Prologue

So, there I was, just happily cruising through my weekly grocery shopping, when out of nowhere, this adorable little tyke, Matt, decides I'm his long-lost mama and clings to my leg like a koala.

I tried my best to shake him off but to no avail.

"Hey there, little kiddo, hate to burst your bubble, but I'm not your mama," I tried to reason, lifting him up. "And, uh, mamas are usually girls, not boys like me." But I guess he isn't to blame, I do have feminine like features.

"No! Mama liar! Mama is my mama!" The little boy protested.

Suddenly, a tall, handsome man approached, introducing himself as Matt's father. Struggling to resist the distraction of his attractiveness, I inquired if he was indeed the boy's father.

"Yes, I am," he affirmed with a frown, gesturing for Matt to come with him.

"Matt, don't you wanna go home with your papa?" I ask the little boy.

"Only if mama come home with Matt and papa!" He says cheerfully.

"Ehhh?! I can't go with you guys..-"

"W-why not?" I was cut off by matt, he was looking at me with cute teary eyes.

As Matt kept insisting he wanted to stick with his "mama," Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Shelter, food, clothes – you name it, he'd provide, just if I played pretend as Matt's mama. It was truly tempting, but is it worth it? I was silent for awhile. This guy was hot.. and he seemed rich.. it wouldn't really hurt to agree.. but wouldn't this be risky? I don't even know the guy for more than 15 minutes.. he could be extremely dangerous.

I hesitated, weighing the risks. Hot dad, rich promises – tempting, but was this some sketchy setup? I looked at him up and down. Hmm.. he looks like a mob. No.. maybe he is one. B*tch I dunno? Should I politely decline.. or should I just make an excuse..?

While I mulled over the pros and cons, Matt, with those teary puppy eyes, begged me to join the party. The hot dad, losing patience, decided for me instead.

"Silence means yes, darling." He says

"Huh??" I was confused- darling??? What's up with him..?

Lost in thought, I miss the cue, and next thing I know, he's calling me "darling." Confused and all, he grabs Matt, pulls me into his car, and speeds off. Now, I'm left wondering what the heck I just signed up for as Matt's stand-in "mama."

What if this unexpected journey turns my life upside down in ways I never imagined?
