him to release the man.

"You will leave my wife alone until we figure out why your here..." Yang said letting him go.

Ju-mei got up from the ground and walked out.

"Do not forget about what we discussed Empress Muzu" Ju-mei said Turning his head towards me and then walked away.

Yang walked over to be and lifted me up.

"Did he touch you?" Yang asked looking all around me.

"He didn't harm me or do any of those things yang.. I'm fine" I signed, hugging him

As he held on to me..I could feel a lot of questions buzzing through my head.. what was going to happen to me?..why do I feel like people are suddenly after me.

But..even so...I always knew that Yang would always be there to save me from harm.
