Father's Day

Finally, the three of them pulled away from the hug and stopped crying but ended up with puffy red eyes. Because of that Aria went to the kitchen to make them hot chocolate leaving Trixie, Jake and the twins behind in the living room. The four of them sat down in silence until the twins opened their mouths and asked in a sad tone why he didn't come to meet them sooner. They added everyday other kids moms and dads would pick them up from school, and they just watch them wondering where their dad is as they only have their mum and Aria. They didn't say anything to them because they didn't want them to worry and mentioning him makes their mother sad which they didn't want to happen they said between their sniffling.

Before he could answer Aria came in with five hot chocolates for all of them. As they were drinking it Jake remembered the toys he brought for them and stood up to get them from the table. He handed it to them and told them that it's a present he bought for them, and he hopes they like it because he put careful consideration into what to buy. They opened it and saw a bunch of toys including the newly released toys they were talking about with their friends a few days ago at school. They jumped on top of him and hugged him saying thank you dad. Aria and Trixie who were watching the whole scene whispered between each other that the twins have gotten more comfortable calling him dad and thought that it should be okay to let him visit more often.

Aria then told them that they should all take a bath and brush their teeth because someone came early in the morning waking all of them up, she said while glaring at Jake. So the four of them went up to get ready after finishing their hot chocolates. Jake stood up offering to them that he could help get the twins ready. Aria and Trixie agreed because they themselves needed to get ready, and they thought that it would be a good chance for them to have a father and sons moment. After they all got ready they

came downstairs only to see Jake with his hair completely soaked trying to dry it with a towel. They burst out laughing and between laughs Aria said to him, "Oh, did I forget to tell you that they like to splash water around in the bathtub".

Jake laughed sarcastically saying to her that it was very funny. The twins ran to Aria and Trixie with a huge smile on their faces and told them that their friends should be coming soon. They looked at them with a confused expression and asked who. That's when the twins reminded them that their neighbors Josephine and Charles are coming over to play with them. That's when they remembered that they set it up before all the drama happened, so they quickly got everything ready for them to have fun that day. They completely forgot about Jake, so he decided to just sit there playing games with the twins. A few minutes after they were done they heard the doorbell ring Aria opened it and saw Josephine and Charles standing there with a box of cookies as a gift for them.

Once they entered they ran to the twins and hugged them telling them that they're ready for a fun time with them today. The twins started by showing off their new toys that Jake had gotten for them and Josephine and Charles looked in awe at the newest model of toys and many more were with them. They said to the twins that they can't believe that Trixie and Aria would buy it for them. The twins told them that it was their dad that bought and gave it to them. Josephine and Charles looked at each other in confusion, and then they looked at the twins.

They told the twins that they thought they didn't have a father because that's what they told them a few days ago when they asked if their father is coming for the Father's Day celebration in school. Jake heard it all and got up from the chair he was sitting on and asked what Father's Day celebration they're talking about. That's when the four of them talked about every kid bringing their father to school and the father will say thing about themselves and their jobs.

Josephine and Charles added that because the twins said they didn't have a dad they were planning to not go to school that day. Aria and Trixie also heard this and wondered what they could do, because they didn't want them to miss out on a day that they could have had fun with their friends just because of their stubbornness. That's when they heard Jake start talking telling the twins that he could go if they wanted. Aria was about to tell him he's not going till she saw the smile of excitement on the twins faces and decided to keep her mouth shut. The twins asked," can you really come dad"?

Jake laughed and told them that he would never miss it. Josephine and Charles said to them wow is he really your dad. They added no wonder you two are the most popular and good-looking in our class looking at your parents it's obvious, and I remember I've seen both of them on the news before they're amazing. The twins blushed at the sudden praise and Trixie walked up to them calling them a couple of sweethearts while patting their heads.

Aria clapped her hands and told the twins that they should take their friends to their room to play. They all ran up to the room excitedly and Aria looked at Jake and told him that the door is to his right. She started trying to push him out, so he tried making excuses for why he should stay longer. Once she finally took him out the door he told her that he just had one more thing to say to her. He cleared his throat and said to her that he's never seen her keep her mouth shut when he's involved, and that it feels very refreshing. In a fit of rage she slammed the door in his face and shouted that he should never come back.

Aria let out an exasperated sigh and lazily walked towards the chair and sat down. Then she looked at Trixie and said should we really let him go for their Father's Day Trixie told her that did she see how happy the twins were when he said that to them. She couldn't bear making them cry by telling them they can't let him go. Aria looked down sadly and asked if Trixie herself was okay. Trixie told her with a slight smile that she's fine and thinking about it doesn't make her feel sad anymore, and she should also stop worrying about her. Aria got up and said that she's going to watch the kids to make sure they don't hurt themselves while playing. As she went upstairs Trixie sank into the couch and fell into a deep sleep.
