Enforced Love
...In the bustling streets of the city, where the scent of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the sounds of hurried footsteps, two figures collided amidst the chaos. The collision sent papers flying and coffee spilling, creating a chaotic scene....
"What are you doing here?" exclaimed Alex, his voice tinged with annoyance as he tried to gather his scattered papers.
"I could ask you the same thing," retorted Nathan, his brows furrowed in frustration as he attempted to wipe the coffee stains from his shirt.
Their eyes met in a heated glare, each one refusing to back down. Alex, with his tousled hair and piercing gaze, exuded an air of confidence that bordered on arrogance. Nathan, on the other hand, stood tall with an air of authority, his sharp features softened by an underlying warmth.
It was a clash of personalities from the very first moment they met, a collision that would set the stage for the tumultuous journey ahead.
As they reluctantly helped each other gather their belongings, a sense of familiarity washed over them. They had crossed paths before, but never in such close proximity. Fate seemed to be playing a cruel joke on them, weaving their lives together in unexpected ways.
"Sorry about that," Nathan muttered, offering a sheepish smile as he handed Alex a stray document.
Alex accepted it with a curt nod, his lips pressed into a thin line. "Watch where you're going next time," he replied, unable to hide the irritation in his voice.
With a huff, Nathan turned to leave, eager to put the encounter behind him. But fate had other plans in store for them.
As they went about their respective days, their thoughts kept drifting back to the chance meeting. There was something about the other that sparked both curiosity and frustration, a magnetic pull that neither could deny.
Little did they know, their paths would cross again sooner than they expected, and this time, it would be under even more peculiar circumstances.
As the sun began to set and the city lights flickered to life, Alex found himself standing in front of an elegant mansion, his heart pounding in his chest. This was it – the moment he had been dreading ever since he received the news from his parents.
He was about to meet his biggest enemy, Nathan, once again, but this time, it was not by chance. This time, it was by design.
Taking a deep breath, Alex pushed open the ornate gates and made his way towards the imposing front door. As he stepped inside, he was greeted by the sound of laughter and chatter, a stark contrast to the turmoil raging within him.
"Welcome, Alex," a voice called out, pulling him out of his reverie.
Turning towards the source of the voice, Alex found himself face to face with Nathan's parents, who greeted him with warm smiles and outstretched hands.
"Thank you for coming," Mrs. Anderson said, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "We have someone we'd like you to meet."
Before Alex could respond, Nathan appeared at his mother's side, a smirk playing on his lips. "Well, well, if it isn't my dear old rival," he said, his tone laced with sarcasm.
Alex bristled at the remark, his hands clenched into fists at his sides. He had known that this meeting would be difficult, but he had never imagined it would be this agonizing.
"Let's not waste any time, shall we?" Mr. Anderson interjected, oblivious to the tension between the two young men. "Nathan, Alex, I'm sure you're both wondering why we've asked you here tonight."
The air grew heavy with anticipation as Nathan and Alex exchanged wary glances. They had a feeling they weren't going to like what they were about to hear.
"Your mothers and I have come to a decision," Mr. Anderson continued, his expression grave. "We've decided that it's time for the two of you to put your differences aside and work together."
Alex felt his heart sink at the words, his worst fears coming to life before his very eyes. He had hoped that this meeting would bring an end to the feud between their families, but now, it seemed that their parents had other plans in mind.
"What do you mean?" Nathan asked, his voice betraying a hint of uncertainty.
Mrs. Anderson smiled knowingly, her gaze flickering between the two young men. "We've arranged for the two of you to get married."
