Life Hanging by a Thread

Eveline was now crying tears of joy because it was the Knight Commander of the Red Phoenix Squad Hunter Gonzales. Since Emelius was already severely injured by Eveline's lightning bolt he knew that he couldn't take on Knight Commander Gonzales, so he escaped with all his might. He used his ice to make a pathway for him to escape while Eveline was being tended to. In his head during his escape he was thinking about why he felt so relieved and why he froze in the critical moment. He let go of the distractions and decided to go back to his Kingdom, Portalius. He spent many days and nights travelling to his Kingdom on his ice. During the time he was still severely injured and was enduring the pain as more and more blood was gushing out of him.

Finally, he'd arrived at his Kingdom after what seemed like years though it was only a few days. And passed out at the palace gates the guards saw him, so they decided to carry him inside to his bedroom which he hasn't been to for 10 years. When he woke up after a week he saw his family on his bed crying. He tried to talk, but words wouldn't come out because of how dehydrated he was. So he started moving around and that's when they noticed he was awake. The whole family shed tears of joy because they'd thought that he'd never wake up. Because they wanted Emelius to rest they left the room but during that time he couldn't sleep eat or do anything because he was depressed. He himself didn't know why until he dreamed of the princess and beautiful sun like smile that he's always liked. He didn't know why he was like this till later on when he had a realization that he was in love with Eveline. And he hurt the one he loved.

Weeks later he started to feel better little by little, but that's when his father (King of Portalius) told him news that shocked him. He told him that about the letter he sent the reason why Eveline had light powers for healing was because they are also descendants of the light dragon but because it is extremely rare to see a person awaken light he was never told. But the more pressing matter at hand was that she awakened all the powers of her bloodline at five which could spell the end of Portalius. Emelius asked if they also have something like that the king replied with a yes that they're also descendants of Poison Dragon which specializes in poison. But nobody had awakened it for millions of years. But in reality Emelius had that power he knew because seven years ago when he was ten in the palace he was playing with the princess in the garden, but the surrounding flowers withered for some reason, and he was blamed and punished for that. So he decided to withhold that piece of information for now. Then what his father told him next shocked him the war wasn't because they wanted to see whose powers were stronger it was because a long time ago an ancestor of Portalius had poisoned an ancestor of Firencia to death, and he was caught. The Kingdom refused to let them take him because he awakened the poison power. Because of that war started between the two countries.

The new piece of information he'd heard left him shook, so at that moment he told his father he already awakened the poison power. His father smiled with joy saying he's going to start his training right at that moment. As soon as his father had told him he trained in the rain, at night, and even when he was sick he kept training to control his power so that one day he could go to the battlefield to fight for his Kingdom. But with all that training the sadness in his heart never went away because during that whole time he could only think about how sad and scared Eveline must have been. He thought that as time passed so would his feelings but as time went on he couldn't stop thinking about her. In his last attempt at dispelling his feelings he asked his father to let him fight at the front lines. At the time because his powers were strong, and he could control them, his father with a sigh and a sad expression on his face replied yes.

So the king reluctantly made a royal decree that his twenty two-year-old son Emelius was to go to the front lines of the battlefield to fight. And Emelius accepted it, packed up that night and left the following day. He fought well defending his Kingdom during the war. To the point where he had a name in Firencia which is the Dragon Prince because he was fierce, ruthless and as strong as a dragon. With all his ancestry power within him, he dominated the battlefield for two whole years. Until one day, a new female soldier was sent to the battlefield of Firencia to take back their land. She had already recovered most of their land that he had procured with great effort. When he found out her location was close to his camp he immediately ran out to fight and kill her. But when he saw her face he froze in place crying because it was…………………
