Chapter Seven

...Past Timeline...

It was the day after the unfortunate event but like any other day, Taehyung woke up and headed to his mother's flower shop to work. It was quite surprising to Jimin when Taehyung came to him and hugged with the biggest smile. He thought he had to come to Taehyung and comfort but nothing like that happened.

"Come on Tannie, don't run like that!" Taehyung yells at his pup who out of all day today decided to be a rebel and mess around the shop.

But the little pup didn't listen to his owner and ran out the open door, scaring Taehyung. "No! Come on!" He ran after the pup worried he would get hurt but thankfully he grabbed the pup before he ran across the street.

"Naughty Tan! I am already having a hard time please don't make it worst" he pleaded the pup with an exhausted voice.

The pup seems to understand Taehyung distressed and licks his face making Taehyung giggle. "Apology accepted," he said playful.

Just as Taehyung was about to bring Tan inside, his eyes caught Jungkook walking his way with a larger dog on a leash. His heartbeat quickened at the sight of the older man and the memory of yesterday flashing in his eyes.

A lump forming on his throat when they meet each other's eyes. Junggkook comes to a stop next to Taehyung who can't look away now. Jungkook looks at Taehyung's soft appearance and insteadly his guilt shows up on his face but he doesn't let that bother him.

For a long time, they both could only look at each other, no word said, no movement just their eyes lined perfectly with each other. Taehyung watches the way Jungkook stares at him and it makes him feel weird....because Jungkook never even turns the direction Taehyung stands but then again Taehyung can also see the guilt in them......and maybe even pity.

"Taehyung you need to get ready, the dectorantion are all sent to the hall and Jeon's son is here to pick you up-" Taehyung mother walks out only to see her son having a staring contest with another boy.

"Look at my son making a fool of himself out on the street" she sighs, making a disappointed face and walking towards the two who are still unaware of the older lady.

She looks between her son and the boy and frowns. She also notices the small pup struggling to free himself from Taehyung arms. "My poor baby" she shows a worried face, grabbing the pup out of Taehyung's hands.

"My Tannie" she caresses the pup in her arms making sure he is alright. "Yah! You shameless cow stop lusting over the bunny!" she shouts wrecking her son over the head which differently got the attention of both.

"Ow! That hurt!" he whines glaring at his mother who already has her eyes fixed on her son. "If you weren't so lusting over this muscular man here then you hear my calling" she said pointing at the man who looks away.

Taehyung mentally curses his mother's choice of words and looks back at Jungkook who also isn't paying attention. "I told you to get ready that Jeon's kid is gonna be here any time" she shouts looking back at Jungkook.

"And who is this little boy?" She questions earning a look from Jungkook "I am not a little boy" he defends himself angrily at the word "little".

"Whatever you are going to do because Jeon Jungkook is gonna be here soon, I don't want him seeing you around my son. I don't need that nice young man thinking my son is something he isn't" she said, shooing Jungkook away from her property.

Jungkook was amused by how the older lady's voice changed from being angry to sweet when mentioning Jungkook names. Taehyung just wished that the ground swallowed him alive or that Thanos would snap his finger again.

"Eomma don't say such thing-"

"Why not! I heard that Jungkook is a very mannered man so I don't want him to see his future husband lusting over some random man on the street. Didn't you scream on my face that your eyes are only for Jungkook then why are your eyes glued to your bunny face?" Taehyung doesn't know why his mother is shouting but he hates it.

"And you child better move among, I get my son is pretty but he isn't on display for you to stare. He is already crazy about someone else so don't try your luck here. Go and stand behind on the line of those street thugs who want my son so badly" Jungkook eyes widened at the rudeness of the woman.

"Eomma this is Jungkook" Taehyung pulls his mother to the side a little far from Jungkook. He always looks at mother as if he is gonna begin crying out of embarrassment.

Mrs. Kim freezes hearing Taehyung. "Oh my that was wrong of me to say wasn't it?

"You think so?" Taehyung says in disbelief.

"Wait let me handle this, you go get ready" she said pushing Taehyung inside the shop "and don't come out looking like a rat!" she yells behind.

She goes back to Jungkook and gives out a joyful smile, staring hard on his face creeping him out. "Oh my you are so handsome dear" she begins with the most fake innocence.

"If I knew such a good looking man was the son of Jeon I would have never said such a thing! Forgive me yeah. You know old eyes loudmouth. Don't take anything personal, okay dear?" she said, trying to make Jungkook smile just clearly, his face not interested.

"It's right you didn;t know" Jungkook said awkwardly not knowing what to say but for sure he can smile at the fakeness radiation from the older woman.

Both of them stand awkwardly looking away, avoiding eyes while Bam starts barking at Tan who also shows no mercy and fights back at the dog 10 times bigger than him. "Sorry about that I put Bam in the car, you can send Taehyung to the car" Jungkook doesn't wait for the woman to reply and walks towards his car.

"Tsk tsk young boys nowadays have no respect! Aish that bunny guy didn't even say goodbye. Taehyung, what kind of man did you fall in love with?" She questioned her son's choices.

"Where is Jungkook?" Taehyung asks to come out. His mother turns to look at him from head to toe.

"Since when did you start looking nice?" She teases earning a look from Taehyung. "I am already embraced, please don't make it worse for me." Taehyung whines looking at the other side and sees Jungkook standing by his car.

"I am going now...be back as soon as the hall is done," Taehyung said, waving at his mother and walking towards Jungkook.

Jungkook's heart races as he watches Taehyung making his way towards him. He doesn't know all this feeling that suddenly decides to show up but he can feel it's gonna lead him to trouble. Taehyung feels the same racing in his heart but only this time he forces himself not to recognize them. He still isn't over the event in the school locker room....and the disgusted look in Jungkook eyes.

"Jungkook '' Taehyung calls when the man in front of him doesn't speak but keeps on staring. Jungkook comes out of thoughts , looks back at Taehyung and starts coughing awkwardly.

Taehyung holds back a chuckle seeing how adorable he finds when Jungkook avoids eye contact with him with a hint of blush on his face.

"You can go in," he said, pointing towards the car. Taehyung nods and goes to open the backseat but Jungkook stops him "No!" he says a bit louder then needed.

Taehyung frowns at the sudden outburst "a-ah what I mean is Bam gonna be in the back and he needs a lot of space. Y-you can sit in the front.....if you want" Jungkook said embarrassed at the lame excuse he gaved.

Taehyung now sure couldn't hold back his laugh so he let out a giggle. His lips formed into a boxy shape while his eyes almost disappeared. Jungkook stares at Taehyung seeing how innocent he looked.

Let be honest Jungkook never once had a glance at Taehyung properly let alone stare at him long enough to notice the mole on the corner of his pulmed lips and other parts of his face.....and it looks pretty on his already beautiful face-

wait what! Beautiful!

What's wrong with Jungkook! He never found Taehyung beautiful...he hates the younger man.

"Shouldn't we leave?" Jungkook nods at Taehyung. He watches him get in the car and shut the door behind. Jungkook was about to head for the other side but his eyes caught the sight of some beautiful white lilies in front of the shop.

"Just a minute," Jungkook said and walked towards the shop again. Tawhyung watches courisely as to what Jungkook was up to.

He sees Jungkook picking up the white lilies which were his favorite but he wonders why Jungkook was taking them...but then remembers that today is Jungkook and Ji-Eun's anniversary.

He sighs with sadness lingering in his chest. He honestly doesn't know why he keeps on trying to win Jungkook over. He also knows he should stop his "obsession" over Jungkook but he can't....his heart doesn't want him. Even after everything that happened he can't just not look at Jungkook with the same feeling. He hates himself because he has no control over his feelings and makes a fool out of himself.

He closes his eyes resting his head against the glass but a bark from the giant pup in the back brings Taehyung to smile. "Hi there" his cheerful voice says, playing with the dog who ended up hovering over Taehyung.

Jungkook opens the car door but the sincereness in front of him melts his cold heart. His pup Bam never lets anyone near him, let alone be playful....not even Ji-Eun but seeing his pup licking Taehyung face and acting so friendly while Taehyung is a giggling mess puts a known smile on his face.

Jungkook interpretes the sweet moment by clearing his throat a little too loud, gaining the attention from both. Taehyung moves away from the pup but his smile never leaves his adorable face.

He gets into the driver seat and starts the car. As the car hits the road there was a thick silence between the two and the only source of sounds was the giggle that Taehyung lets out when Bam plays with him.

Jungkook hands the hestiest holding the flower bouquet and looking at Taehyung. "Here," he said, handing the flowers to Taehyung who gave him a surprised look.

Taehyung's eyes widened seeing Jungkook holding out the bouquet in front of him. Jungkook got him flowers? "F-for me?" His eyes can't believe that Jungkook actually was giving him flowers.

"I don't see anyone else," Jungkook said with a blank face. Taehyung takes the flower and brings it closer to his chest.

"Thank you" Taehyung managed to mumble with his heart beating uncontrollably. With silence taking over again the two listen to the soft music playing on the radio.

"I am sorry" Jungkook says, making Taehyung turn to him. Him not understanding why Jungkook was apologizing.

"For that day....I am sorry I left you alone" Jungkook can't even look at Taehyung.

Yes, for the whole night Jungkook was awake trying to convince himself that he is not at fault for what happened to Taehyung and that he shouldn't care. But his mind was filled with the hurt in Taehyung's eyes when he looked at Jungkook with pleasure.

"It's-alright what happened in the past. I am through it....It is not like I expected you to come save me" the bitterness in Taehyung's voice sends a pung inside Jungkook chest.

"I should be the one to say sorry" now Jungkook is the one to look at Taehyung. "I've been a bother to you for so long. Not understanding that you already love her and trying to force myself on you...I am sorry I must have made you uncomfortable."

"But now I understand...I can only make a fool of myself if I continue this childish behavior of mine. I guess liking you for so long I was only trying to defend my heart from shuttering because it knew it won't ever have you"

Jungkook's hands tighten on the wheel, he knows everything and why Taehyung is saying this. He should be happy right knowing that Taehyung will never bother him again but why does his heart tighten hearing Taehyung.

One might say why the two are so uncomfortable or why not just leave...the thing is Taehyung and Jungkook had a past...not the one you are thinking of though. But a past friendship which the two had managed to keep secret from everyone. In that moment of silence both of them had flashbacks of those days when they used to be good friends.

Back when they were much younger they met each other in the first blooms of spring, it was during sunset when the young teen had run into each other accidentally. You can say it wasn't a pleasing meeting because when they bumped into each other Jungkook had accidentally stepped on Taehyung barbie doll.

Yes, Taehyung used to play with dolls because he found them very pretty. He loved to dress them up and make their hair. And that day Jungkook had stepped onto Taehyung's favorite doll which made him cry because its hands fell off.

Jungkook, who was around 10, watched Taehyung, who was 8 year old cry about a broken doll. It was different for Jungkook to see a boy playing with dolls because all his toys were "boy" toys. But he felt bad seeing the young boy cry, he picked the toy to give back to Taehyung but he kept on crying.

This made Jungkook reach inside his small pocket and take out a yo-yo and put it in front of Taehyung. "Look it fun," Jungkook said, letting the string go, making the yo-yo roll towards Taehyung.

Taehyung peeked from his mother's arms and his teary full eyes watched Jungkook doing tricks with yo-yo which made little Taehyung giggle. Jungkook puts the string around tiny chubby fingers of Taehyung and tells him to play with it.

"I will fix you dolly and give it to you" Jungkook said holding the doll closer to him "promise" Taehyung said showing his pinky.

"Promise" Jungkook sealed the promise by connecting his pinky with Taehyung which made the younger one smile.

And that's how Taehyung and Jungkook had become friends not only that their family also were collage friends so it was easier for the two younger to spend time together which they did often. They had become each other's best friend. Taehyung didn't have any friends before Jungkook because everyone had found the boy "weird" because he liked playing with girl toys but Jungkook had a lot of friends.

Even so Jungkook never questioned Taehyung liking dolls because for him it was just a toy that Taehyung liked. Went Jungkook by Taehyung side thing seemed so much better because he could finally have a friend all to himself.

As the days of their childhood pass like the seasons they grew even closer to each other during their teenage years. Taehyung was soft and very feminial and his body leaning more towards it. Taehyung was very beautiful, to say the least and his body craved so perfectly that it made everyone in school jealous of how perfect he was.

On the other hand, Jungkook grew up with muscle even at a young age he had a strong presence. He was also very tall and looked much bigger than other boys his age.

But it never changed how he looked at Taehyung. They stayed bestfriend and Jungkook always protected Taehyung. Taehyung got bullied for the way he looked and dressed, it wasn't bad, just different from what other boys would wear.

Taehyung just always was himself while Jungkook always supported him and maybe that was the reason why Taehyung started feeling for his best friend. Yes Taehyung knew he was gay from a young age but he doubt much untill he was certien he liked Jungkook.

He was so happy he liked his friend and no one else so he decided to tell Jungkook how he felt about the latte but how could Taehyung know that confessing his feeling for his best friend be the end of their friendship as Jungkook showed shock and disgust towards taehyung.

Jungkook had run away from taehyung that day and he never saw Jungkook again because he decided to move school. Taehyung had heard one of the classmates talking about how Jungkook was so critical of Taehyung that he never wanted to be near him again.

"My feelings will eventually change and the quicker it does the better it is for both of you. So from now on I won't ever bother you....I will hold myself back even if I want to go see you" he doesn't know why it is so much harder to speak when he is with Jungkook.
