...Current Timeline...
"Here" Ji-Eun walks into the bedroom and places the fresh juice on the table. Jungkook was facing towards the mirror fixing his tie as he got ready for work. She watches her husband in silence for a moment before walking to the walk-in clothes and bringing a Jungkook coat.
Jungkook comes to sit by the bed and puts on his shoes. He had a little grumpy face and was not talking to his wife. After the little stunt, she and his son pulled he wasn't very happy.
"Wear this" she comes with a black blazer in her hand. He doesn't speak but still takes the blazer in his hands.
Ji-Eun knows her husband is upset but she didn't back down from her decision. There was a moment of silence as the two only sat and stared opposite each other. "Why are you so upset?" she begins finally glancing at Jungkook.
"I don't want to talk about it" he continued to ignore it.
"Is it because I made you speak to Tae-"
"I said I don't want to talk about it! Just leave it" Jungkook was on his feet and was about to walk out.
"You know you didn't have to talk to him?" she said, making Jungkook glued to his place.
"I know what I said but it's not like I would have done anything even if you didn't call him. One more year wouldn't have changed much" she points out. Ji-Eun indeed wanted Taehyung there but she never expected Jungkook to talk to him.
"What are you trying to say?" He looks back at his wife.
"Let me ask you something?" Ji-Eun said and Jungkook waited for her to speak. She comes closer to him, her hands going up to fix Jungkook's collar like always.
"Why do you hate him so much?" The question surprised Jungkook but he had no answer.
"You and I both know we have been unfair to him. Don't you think we have hurt him enough?." she said, playing with the shirt. Jungkook stays still. He knows it's true.
"He's been alone for too long, Jungkook," she whispered, her voice lowered. And something in her eyes says guilt. "Why? Because he loves you. He only ever wanted you to be everything but now he has nothing" she looks away.
"Even back then Taehyung was the only one that was hurting. That man has been selfless because he loves you. He even backed down so you could be happy with me....he never asked anything" she said.
Jungkook remembers that very day. The day was the first time something in him broke. That day when Taehyung stepped away from the very house he called his home. There was no tear in his eyes when he placed Ji-Eun's hand on his, but Jungkook could see what was hiding behind that smile.
That very day he felt that he lost something irreplaceable.
"Tell me Jungkook....did you ever feel something for him? The two years where you spent with him. You raised a child together, didn't you feel the love of a family? Because I am sure those two years were everything for Taehyung" she asked. Ji-Eun didn't ask because he wanted Jungkook to feel bad nor was she jealous.
She just wanted Jungkook to understand his feelings.
Jungkook stares off in silence because he doesn't know how to answer that question. What did he feel about being with taehyung? In the beginning, it was the hardest thing for him. He felt suffocated but did it stay the same? No, because somewhere along the way he got used to Taehyung being around him. He got used to waking up to him, seeing him in the afternoon when he came back. He probably was irradiated at first but he knows his loneliness wasn't there anymore because taehyung was everywhere for him.
Ji-Eun, who was waiting for Jungkook to reply, there was something in her little smile when she read Jungkook's eyes. She always knew. "You know life's not fair to all. Someone who only wanted love left was thrown away. Thankfully we were on the east side" Jungkook frowns at her.
"Today I read something that said "there is a certain amount of happiness we receive. Another amount of sadness. But the law is that in the end, we all have the same amount. We have our share of happiness. Now it is Taehyung 's turn. ''She looks at her husband with a beautiful smile.
"Are you telling me to go to him?" Jungkook frowns because even if tomorrow he was to suddenly grow feelings for Taehyung he can never leave Ji-Eun.
Ji-Eun lets out a small chuckle. "I am not telling you to do anything. I want this to be about Taehyung. This time let him choose what he wants. But I know you too so I won't force you" she holds his hands and brings them closer to her.
"If you don't choose to be with him then at least treat him like he means to you. Remember he was your best friend first, then husband second, then your son's papa. Whichever role you want him to see, treat him that way. You might not like it but he is part of this family as much as you, and I are. He has a child with you Jungkook. Think about YeonJun and what he might want." Jungkook silently listens to his wife talk.
"We are not just three anymore. Not only do our feelings matter now. We got little ones now. We have to be fair. You don't have to treat him like a lover but please for once let Taehyung be with us. But don't do it out of guilt. Truly once see what he is pleased" Ji-Eun finishes with a little tear in her eyes.
Ji-Eun isn't doing this because he feels bad for him, or pities him. It's because she knows what it's like to love someone. So what if it's Jungkook. Taehyung still loves him.
Jungkook places his hands onto Ji-Eun's face and brings her closer to him. He planted a small kiss on his temple and brought her to his arms. "You are the best thing that I have. I love you" Jungkook whispers and he truly means it.
He doesn't know how he was so lucky to have Ji-Eun in his life but he is thankful for everything. This woman was his source of strength in all battles that came to his life. She is just as selfish as she thinks of others.
"I love you too," she said back and fell into the warmth of her husband.
The knocking of the fallen rain was dancing on Jungkook's car windows as he stared at the house he had long stopped coming from. The rain was heavy and the glass was covered with the rushing droplets but still, he could see little of the house.
"Papa bye!" Jungkook catches the voice of Yu-Na as she runs out in the rain. Jungkook frowns at his daughter. Why was she out in this weather?
"You forgot your umbrella" He hears the deep voice shouting from inside the house. For some reason, Jungkook's heart was beating loudly when the latte with dark long hair bouncing on his head ran behind the little girl.
"No papa, I am late!" she was whining but still had to wait for her papa. "Here! Go!" Taehyungs pass the umbrella to Yu-Na. His dry hair is now getting wet from the pouring rain.
"Bye! Love you!" Yu-Na yells running towards the group of girls a little far from the house.
"Papa I am gone too!" Another voice came behind Taehyung and this time it was YeonJun running outside with a hoodie over his head.
"Yah! It's raining his dream hoodie!" Taehyung was on the edge of losing his mind with the kids.
"No time to love you!" with that YeonJun also runs towards his friends.
Now it was only Taehyung that Jungkook saw. His pounding heart rose, even more, when he saw the younger man smiling widely. His soft skin gets drunk with the strong fain. He raises his hand to cover his eyes but still smiles.
Jungkook couldn't make out what he was saying but judging from the smile it has to do with a happy thing. Jungkook watches as Taehyung makes his way back into his house. Jungkook takes a deep breath and looks at the passenger seat.
A little smile makes its way onto his lips as he stares at the small bouquet of white flowers. He remembers the first time he gave Taehyung the same flowers and how the other didn't let them go the whole time. He grabs the flowers and opens the car door. He could have gone to park inside the driveway but he didn't feel that confident. Besides he needs the short walk to gain Courage.
His blazer was soaked just like his black shirt and his tired hair. But he didn't care about his wet clothes because his mind was trying to focus on what he was gonna say to Taehyung. But being the man he is he decided to suck it in and face it. It was not his first time facing him anyway.
Taking a deep breath he brings his hand to ring the doorbell. But why was he so nervous? He fixed his hair even if it was sticking to his face. When the door doesn't open he frowns and rings it again. But this time he hears Taehyung's voice yelling "Coming!" He yells from inside.
And within a second the door opens and Jungkook imdentilly hides the flower behind his back. Taehyung upon opening the door had his eyes wide open and jaw always touching the floor. Like someone cut for his sources of life, he was stuck glazing at Jungkook.
The older out of the two was lost in the beautiful man in front of him, Taehyung who had changed his clothes from long loose pants to some comfortable shorts and a loose large shirt covering most of his body. His hair is now dry, his cheeks a little Rosey from the cold weather.
"J-jungkook" Taehyung somehow managed to speak because for all he knew he was about to lose his shit. Jungkook was here in his home.
"Hi," Jungkook said. Taehyung showed dolls the dryness in his throat and says "Hi" he answered.
"It's cold, can I come in?" Jungkook asks and chuckles seeing the sudden change in Taehyung. As he quickly moves aside from the door almost hurts himself. "Come in '' Taehyung gives a little smile.
Jungkook quilty walks into the house for the first time. He looks at the small but cozy home. "Just a second," Taehyung says, running away from Jungkook and into the room.
Jungkook takes a small tour around the living room and instantly his heart is filled with emotions when he sees the pictures of Taehyung and his little family. The first picture which hung from the small stand was a little YeonJun on Taehyung's lap with the biggest smile as he was being showered with kisses. Picture down in front of Tink Yu-Na was hanging from Taehyung's shoulder with big sunglasses placed on his small face. And the next picture he wouldn't stop staring at. It was the three of them when YeonJun was firstborn. Taehyung held YeonJun in his arms while Jungkook was behind them with his arm around Taehyung.
"Here" Jungkook turns to Taehyung voice.
Taehyung was now fully dressed because he can not look like trash in front of Jungkook. He had a towel and some change-on clothes in his hands. "You get cold from wearing them. Wear this, it keeps you warm" Thankfully Taehyung is yelling at himself to act normal now.
"Thanks but I can't change. I have extra clothing at the office but I will take the towel. Thanks" He said as he secretly placed the flower on the little table behind him and grabbed the towel.
Taehyung watches as Jungkook dries himself "I am surprised you are at my house" Taehyung said not knowing how to start the conversation.
"I came to tell you to come to Kai's birthday party," Jungkook confidently said.
Taehyungs holds back a smile or more like a laugh "you came to my house to invite me to your son's party even when you did that yesterday?" Taehyung has a questioning look.
Jungkook turns away in embarrassment and thinks fast to say something "well I thought it better if I did it personally sinc over the phone doesn't sound good. I also wanted to see the kids but I am guessing they went to school" Taehyung nods towards Jungkook.
"I was also here to tell you that I will be sending some outfits for the kids because Kai wants his siblings to match with him. Also, tell Yuna and YeonJun to invite their friends if he wants' ' Jungkook said looking anywhere but Taehyung.
"Is that all?" Taehyung's whisper catches Jungkook off guard. "Yeah," he said, glancing at Taehyung.
Taehyung has a genteel smile on his face looking at Jungkook "okay. Do you want to drink or eat something?" He asks to move towards the kitchen.
"No, it's okay. I have a meeting in half an hour so I will find something to eat at the office." Jungkook quickly stopped Taehyung. He nods but seeing the little disappointment in Taehyung's face makes him want to curse.
"I will be taking my leave now. Tell the kids I passed by" Taehyung didn't say anything as Jungkook walked towards the door.
But before he was out he stood between the door and turned. His bunny smile turned upwards a little "Thank you" He said turning a little before walking out of the door.
Jungkook walks out of the house because he doesn't know how else he is gonna act or say. He didn't want to embarrass himself so he thought it was best to leave. Though seeing the pouring rain got his mood changing.
"Jungkook" He turns to the calling and sees Taehyung running towards him with an umbrella in his hand.
It seems like a scene from a movie as Jungkook couldn't take his eyes off Taehyung. Because the other man was looking stunning running towards him with a bright smile. Taehyung reaches him and places the umbrella over his head. Taehyung doesn't say anything but points towards Jungkook's car and he understands it.
As they walk towards the car the umbrella comes to be short. It didn't help with the small frame on Taehyung as he was being pushed away a little. Jungkook notices and holds the umbrella in his hands. His other hand goes around Taehyung and pulls him to his side. Taehyung was left stunned because of the man's bold touches.
Taehyungs looked up at Jungkook but the other man was busy getting a tour of the rain. Taehyung was so busy staring at the older man in shock that he didn't even notice when they reached the car. Only when Jungkook opens the car door does he realize they made it. Jungkook lets go of Taehyung and steps into the car.
He smiles a little towards Taehyung and then returns the smile. He was about to leave when Taehyung called him "Thank you....for the flowers" there was a rosy blush on Taehyung's face but he couldn't tell if it was from the cold or was he shy.
But the two didn't notice the 17-year-old a little far from the street with a big smile on his face.
