Hao Yu's eyes widened, his voice trembling. "My mother told me the same thing, priest. She said I had a special spirit, a quiet strength that would carry me through hard times."
He paused, his eyes dropping to the ground. "But others have told me I'm just weaker than the rest. That I'm not fit for this world."
Hao Yu's body swayed, his eyes rolling back in his head. "Oh no...the blood...it's too much for me..."
He stumbled backwards, his body crumpling to the ground. Akos and Kael rushed to his side, concern etched on their faces.
"Erian, help him!" Akos cried, shaking Hao Yu's shoulder. "He's fainting!"
Erian rushed over, his hands hovering over Hao Yu's body. "He's just shocked, that's all. The sight of blood can be overwhelming."
Hao Yu's mind raced, his secrets still safe. He had to keep up the act, had to convince them he was one of them. No one from this world could know the truth. He was trapped in this primitive world, and his only hope was to play along until he could find a way back home.
Akos scooped up Hao Yu's limp form, cradling him in his arms as he made his way back to the cave. Hao Yu's head lolled against Akos' chest, his eyes closed as if he had truly fainted.
But as Akos walked, Hao Yu's eyes flickered open, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. He had joined acting classes in his own world, and now he was putting those skills to use in this primitive one.
He kept his body relaxed, pretending to be unconscious, as Akos carried him through the winding paths. No one in this world could know that he was from another world, that he was a stranger in a strange land. It was his ticket to life, and also his ticket to a beheading request.
As they approached the cave, Hao Yu's mind raced with thoughts of what to do when they arrived at the cave.
After Akos placed him on the stone bed, Hao Yu lay still, his eyes closed, pretending to be unconscious. He heard Akos' concerned whispers, felt his gentle touch as he checked his pulse and examined his wounds.
As the minutes ticked by, Hao Yu's mind raced with thoughts of escape. He knew he had to get out of there, away from Akos and the others. He couldn't let them discover his true identity, his secrets.
Slowly, carefully, Hao Yu opened his eyes, his gaze scanning the dark cave. Akos sat beside him, his eyes fixed on Hao Yu's face, his expression soft with concern.
Hao Yu's heart raced as he slowly sat up, his movements deliberate and calculated. He couldn't let Akos suspect anything. He had to keep up the act, had to convince him that he was still the fragile, timid female he pretended to be.
"Thank you, Akos," Hao Yu whispered, his voice trembling. "I...I think I fainted. The sight of blood...it was too much for me."
Akos' eyes filled with understanding, his hand reaching out to brush a strand of hair from Hao Yu's face. "You're safe now," he said softly. "I won't let anything harm you."
Hao Yu's heart skipped a beat as he forced a smile, his mind screaming with the danger of his situation. He was trapped, caught in a web of lies and deceit. But he had to keep up the act, had to survive until he could find a way back home.
