Lots Of Problems, I See!

Lily and Jenny continue their talk, Jenny is having fun teasing Lily about Phi Cherry. But suddenly Lily gets serious saying there's a problem. The silence between them is making this awkward. To break the tense atmosphere, Jenny decides to talk.

"So what is the problem?" Jenny licks her lip with a serious face of curiosity.

"Actually, no. There are a lot of problems." Lily looks a Jenny with really tense eyes.

The environment gets even more tense and silent. Jenny looks at Lily with a confusing look. "So what are the "problems'?" She asks being a bit unnecessarily loud to break the silence emphasizing the word 'problems'.

Lily gulps out of nervousness."So, firstly, I think...... I like her!"

Jenny chokes on the water she is drinking "HUH? Ok, whatever! But how is that a problem?" Jenny gets quite annoyed.

"We are best friends!"

"You WERE. You were best friends. Not anymore!" Jenny screams it on Lily's face.

Lily seems to be thinking it through once again. Don't worry. She's just a bit stupid in general. "You're right!" It just clicks her mind.

"So, what are the actual problems? Dumbo!" Jenny laughs at her stupidity.

"Stop laughing! I don't know why people are so scared of her!" Lily sulks and then her face changes into a bit concerned.

"Now that seems like a real problem! What about any other?" Jenny gets worried.

"I was her best friend but she never told me about her family and never invited me to her house." Lily seems a bit upset and looks really worried.

"Are you saying you were friends for 3 years and she never introduced you to her family?"

"Yes but no. We were neighbours so I already saw her father but she never invited me over or talked to me about her family!"

"Now that problem seems like hard to solve! Why did you never ask her?"

"I didn't realise it until later."

"Of course, you didn't!" Jenny sighs.

"So, you want me to help you solve your 'problems'?" Jenny raises her eyebrow.

"Well, you are more experienced than me and smarter too in this case so please..."

Jenny rolls her eyes as she looks onto Lily who's trying butter her for her help. But she knows she's not the girl to be gaslighted easily. "Well, what's in it for me?" Jenny asks with a smirk.

Lily knows she can't fight against Jenny and just gave up. "Fine!! I'll buy lunch for you tomorrow."

"Deal, then. Let's start with the first problem." Jenny shows a sneaky smile. "So... Are you sure you like her?"

"Well, that's the problem, no! I've never had this feeling before!"

"How come? Haven't you dated so many guys?"

"Well, I didn't like any of them! They dated me for my looks and I dated them for money and free gifts. But you know, this time..... It's...... Different." Lily looks down. Obviously blushing and shy.

"Now I see why none of them lasted more than 4 months!" Jenny shakes her head. "I think first, you need to be sure about your feelings. We'll see about the rest when we get there. Ok, now that you know each other's names, try to stay close to her and follow your heart. BUT please don't be too obvious. I mean who am I kidding? But please..." Jenny starts to lecture Lily seriously out of concern.

"Okay, ok! I'll try!!" Lily doesn't sound very convincing right now. "So let's move on to the next problem.'' lily's now trying to brush it off.

"Ok about people being scared of her, you can just ask those people about the reason." Jenny simplifies it and then understands how this idea would've never come into the small brain of Miss Lily!

"Right!" Lily exclaims as if she just invented this. Jenny sighs. "Let's continue. About the family issue, I suppose she doesn't want anyone to know about it yet or she would've told you herself. So you need to gain her trust so that she trusts you enough to share it with you." Jenny advises.

"How do I make her trust me?" Lily scratches her head.

"Oh, little baby! Spend time with her, chat with her, try to be her friend first." Jenny exclaimes.

"But I don't wanna be friendzoned."

"Then make your intentions clear from the beginning. If she wants, she'll let you in her life on her own."

"OKAY" Lily takes a deep breath. "You can do it, Lily.''

The Next Day

Cherry is sitting in cafeteria with her friend Del, silently thinking about something. Lily barges in and touches Cherry's shoulder. Cherry feels chills all over her body when that warm hand touches her skin. She turns around to see someone she wasn't really expecting. "What is it, Lily?" She asks with a soft voice.

''Phi..., can I sit here? My friends are all gone!" Lily pouts.

Cherry looks at Del. "Sure. We were just about to go!" Del says squinting her eyes a little bit. "No.... Phi! I want to sit with you!" The pretty voice of Lily suddenly turns into a voice of a baby begging for candy.

"Okay?!?" Cherry exclaims. "Do you need anything?"

Lily shakes her head to a 'no' in response.

Cherry and Del look at each other confusingly having no idea what's happening. "Why do you want to sit with us? Aren't we your senior?" Del asks giving Lily a weird look.

"I am just lonely, phi. Age is just a number. Can't I be your friend?"

Although Lily doesn't seem very convincing, they shake their heads as a 'yeah' but are looking at her suspiciously the whole time.

"So you're in your first year of university, right, Lily?" It is getting awkward so Del tries to start a conversation.

"Kha (yes)" Lily replies. "So do you like someone yet?"

Although Del asks the question jokingly, it still sends chills down her spine. She starts hesitating. Jenny's words starts echoing in her mind. 'make your intentions clear', she says. Lily gets so nervous she starts fidgeting. Cherry notices that and tries to calm her down. "Hey, it's okay if you can't answer. She's just asking jokingly." Feeling Cherry's hand on her back, Lily's heart starts beating fast but soon, makes her calm down.

"Thank you" Lily says thanking Cherry for calming her down.

"It's okay."

"I was just joking. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable! Sorry!" Del apologises.

"I am fine, phi. It's okay." Lily says.

But her mind is still in her world of imagination. Should she make it clear? But how can she be clear to her when she is not even sure herself. Why is this so complicated?
