Chapter 5

Thankfully, I found out that Lilith wasn't poisoned or anything like that, so l was safe. No one was going to try and kill me. So what was left to do now, was finding out how l was going to live from now on. Because I surly didn't want to spend the rest of my life living in these conditions.

Meanwhile Xiao had calm down and was doing some tidying up here and there. "Xiao!" I called and she immediately turned at me. "Yes, your highness!"

"Xiao can you call my son for me. I want to see him" That sounded so weird. I never thought that the word 'son' would even come out of my mouth. But there I was calling a complete stranger my son.

"Your highness wants to see the young master?!" She said with this look in her eyes as if I had said something strange. And suddenly l felt kinda stupid. "Yeah, Is there something wrong?" I said, completely confused. Wasn't that a normal thing to do? I hadn't seen the boy since I woke up, so I felt like I needed to see him. And I suppose he would want to see me too, after all I was his mother now.

Xiao hesitated to answer as if she needed to think about it, and it was strange, a bit too strange if you ask me. " No, there's nothing wrong" She finally said. " I will go call him now."

"Yeah, please do." I said, and left the room. Suddenly, I felt strangely nervous. I felt anxious and somewhat scared. In no time now I would meet the kid, but what should I say? Never in my life had I thought of having a child, and now for the irony of fate, I had a complete stranger as my son.

How could I look him in the eyes and act as nothing happened? Act as Lilith, when I knew nothing about her. About him.

Actually, acting wasn't the problem, I have been acting my whole life, but when it comes to this kid, I doubt I can do the same.

If he looks at me with the same worried and wishful eyes as Xiao, I can't. I can't lie to him. I told Xiao I had amnesia, but would an innocent kid understand it. Would he understand that no matter how much he wants, he will never see his mother again. And would I be able to ignore his eyes as he searches for his mother in me.

I could fool the whole world, knowing it does the same, and I sure as hell wouldn't give a damn about it. But when it came to this kid, I knew nothing about, I started to doubt myself.

Without me noticing it, time passed and Xiao was back. I shaked my thoughts away, and turned my attention towards the door, where she was standing. There, hiding behind her dress I noticed the small kid, and instantly my heart shattered.
