chapter 4: a deadly night on the town

By the time Shade makes her way to Muskogee it's already night.

"That's fine, I'm used to killing at night."

she starts to walk around the mostly silent streets.

"Okay the letter said he's a crackhead. hmpf it's Muskogee most the Fuckers here are crackheads! ugh, what am I supposed to do? kill every crackhead I see until one of them is Bill Philips?!"

And that's exactly what she started doing.

She finds a crackhead doing crack at a bus stop.

"the fuck do you want cunt?!"

the crackhead yells before Shade kicks his neck hard enough to brake it

"alright, let's hope this degenerate has some kinda id."

Shade says before searching his wallet

"Let's see, crack, crack, more crack, crack, a crackpipe, a lighter, a turd, a finger, Ooh yes an eviction notice, That should have his name on it."

She reads it

"Fuck... it's not him"

She crumbles up the notice before tossing it at his body

"at least since it's Muskogee I don't have to hide him..."

She runs to find another one.

she finds one, kills him, not Bill

"ugh"

She finds another, kills him, not Bill

"fuck"

She finds yet another, kills him, his name is Bill, just not Philips

"dammit, so close."

She finds two fighting over a dead rat, She kills them, neither is Bill.

"shit"

She finds one jerking off to a dog he's hallucinating is Medusa Gorgon from soul eater, She kills him, not Bill.

"this is getting annoying!"

She sees a cop car a few meters away

"shit"

She runs into an alley, the cop drives past the crackhead's corps without doing anything.

"phew, I think I'll stick to the rooftops"

She spends the rest of her search scouting from the rooftops.

"it's never this fuckin hard to find a target... I wish the others weren't sick."

She just runs, and leaps across rooftops, killing crackheads.

as She runs, She just hears, police sirens, shooting, fighting, glass breaking, and occasionally it's quite enough for her to enjoy the night. the stars, the moon, the cool air on her skin. until the typical Muskogee sounds start again.

She sits on a roof taking a break.

"this is usually so easy..."

She looks down and sees... a kid?!

"Why is he out so late..?"

that's when a crackhead goes up to the kid

"GIVE ME CRACK MONEY OR I'LL KILL YOU'RE FAMILY!!!"

the kid looks scared and says

"I-i swear I don't have money!"

The crackhead starts hitting, and screaming at the kid.

Shade stands up.

"oh hell naw"

She jumped down

"Hey asshole!"

The crackhead turns to Shade

"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT BITCH?!!! I'M TRYING TO GET CRACK MONEY!!"

Shade punches the crackhead hard in the chest, smashing his ribs, and puncturing a lung.

"OWW..! fuck how am I supposed to smoke crack now?!"

"not my problem"

Shade says before kicking him in his head, killing him."

Shade turns her attention to the kid

"P-please don't hurt me miss monster lady"

he starts crying.

Shade walks up to him... and puts her hand on his shoulder

"I don't hurt kids."

the boy looks up at Shade

"R-really?"

Shade smiles

"I may be a monster, but I'm no "monster"

the kid looks confused

"Are you stupid?"

Shade laughs

"you'll get it one day kid, now go home."

the kid nods before walking away.

Shade looks in the Crackhead's pocket.

"Dammit... not Bill"

**one hour of searching crackheads later**

Shade is sitting on the roof of a warehouse, looking at her phone.

"it's getting late... i... I don't think I can do this... it's too hard without my team..."

She feels like just giving up and going home

"maybe I'm not meant to take on these missions alone..."

Shade is really feeling discouraged.

but just as She felt like giving up, three black cars pull up to the warehouse.

"Huh?"

She sees a bunch of guys that look like drug dealers get out of the cars.

"who the fuck?..."

Then a crackhead gets out of a car. and as soon as Shade sees him She gets a gut feeling that he is the guy.

they all go inside the warehouse.

Shade sneaks over to the sunroof, opens one of the panels, and sneaks onto a support beam.

She listens in of their meeting.

"so... you've run out of crack again?"

the man who looks like the boss asks the crackhead.

"y-yeah, I smoked all of the last pack you gave me."

The crackhead says.

the boss drops a huge pack of crack on the table.

"look this one will last you a few months, but it'll cost ya, Bill Philips."

As soon as Shade heard that name she knew that the crackhead was her target.

She excitedly whispers to herself

"yeesss."

but she got so excited that she lost her footing and fell from the beam, landing right on the crack.

They all look at her, and the dealers pull out their guns.

"who the fuck are you?"

the boss asks

"uh... I'm uh..."

Shade doesn't know what to say

the boss cocks his gun

"not gonna answa? guess we'll shoot ya."

Shade felt for sure this was her end... but then

**crash**

Mysty jumps through the sunroof, landing on and crushing a guy, and braking another one's neck.

"MOM!"

Shade was so relieved before Mysty tackles her and knocks the table down making cover for them both as the dealers start shooting.

"Mom Why are you here? I thought you had to go kill someone."

Mysty smirks

"that was a lie. I didn't have a mission today, I was secretly following you the whole time."

Shade was shocked to hear that

"Why though?"

"Because before you got to the surface one of your friends called me and let me know that you told them that you were going on a solo mission, and I wanted to make sure you'd be ok. so I followed you to the surface in secret, and when I saw you where having, I showed myself.

I told you where we were, and how to get to Oklahoma."

Shade is absolutely Shocked a this reveal.

"So when we split up at the train station..."

Mysty finishes the sentence.

"I hid, and started to follow, and watch you from a distance. I'm proud of you helping that kid by the way"

Shade hugs her mom

"thanks for looking out for me... but how do we get out of here?..."

suddenly the gun fire stopped.

"Hey! why'd you idiots stop shootin?"

the boss asks

"we uh.. ran out of ammo boss"

one of his henchmen replies.

"Well reload you dumb fuck!"

the boss yells

"durr... about that.."

"You remembered to bring more ammo like I said right?..."

the boss asks suspiciously

"I didn't think we need more"

the cartoonishly stupid henchman says.

**smack**

"YOU FUCKING IDIOTS!!"

the boss chews his henchmen out

Mysty and Shade nod to each other, before jumping from their cover and running at the dealers.

two henchmen try to take shade, but she jumps and kicks them both in the heads.

Mysty kicks a guy down, and stomps his head in.

"these thick legs aren't just for show"

she quips.

Shade jumps on a guy's back, he tries to turn back and forth to knock her off, but Shade snaps his neck.

A guy grabs a bat and swings at Shade. She dodges every swing, and Mysty runs up and kicks the guy in the back, and Shade jumps and kick lands his chest.

It's now just the crackhead who's cowering in a corner, Shade, Mysty, And the boss.

"HOW THE FUCK!!!? you're a couple of chicks!!"

the boss says before Shade kicks him down, and Mysty sits on his chest crushing him.

Mysty stands up

"good thing it's laundry night, causemy pants got bloodon them now."

They look over and see Bill run out of the building.

Mysty smiles at Shade

"I'll leave the target to you"

Shade nods before darting out the door, She sees him going into a nearby alley.

She follows him

"GET AWAY BITCH!!"

he says..

Shade grins as she starts walking closer

"Oh?.. why don't you make me? come on, hit me like I hear you hit your wife."

Bill attempts to punch Shade but she quickly dodges it, and hits his elbow hard enough to brake his arm.

"AAAHHH!!! MY FUCKING ARM!!!"

Shade climbs on his shoulders, and starts strangling him with her legs

"You know... I should just kill you slowly... but I have so.ewhere to be so..."

**snap**

Bill's body falls, as Shade lands on her feet to see her mom come down the alley.

"good job Shade."

"Thanks mom... I think we should go home now"

Mysty leads the way somewhere

"Good idea"

They walk out of the city into a wooded area

"You know Shade... your dad would be so proud to see you fight."

Shade smiles

"he would?"

"he would."

they walk a while farther, until Mysty knocks on the ground

"Mysty, Species: Jester."

the ground opened up to show that there was another hidden trapdoor by Muskogee all along.

Shade facepalms as She follows Mysty in

"there was one here?!"

"yeah. you went way off"

Mysty laughs as the go back down to the city of monsters.

they go down to the street.

"Well Shade I'm going home, I'm tired."

Shade smirks

"old lady"

Mysty laughs

"I ain't old yet, I'm 44"

Mysty signals for a cab, as it stops infront of her.

"bye Shade"

"bye mom"

Mysty gets in the cab, and rides away.

Shade too signal a cab, admittedly also feeling tired.

"where too ma'am?"

Shade looks up to the driver

"my apartment, "Hellsing's Hell" "

The driver starts to drive to her apartment.

on the way She sees a pharmacy, and remembers that she told her roommates that she was getting medicine.

"oh fuck, I need you to stop there first"

"no problem ma'am."

He pulls over at the pharmacy.

Shade goes in, and comes out with some Medicine.

**30 minutes later**

They arrive at the apartments, And Shade pays the driver before going upstairs to her apartment.

when she goes In She sees Skylan on the couch watching TV.

"Hey Skyboy, I got your supersonic vibrator!"

She says teasingly

"Real funny Shade..."

Skylan says not abused at all.

Shade shrugs her shoulders

"anyway I got the medicine."

Skylan looks up at her

"it took that long to get medicine?"

".....it was very hard to find...."

"You got mission letter and went solo didn't you?"

Skylan clearly knows.

Shade sighs

"yeah... and I realized it's alot harder without you guys..."

Skylan chuckles

"when we should be getting better soon..."

Shade nods her head

"yeah... soon"

**a few weeks later**

8:00 am

Skylan, Grizzare, and Shadow are all feeling better.

"aw yes I can cook again"

Grizzare cheers

"I can train again"

Says Skylan

"I can go and eat children, and kill their families again"

Shadow says in an evil tone.

the other boys just look at Shadow silently..

"...I can cook again..."

Grizzare says in an attempt to make the moment less awkward.

Skylan looks around

"say... where is shade?"

Grizzare looks around

"still in her room maybe?"

Skylan is worried

"She's usually up already.."

Shadow excitedly chimes in

"maybe she died"

Skylan runs to her bedroom door

"ugh... the worst smelling room in the house"

Skylan opens shade's door, looking in the filthy room. he sees her in her bed... sick

"oh come on! now you are?"

Shade coughs

"yeah... I guess it does take time for symptoms to show..."

Skylan feels bad for her

"Well go get you some Medicine"

Skylan goes to the other two

"now Shades sick"

"fuuuck"

they all say in unison

"well... she cared for us when we where sick, so we should get her some Medicine."

Says Grizzare, as sympathetic as ever.

That's when a letter fell through the mail slot.

Shade opened and read it.

"we have a mission."

Skylan is annoyed

"now? of all times?!"

Grizzare says

"what should we do?.."

Shadow gets an idea

"Let's leave her to rest, and go without her."

Skylan goes up to Shadow

"That's!.... actually a good idea"

"So... we're going on a mission without Shade?"

"yes"

"yes"

Grizzare gets his knives

"Let's do it"

Skylan gets his sword.

They all go out the door to go on this mission.

Shade hears it from her bed

"Huh... I wo Der how they're gonna do?"
