Episode 4

At the garden behind the gallery

Amari explained to Xia in detail of what happened to her after the plane crashed , as they roam around the garden.

“That man is interesting. He appeared on the island right when you need him. Disappears with no trace at all. And then now he made a painting of you. Not to mention he saw the sad version of you no one alive ever witnessed, and he even painted it so that all of us can see it hahaha.” Xia said gradually from a serious tone to a teasing manner.

“Ha... ha... really funny. Who wouldn’t be sad when you get into a plane crash right when you’re rushing to go to a very important meeting?” Amari explained.

Xia smirked, “no Amari, i know you wouldn’t be sad because you missed a meeting. You would be furious though.”

She then changed into a more serious tone. “You were sad seeing the ocean because you remembered him didn’t you?”

Amari did not respond and just swept her hand through the water in the fountain.

Xia looked at her with concern and just changed the topic, “anyway, why don’t we go inside and look for this Galen dude?”

“Great idea, I need to let get him to take down that painting.”

Xia sighted, “you’re really addicted to being this mysterious non-social no pictures allowed boss now don’t you? Why don’t you just let this slide, it’s a painting anyway they won’t even think that its real.”

“Coming from the person who has a fake identity huh?” Amari raised her brow against Xia.

Amari plans to buy his painting. Firstly because she doesn’t want her full identity to be known to the public; only her name is known as the most successful woman in the country but people can’t put a face on that name. Because she hates being photographed let alone being painted without her consent. Anything that she had to do publicly were all done by her company representatives and spokes person. Even her secretary doesn’t show up on public. You can’t even find a single picture of her on the internet.

(The last pictures she had taken of herself was 5 years ago before she established her own career. Ever since then she never took pictures because she never felt the need to. But of course with strong aura and unique pretty appearance she can’t avoid people taking photographs of her especially when she’s outside. But once someone ever tries to take photos of her they were all immediately stopped by men that came out of nowhere.)

Then they went inside to have a look at other art works one after the other, and chatted with a few executives. Until finally they reached the edge of the gallery, Amari saw a tall man with broad shoulders and long black hair. She immediately felt excitement and rushed to him and tapped on his shoulder, “Hi! I saw your.....”

The man turned around to face her; it was not him.

“Hi may I help you miss?” The man answered.

Instantly the excitement on her face faded away. “Ow pardon me, I thought you were someone I know. Excuse me.” She responded and returned to Xia who was carefully watching not far behind.

Xia is trying to stop her giggles, “haha... that was embarrassing...”

As she is still talking Amari was shocked. Out of nowhere Galen suddenly appeared just two meters behind Xia. “It’s him.”

Xia turned around without delay. “Are sure?”

“Yep, this time I’m sure.” Amari took a step forward then hesitated for a second. And said to herself “well...this might be my last chance” and moved forward.

Right when she was about to get his attention, Galen received a call. “Hello?... what??... okay I’m already heading there.” He put his phone into his pocket and left in a rush, leaving Amari not disappointed anymore but dumbfounded.

“Huh... this is getting annoying. I might as well just let vince look for his contact information.” She utters.

Xia approached her from behind, “what THE Amari Lucine is gonna forcefully search for a hot guy’s contact info? That’s bad but that’s not the issue here, you’re always too prideful to be the first to contact anyone regardless of the purpose. So what made him so special?” She whispered to her ear in an interested and teasing manner.

“The way you view me is really concerning.” Amari replied.

“He’s the first man to catch your attention in years. I’ll sit back and watch the show. This is going to be fun.” They then turned around and went back to viewing the exhibit.

Galen arrived at the bar and approached a woman sitting at the bar counter alone. She has short strawberry pink hair showing her soft smooth kneck, wearing tight offshoulder white dress fitting into her luminouscurves but thin arms and waist. She looks like a real life barbie that came out of the box.

“You look wasted. Come, I’ll bring you home.” He said to her as soon as he sees her.

The woman looked at him from top to bottom, “ You look fancy tonight. But you don’t look as happy as you should be in that outfit. Come, sit lets have a few more drinks.”

Galen was hopeless so he agreed and sat beside her as she hands him a drink. “My painting was featured in the exhibit today, did you forget?”

“Ow yeah was that today? I’m sorry I wasn’t able to attend.”

Galen took the glass that she was supposed to drink, as a sign for her to stop drinking anymore. “Okay Soph, so what happened? Is it Victor again?”

Sophia leaned back to her chair with devastation written all over her face. “Victor has this woman that he’s been monitoring and protecting. And when I found out and asked about it he got so furious and shouted at me for going through his stuff and eavesdropping.”

“Look, just forget about him. In the first place you don’t even know a thing about him, not even his job.” Galen convinced her.

Sophia just smirked and brushed him off, “enough of that. You looked gloomy as well, when you came in. What happened at the exhibit?”

Galen took a whole shot and placed the glass on the table, “she attended the exhibit.”

Sophia leaned forward to hear more, “That’s great what did she say?”

“I didn’t approach her, she was with someone else. Not to mention he’s the CEO of an entertainment company. So i guess that’s it.”

She put her arms around his shoulder, “well that’s okay. You did say she looked quite intimidating. So she might not be friendly anyways... and so Let’s drink to that and leave already.”

“Cheers” they toasted their glasses drank simultaneously.
