Chapter 5: Mysterious and Interesting.

Anna walked to her uncle and stood in front of him. "Princess, look the guest is here. You might know him", Anthony smiled. Anna gave a look that said Seriously, uncle?

She turned to the person sitting on the opposite sofa to her. He gazed at her with a blank look. "What are you looking at like that?", she wanted to speak but kept quiet. "Well, I think I've to introduce you both", Anthony spoke helplessly.

"So, this is Anna Jane my Godniece. Anna this is Ryan King", Anthony introduced. "Hmm", Anna responded coldly and turned to leave but a voice stopped her.

"Won't you even greet me?", she turned to look at Ryan who was staring at her with an unreadable expression as he smiled at her. "I don't greet people who don't acknowledge me", she said coldly and arrogantly.

His smile grew wider as he nodded and stood up the walked towards her. He was wearing a dark suit piece that hugged his muscles perfectly. His hands were covered with matching gloves. His hairs perfectly styled making them look fluffy as they stood up and were combed a bit backwards.

"I acknowledge you, Ms. Anna Jane. Nice to meet you", he said with a smile and took her right hand and kissed on the top of her hand. She pulled her hand back and looked at him with a cold expression.

"I don't like it when someone touches me without my permission", she said coldly. "I didn't touch you without your permission. You said you don't greet people who don't acknowledge you, so I did. It's my way to acknowledge YOU!", he said the word you with more emphasis.

She glared at him and then went to sit beside her uncle.

"Interesting", Ryan murmured and sat back to his earlier place.

"Uncle, why did you invite Mr. King here?", Anna asked with a voice void of any emotions. "You'll know soon." She rolled her eyes at him. Ryan chuckled. Anna glared at him. Who does he think he is to laugh at me? Humph!

"Uncle, I'm going out for a walk", Anna said and walked out of the mansion.

"Is she really your niece?", Ryan asked as he saw Anna walk out. "Yes." Ryan smiled. "She's so childish. What's her age? And profession?", he asked.

"She's 24. As for her profession, I think it'd be fun only when you know it later. She's not childish for everyone but if she shows you her that side then you're a lucky one. You should feel honoured." Ryan nodded.

"She's just three years younger than me. You're full of suspense like always. Can't you just tell me what she does?"

"Why? Are you interested in her?"

Ryan smirked and said, "She's interesting."

"And you're interested." Ryan chuckled. "Are you serious to the point that you'll marry her and take care of her for the rest of your life?"

"I can't tell that now since we just met."

"Sometimes only one meet is enough to make you realise if you really want to be with that person for the rest of your life. She's a mystery that only some people can solve. If you can solve her, I'll let you be with her."

"I'll try my best to solve the mystery, my mystery", Ryan whispered the last part.

Next day, everyone was busy with the arrangements for the party which was to happen this evening. Suddenly, a man wearing all white entered. He looked noble and calm as if he's not from this world.

"Master, he's here", the butler informed Anthony who was in his study room. He got up and called both Ryan and Anna. They went downstairs to see the man.

The man smiled looking at Ryan and Anna. "Don't let go of her hand or she'll fly away far from you", he said to Ryan who was all confused so was Anna but Anthony knew very well about this man.

"Anna, don't let your past ruin your future and present. Hold him tightly or you'll lose him", the man said to Anna with a calm smile. Anna looked at him then at Ryan with a confused look.

"You have many hardships to face. If you don't go on this road together, both of you'll lose your path of life." Anna was not pleased at all with what the man was saying. She didn't need any man with her to protect her.

"I know you don't need any man to protect you but sometimes, even the most powerful person too need a shoulder to lean on. You've lot of success ahead in your life. If you grab onto each other's hand more success and happiness is to come."

"If you let go of each other, I'm afraid you both will lose..." Before the man could say further Ryan held Anna's hand and said, "Never ever. I don't like losing. I'll hold her." Anna glared at him which didn't do anything to him.

The man smiled.

Anna frowned. "I don't need love. Love is not meant for me. It's a luxury I can never afford."

The man seemed to understand her because he smiled calmly and answered her. "Then let him give you the luxury. I can't tell you much about your life because it will cause harm to you and both of your fates. I'll just say that never let go of each other and hold each other."

Anna got out of Ryan's grip and went to her room.

"Don't worry, I'll not let go of her ever", Ryan grinned at the man. The man smiled and blessed them. Ryan went back to his room leaving the man and Anthony alone.

"Anthony, isn't she your niece?", the man asked and Anthony nodded. "She has many hardships ahead and only that man can help her out or she'll end up dying out of sorrow. She has two choices now. If she chooses to stay by that child's side then her future will be bright. If she chooses the other way then she'll die early."

Anthony frowned hearing the man's words but couldn't say anything as he was well aware that the man would never lie or predict wrong. The reason he chose Anna as the next Queen was also because of this man and he was happy that he listened to the man or the gang was sure to disappear within only a year after his retirement.

"She's a capable child and has a beautiful fate but if she doesn't have a shoulder to lean on then she's sure to die out of depression and sorrow. Either she'll fall for this child or there's another man she can fall for but that will just mess her fate as well as his."

"I understand. But my niece is too stubborn to listen to me", Anthony said helplessly. "Then let the King handle his Queen. Only he's capable to manage her temperament and emotions", the man smiled and then left after giving some piece of advice to Anthony.

"I need to make this stubborn girl understand that love is something she can also afford", Anthony sighed. He wanted his niece to be happy which will lead to other's happiness. But he had no idea of how to do it.

He went to Ryan's room and knocked on his door. Soon, Ryan opened the door. "Yes, uncle?", he asked with a blank tone. "Did you mean what you said just a while ago?", Anthony asked as he entered his room.

Ryan nodded. "I never say things recklessly you know me better. Last night I couldn't sleepy because of her. She had been occupying my mind and me too much so right now I really want to solve this mysterious girl and hold her for the rest of my life."

Anthony thought for a while then said, "If you dare to break my niece's heart I'll break you." Ryan chuckled and nodded. "Who will dare to mess with the former Mafia King?!"

"You're no less in that comparison", Anthony said. Ryan smirked. Anthony left after talking with Ryan a bit.
