It had been two days since I last saw him. Which was good, because my head was full of problems and I didn't know how to face such a bizarre agreement in the midst of all that mess. An agreement that could end my freedom. So I focused on my work. I still had installments to pay on the apartment, and I wasn't going to throw it all away for an adventure in the middle of nowhere.
When I left work, Brenda invited me to go to the movies. She said a new Marvel movie had been released that we couldn't miss. I accepted right away, as I love superhero movies and needed to relax after a tiring day. We chose the 6 pm session and imagined what the movie had in store for us. On the way, we talked about our favorite characters, the theories we had about the plot, and the expectations we created.
In the end, it wasn't what we expected, but we managed to distract ourselves a lot. The movie had a lot of action, humor, and special effects, but also some predictable and cliche scenes. Still, we had a lot of fun.
We said goodbye in a hurry after leaving the mall, almost at ten o'clock at night. The area where she lived was too dangerous for her to walk alone, and her brother wouldn't stop complaining on WhatsApp that he didn't want to pick her up. But at least we enjoyed our day together.
I was exhausted when I got home. It was a long and stressful day at work, and I just wanted to shut off from everything. Since I had the next day off, I could sleep in as late as I wanted. I collapsed on the couch as soon as I locked the door and fell asleep. I didn't care about the light on or the clothes I was wearing. I just wanted to close my eyes and forget about the world.
I slept without feeling my body. It felt like the God of sleep was carrying me in his arms through a world of dreams and fantasies while my eyes struggled to open, but sleep was stronger and I surrendered until I touched the comfort of my bed. I snuggled into the soft sheets, feeling the warmth and scent of my pillow. I smiled, satisfied, and let the silence and darkness engulf me.
When I woke up, the night had already taken over the place. I was in my bed and a huge shadow was projected beside me.
"You sleep so gracefully," he spoke and I freaked out. I let out a scream and jumped out of bed, crashing to the floor. I would have hurt myself if he hadn't been quick enough to catch me in his arms.
"How did you get in here?"
"I came in through the window." He settled me back on the bed and turned on the bedside lamp.
"But I live on the seventh floor."
"I know. I almost fell." He leaned over me and wrapped me in his arms. "But I can't stand seeing you from afar anymore."
"Now you're too close," I whispered, and he realized his nose was caressing mine.
"Let me feel you?" He begged and I remembered my mother's words. "Ah, yes, it is time to mate." I pushed his chest with my hand, trying to get rid of him.
"No. I didn't agree to any of this." Christophe fell on the bed when I pushed him aside and I jumped away. He laughed. "Such a pervert, yuck. And since when did I give you permission to break into my house?"
"You'll find it funny when you remember." He looked at me with a strange smile, but it was as if he was talking more to himself than to me. I shook my head and tried to get him off the bed.
"Get out of here, dog. Shoo shoo."
Christophe turned on the bed and I went face down on the covers, he lay on top of me. I felt one of his hands stroking my back, sending chills down my spine. He supported his weight on a single arm and his chest brushed against my back.
"If you keep calling me that I'm going to have to punish you, Diana." His words caressed my ears like a gentle breeze. When he said my name, something inside me shattered into a thousand pieces and I felt a shiver run down my spine.
"What do I do to get you to leave me alone?" I asked, trying to hide the fear and attraction he caused in me.
"That's not going to happen. I need you and I need you to come with me." He spoke with an intensity that took my breath away.
"Right, it makes perfect sense for me to leave my life behind and go away with a guy who told me a crazy legend. You could be a deep web kidnapper trying to sell me around." I said sarcastically.
Christophe let me go, sat up on the bed, and watched me straighten up.
"If I were something like that, I would have already hurt you. Why would I waste time convincing you of anything?" he asked indignantly.
"Well..." I tried to think of something else to hold on to, but his blue eyes were calling to me in a strange way.
"Diana." he whispered my name. His body inched towards me and he sniffed me for a few seconds. "Why do you always run away when your body responds to mine?"
Once again I felt everything tingle and the urge to run away was huge, but he put his hand on my waist and fitted me against his body preventing me from moving a muscle. Christophe continued to sniff.
"I noticed you got even more alarmed when your mother said about mating season." He went down my body, leaving me completely inert to his touch. "I understand."
He said as he reached my belly. His blue eyes were gone when he looked back at me. They were completely dominated by the black of his pupils. The sound he made this time was different from a growl, something sly and full of desire.
He climbed up my body, our eyes locked on each other. He licked his lips and let his thick voice release the words seductively.
"You are still a virgin."
