Episode 1- Ellisen moves in

"what the?" I said as I tried to scramble through all of my loose things while unpacking.honestly! Who wants to even move during their summer vacation??

Not me!

This is my final year of highschool and I couldn't wait to get back to learning.

"Elise! Have you seen my college books?" Clair asked coming into my room.I looked up at her and said "I don't know,did you try unpacking yet?".

Clair looked at me with a confused expression on her face and then remembered where she put her books.

Classic Clair..

Soon my mom came in shortly after.

"Are you finished unpacking yet Eli? We gotta get you to the hospital for your treatment" my mom said looking at me while holding a bag of clothes.

"No I'm not finished unpacking yet" I said trying to clean everything up.

Oh yea.. how silly of me for not giving an introduction..

My name is Elisen Evans Bronxly..and I have lung cancer.

To break everything down for you we're gonna start from the beginning..the very beginning..

My mother had me on December 11..the day my birth father had left us.

As soon as I was born,I was struggling to breathe, let's just say in simple terms,I wasn't a very lucky child that day.

But, this got even harder from there..

The doctors confirmed to my birth mom that I had an extreme lung condition that could have possibly killed me.

Over time,my birth mom was struggling to pay for my treatment..so on that very cold February...

My left me in the alley way.. with a breathing pack attached to me..

I was laying in a basket wrapped with a purple blanket.

Suddenly,a lovely couple (my adoptive parents) found me laying there,and took me to an adoption center.

When they took me there..they saw a letter attached to the basket.

It read..

Dear parents,if you're reading this,it means you have found my daughter.

Sadly I couldn't take care of her because I couldn't afford to pay for her treatment..

Her name is Elisen Evans daughter of Morgan Evans..my ex husband..

Please take good care of my little girl while I'm trying to figure things out.

That's all she wrote to my adoptive parents

.. right before they adopted me.

Soon enough,they found out about my condition when they took me to the hospital

Over time I kept on getting treatment..and of course,I was adopted,I have two siblings.

Clair, and John Michael.

Clair is starting college soon,and my older brother John went off to the military.

So yea.. this is my life now,am I happy?

Will I be satisfied this year..

Probably not.. because this was the year when someone is about to make my school year a living nightmare..and her name is Maddie Adams.

Anyway back to the story!

After I unpacked everything , me and my mom both got in the car and drove to the hospital.

Once we got there,I got through the examination, and then the doctor said..

" She's doing well..but in order to restore her lungs,we need to schedule a medical procedure for her"

Wait surgery??

I haven't even gotten surgery before..

Welp there goes my dignity 😑

"How long will the surgery take?"

"Only a few hours"

"Well, we'll schedule the surgery in December"

I looked around in panic.. please tell me that I wasn't going to have to spend the rest of my senior year..IN THE HOSPITAL?!

"It may take a while for her to recover"

I looked at him confused and said..

"How long??"

"About four to five months"

What the?? Really?!.. I'm going to have resting right through my last year of highschool!

"O..ok.."

After that,we went home..and I just sat there silent at the dinner table.

Let's just say I didn't feel comfortable talking about how I felt about getting the procedure during dinner..

After that..I took a shower and got ready for my first day of school.

Honestly.. I'm not ready to have my year being taken from me..but I don't have a choice.. that's it..
