chapter 3: the backstory train.

Shade has walked through the exit from the monster city. She ends up in a large forest, She's confused as her and her roommates have been to missions in Oklahoma before, and never ended up here.

"uh.. yo I think I went through the wrong-"

Shade is cut off by the guard shutting the exit.

"Well shit.. oh well, I can handle myself. just need to find out where I am."

she walks through the forest hearing the birds chirping, the leaves crunching beneath her feet, the wind blowing, an angry bear charging at he- OH SHIT THERE'S A BEAR!! STOP LISTENING TO ME NARRATE AND RUN SHADE!!!.

Shade hears the bear

"OH SHIT!!"

She started running, now the forest isn't so peaceful, her formally calm footsteps, now panicked running, the gentle breeze now wind rushing past her ears as she ran, the birds that were singing, are now eating snacks while watching Shade get chased.

Shade does some parkour through the trees to lose the bear, and thankfully it worked. until she accidentally kicked down a beehive.

Shade looks back at the swarm of angry bees.

"oh shit..."

Oh shit indeed Shade.

she just runs from the bees for over a mile, before the bees give up chasing her.

Shade finally can sit and rest for a moment..

"Damm, this is harder that I thought.."

just as her mood was ruined she noticed her favorite animal. A fox has come up to her.

"oh my goodness"

Shade with a huge smile goes to pet the fox

"whoa lady. back the fuck off"

the fox speaks to her, before changing forms into a skin walker.

Shade is embarrassed about this

"oh uh... sorry dude..."

the skin walker scoffs before leaving.

Shade sits against a tree

"ugh.. can this day get any worse?"

she hits the tree out of annoyance, cause another beehive to fall right on her lap.

"fuuuuuuck!!!"

**two hours later**

Shade is sitting on a tree branch, taking a break from evading animals.

"ugh.. I wish I had a little help.."

suddenly she heard something large, and heavy in the leaves above her.

"oh come ooon.. another bear?"

that's when she fell onto the branch with Shade. A large, overweight, yet beautiful Jester woman. Mysty, the human crusher.. also Shades mom.

"Oh, hey sweetie."

Shade is relieved to see a familiar face.

"hey mom.."

her mom crosses her legs

"Why are you here by yourself?"

Shade explains

"my roommates are all sick, and we got an assassination to do, so I decided to take it on myself.. why are you here?"

Mysty shrugs

"I also got an assassination to do. came out the wrong exit, and saw you up here"

shade laughs

"You too huh? well.. if only we knew where we were.."

"actually I've been through here before, we're in Arkansas."

Mysty informs.

Shade looks up in shock

"Arkansas? I need to be in Oklahoma.."

Mysty laughs

"don't worry. I do too, and I know if we hurry we can catch a freight train hauling porn to Oklahoma"

Shade perks up

"that'll be perfect"

they both stand up and race to the train station. despite Mystys immense weight, She's very fast on her feet.

after not long they arrive at the train. it's not being watched right now so they sneak on.

Shade and Mysty sit in one of the train cars together.

"so Shade, how have you been?"

"oh I've been great mom... besides today..."

Mysty looks out the small small window and looks sad.

"You know... this is the last place I was with your father... before those humans shot him..."

"Really?.."

they both feel sad talking about that... shade's dad was shot and killed 6 months before she was born. they never got to meet.

Mysty puts a comforting hand on Shades shoulder as the train started to move.

"he would be proud of you if he was here."

Shade smiles at this.

"what was he like?"

Mysty thinks for a second

"alot like your sister. So passionate, so fun loving, so kind, and such a love for rock and roll, and the guitar."

Shade chuckles

"Well Dazzle is my older sister, and got to know him... it makes sense she'd turn out like him..."

Mysty hugs shade

"just know that is he was here, he would be so happy to see how you have turned out... minus the rarely showering.. and leaving your nasty socks everywhere.. I did that too with my socks when he was alive, and he hated it.."

they both laugh about this

Shade looks at her

"Well neither of those things are changing, no matter how many times Skylan begs me to."

Mysty laughs at that

"Well it's gonna be a long ride to Oklahoma..I say we sleep in the meantime"

she slides her pumps off and stretches her legs

Shade smells the air after Mysty does this

"didn't know they where also shipping vinegar in this!"

they both laugh.. Shade mostly said that to lighten the mood.. before laying down and going to sleep.

**the next morning**

Shade woke up to see Mysty already awake

"good morning mom"
