As Lily and Jack's relationship deepened, they faced new challenges. They both knew that distance would be a major obstacle, but they also knew that they couldn't let it come between them. Lily was determined to make their long-distance relationship work, but she also knew that it wouldn't be easy.

They spent hours on the phone every night, talking about everything from their favorite books to their hopes and dreams for the future. He told her that he had met someone else at his new university, someone who made him feel alive in a way that no one else ever had before. Lily felt a mix of emotions as she listened to him; part of her was happy for him, part of her was devastated by the news.
