Ten minutes later, the group reach a split in the dirt road. One of the paths led to the top of a very tall, huge hill, which they now had to climb. There were dirt steps leading up to the top.
"Well, girls, it's right atop this hill here," Jonah announces.
"What? No way!!! Should've said that before I came all this way..." Grace cries.
All three girls collapse to the ground, breathing heavily and audibly through their mouths.
"Care for a lift? After all, our honored guest shouldn't have to climb up this tall hill."
Jonah crouches to the ground with his back facing the girls.
"N-no thanks, I don't trust men just like that."
"What about you, Caedi?"
Caedi stays silent for a few seconds.
"No thank you," she slowly says.
"Iah?"
Iah says nothing and simply hops onto Jonah's back. Jonah stands up and looks at Caedi.
"Oh, and don't fall too far behind now."
He taps on his collar playfully, and Caedi's eyes widen. Her mind recalls his encounter with the police officer, the whole reason why she hadn't successfully escaped his grasp.
"The girl, I want her. Bring my darling to me."
"I-I am afraid we can't do that."
"She has a collar on, which means she belongs to me now."
"If she gets too far away from me...you don't know what could happen~"
Jonah walks up the hill, and Caedi quickly tried to follow behind him.
"CeCe, wait, let's rest a little, please."
Grace forcibly goes up with her, not wanting to be left behind.
Jonah talks to Iah resting on his back, her face is resting comfortably on him.
"So how is it?"
"Hm?"
"Liking your experience so far?"
"It leaves much to be desired."
"Like what?"
"Hmm...more time like this maybe?"
"Did you miss me that much?"
"Ever since you and Caedi broke up, you never came back to visit. My dad went back to his old ways with you not coming over as often as you did."
"It's okay; big brother will make life better for you now."
"I want to believe you, but you did hurt me earlier despite promising that you wouldn't."
"That was a one-time thing, I swear."
Iah stays silent then squeezes Jonah.
"I forgive you, but if you do it again..." She then whispered into his ear, "Just kill me, okay?"
"It's a deal."
Iah frowns.
"I can't see them right now, but Caedi really is the only one who can lift the color in your eyes, huh?"
"What can I say?"
Jonah reached the top of the hill and set Iah down.
"I can promise, though, that I still feel the same way about the both of you."
Caedi and Grace stops halfway up the hill, exhausted.
"I told you we should have taken a break before climbing," Grace says.
Both the girls look up to see Jonah coming down the hill. He crouches down in front of them.
"Well, reconsidering?"
"You bet. I've never regretted a decision this much yet in my life."
Jonah holds out a collar to Grace.
"Put this on and say, 'Master, please carry me.'"
"What? You see, this is why I don't trust men."
She takes the collar anyway and puts it on. Her eyes glowed red.
"Well?"
"Master, would you please do me the honor of carrying me?"
"Oh, you took it a step further. I like that. Come on, hop on my back."
After she did so Jonah stands up then walks behind Caedi and picks her up in his arms.
"Don't cry, my love, I'll carry you up too."
Tears are on the verge of falling out of Caedi's eyes, but then she looks Jonah in the eyes. He looks back, his eyes brighten, and he smiles at her. Caedi looks away, and her tears draw back.
When they reach the top of the hill, he lets Grace down but continues carrying Caedi. She tries to wriggle out of his hands, but he holds firmly onto her.
"Don't worry; I'll carry you the rest of the way. It's not that much further."
Caedi concedes, and they all walk a few more strides until just behind some trees there is a cabin there in all its glory, looking very freshly built.
Jonah rests Caedi down on the porch and unlocks the cabin door.
