a"What did you ever learn?" Sohma asked me one day gently when he came back from work. He felt tired but smelled my cooked dish of corn filled pastry.
"Is that our dinner?" He asked smartly with a smile.
I nodded. Sohma replied with a gentle response, "Asuza told me that it's not nice to eat pork especially in night. It's great that you made some fish to go with the pastry."
I smiled and then took the warm pastry out of the oven as it went tick. Decorating it with parsley I put along cooked fish near the pastry on the tray.

The dish was served to our family members. In prior to the delicious taste, I'd read in my books that corn
is the key factor to emphasize the ideal way of letting pain go if you eat it. That was the case with Natsumi.
When she ate the corn, she suddenly felt her eyes fill with tears. As I saw her wiping it away, I was surprised she could actually cry.
"That's her way of letting the pain go," Mother Asuza said. "She failed the first exam and didn't tell us. Now we found out because she's crying?"
I smiled. Natsumi would pass in the final test.

As far as I know, my husband Sohma rarely ever lost his temper, let alone act verbally aggressive. When he did lose his temper he regretted it and he was upset. Once he made me almost cry, critiquing me that I'd never be good at anything since I couldn't even write the letter Mai.
When he asked my forgiveness, he'd shut himself in his room and locked the door. The key was next to him. He made sure no one saw him. Tears filled his eyes as he thought What should I do? Then he broke down crying, softly.
After few seconds, he heard his name called. I said it. Wiping his tears, he slowly opened the door with trembling hands that he controlled. He let his temper out - barely.
"Tell me," I said comfortingly. "Why did you critizise me?"
He told the reason, and then begged to be allowed to go watch the grand tennis Prix. With me and Natsumi.
"The Prix?" I asked.
-
Natsumi's brother didn't win at the Prix. He felt disappointed but desperately asked another way to gain money for the charity in Kyoto.
Sensing the disappointment, Sohma suggested, "Why don't you start teaching the students at high school? Or, if better, you should work as a chef in Tokyo's restaurants!"
"I am good in cooking," Tears now arrived in the brother's eyes. But he wiped them away. "So, how can I apply for that job?"
Natsumi laughed out loud.
As if she knew her brother wasn't gonna win. I scolded her, "That wasn't nice. Your brother sacrificed so hard to win this match." So she learnt her it.
