Chapter 4

We both rush out to see what that was, which was a bad idea because now we both find ourselves face to face with a gigantic, deer-like monster.

Aurora: “What in the world is that?!”

Fiel: “That’s a Deernitaur. Half deer, half minotaur.”

Aurora: “Wait... doesn’t that make it half deer, half bull, and half man?”

He gives me a look but I just continue staring at this monstrosity in front of us. I guess this world has some similarities to Earth since they know about Greek mythology.

Aurora: “Ok, who cares what that is as long as we don’t die!”

I shout at him. Fiel moves and says something, probably a spell because of the enchantment circle that appears around him. This causes the Deernitaur to immediately fly meters away from us.

Aurora: “Nice one Fiel!”

I cheer him on but it seems like I celebrated too early because the Deernitaur stands up and runs to us as fast as it can, my eyes widen.

Aurora: “F-F-Fiel I th-think we should... run!”

As I say this, I run as fast as I can but I soon realize that my clothes restrict my actions.

Aurora: “Damn it! Why’d I have to wear this stupid nightgown?!”

Nightgown? Crap, I’ve been walking around and talking to Fiel wearing this?! Not the point right now Rory! I look back to see Fiel still fighting the Deernitaur but this time some of the fairies have helped him, but he soon starts running away from it, leaving it alone with the fairies.

Aurora: “That thing will soon catch up with me because this stupid nightgown is such a nuisance! Better clothes would be greatly appreciated right now!”

I shout in frustration and then suddenly a purple colored light shows up, because of it’s sudden appearance, I didn’t notice the branch on the ground and so I fall down. Soon, the Deernitaur catches up to me and I find myself crawling away from it.

Aurora: “Fiel is nearer to you so why me?! I know I’m delicious looking but why?! Just disappear you monster! I don’t wanna die!”

I cry out, then the mysterious purple light shows up again and disappears shortly along with the Deernitaur. My heart beats fast in fright and shock at what just happened, Fiel comes up beside me.

Fiel: “What the hell just happened?”

I just look at him, panting and gasping for air. He helps me stand up and I scream because I realized that I’m no longer wearing my nightgown but instead I’m now wearing a short and frilly lavender colored dress that is surprisingly easy to move in.

Aurora: “Never mind the Deernitaur, look at my dress! Where the hell did this come from?”

Fiel: “What exactly did you do? Or say for that matter?”

He stares at me in wonder, I remember that he casually disregarded the fact that I’ve been waltzing around in just a nightgown a couple of seconds ago and so I punch his arm.

Fiel: “What was that for?”

Aurora: “Why didn’t you tell me I was just wearing a nightgown?!”

I say to him exasperatedly, he realizes this and Fiel starts blushing.

Aurora: “Plus, are you seriously not freaked out by this? You know what, don’t answer that.”

That’s probably a given considering he’s lived at this freaky place since he was probably born.

Aurora: “I just shouted my frustrations out loud...”

Fiel: “And the purple light appeared right after you shouted these so-called ‘frustrations’ of yours?”

Aurora: “Well yeah... I guess...”

Fiel: “And what were these frustrations of yours?”

Aurora: “How I wanted better clothes and how I wish the Deernitaur would disappear... ?”

He stares at me before walking back to his cottage, I sigh in frustration and run to catch up with him.

Aurora: “By the way aren’t archmages suppose to be strong? Is the Deernitaur that powerful that you had to leave it to the fairies?”

I ask him as we walk back to the cottage.

Fiel: “It’s not that strong for someone like me but the weapon summoning ceremony isn’t that easy you know, it took a lot of magical energy and so I’m still recovering.”

Aurora: “But did you really have to leave that monster with the fairies? I didn’t know this place even had monsters.”

Fiel: “Despite what they look like, those fairies are really strong but it’s rather odd that they helped us, they don’t usually mingle with species other than theirs. And as for your other question, that’s because the Demon King’s arrival is nearing, magic becomes unstable, some turning into dark miasma thus some creatures become corrupted.”

We arrive at his cottage and I ponder at the new information he gave me, I take a seat while he reads a book from his shelf, he skims through some other books one after the other. I soon find myself observing my heels and the white thigh high stockings adorning my legs, they’re a pair of lavender pointed stilettos with ankle straps, they probably got changed too when I asked for better clothes. Although, I’m not sure how this is gonna help me run, but it’s a cute pair and I’m not complaining. I’d definitely buy these if I were back in my world, they perfectly match my dress which is a total plus. Fiel sits down in front of me.

Aurora: “Fiel I’m bored, what are you even doing?”

Fiel: “Rory, could you wish for something to do?”

Aurora: “What?“

Fiel: “Since you’re bored... wish for something to do, like a book or something.”

Aurora: “Boring.”

I stare at him blankly.

Fiel: “Ok then, what do you do to pass the time?”

Aurora: “If I were to pass time... I’d definitely eat something.”

Fiel: “Odd choice.... but ok so what kind of food do you eat to pass time?”

Aurora: “Definitely teriyaki chicken wings. It’s sweet and savory and it’s so delicious! Damn it now I want some...”

As soon as I say this, the purple light appears again and a steaming plate of what looks like teriyaki chicken wings appear in front of me, my eyes widen and I almost pass out from shock.

Aurora: “What the hell?”

Fiel: “Interesting... what if the weapon the prophecy was talking about wasn’t an actual weapon but instead, a person or specifically, a sorceress.”
