Chapter 2: Bird

"Should I -?"

Before I could organize my thoughts a thumping sound interrupted me.

"WHAT THE..."

It was a bird outside my garden. It has beautiful red feathers with a tiny shine to it. Its wings were injured from the fall. It was cute its beak was tiny.

4 Hours Later...

A knock was at my gate. I put the bird aside.

I hurriedly went outside. And the color from my skin went pale. It was my father. He said with a toneless voice.

"Roseal, You didn't attend the ball last night."

Oh, shoot I'm dead...

Later that day...

"Phew, I thought I was good as dead."

"Father didn't yell at me. Rather he was disappointed at me. I thought he was the type of man that would hit me. I wouldn't know I only met him yesterday. And the day of the Rose Ceremony I never met him ever since that. I only met him twice."

The Rose Ceremony only happens to the Rozsa Family. Where it is a ceremony of a Rozsa offspring to introduce to the world. The offspring can also be called the new "Blossom". It is not only giving the title of the offspring but also proving if the Blossom is truly a Rozsa or an illegitimate child. And if the child is truly from outside marriage it will be beheaded or the cheating wife will be executed.

"I passed the Rose ceremony but because of the false rumors. I was like a duck surrounded by swans. My appearance made the whole empire doubt me."

The Rozsa Family has red hair, crimson eyes, and pale skin. While I got the pale skin and red eyes genetics part. I have pink hair.

"At least I was close. Pink is a tint of red anyway."

I sighed.

"Mother why do I have to look different."

"Tweet, Tweet."

"Huh?, Oh hi birdy. Have you woken up already."

It's like it's telling me it's hungry. So I fed it. I had a weird feeling calling it birdy or it. So I named It "Phe". I felt tired and went to bed.

The next day...

I stretched and took a shower. And dressed myself then I cooked to eat. After I took a stroll around my mansion. It was quite lonely. Phe was still asleep. As I reached my mansion's gate a letter awaited me. I took the letter and opened it.

"An invitation to a tea party? From Lady Cleris"

I have to attend this. Or I will be as good as dead.

A noble not attending an invitation is considered rude to the others. They will think you're arrogant.

I never received an invitation all my life.

"This must be a trap..."

I sighed

"It's so obvious they want to make a scene in the tea party and embarrass me. I guess they already heard about the divorce with Tom."

"WHAT ITS TODAY! They could have at least given me a heads up."

I rushed to get ready. I arrived just in time. But i was in such a hurry that I forgot to wear winter clothes. Instead, I wore a green dress. I was shaking from the cold. I felt anxious as I stopped at the gate of Lady Cleris.

I mumbled to myself while I scratched my head.

"I should have just stayed at my mansion. It's freezing here. BRRR~..."
