the destruction of earth

A man was sitting down on a hill while looking up at the sky, normally the sky would be blue, but now it was covered in black clouds, these clouds were not normal, they were made of filth, the filth that humanity created.

"Oh how we have messed everything up." The man lets out a sad laugh.

"Right? Mother?" The man seemed to be talking to himself, but he was in fact talking to the planet, for some reason he could communicate with the planet he was born on.

This ability allowed him to predict, and prevent many natural disasters. But in the end, humanity used his ability to destroy the world while being safe from the consequences.

Until two years ago when humanity was in its best state.

Suddenly natural disasters became more common than seeing the stars, the planet was constantly being destroyed by humanity, and then it fell apart.

Everything went wrong, the cities humanity was so proud of were reduced to rubble, the things humanity had made to protect themselves could not stop their destruction.

And a few hours before the was planet fully gone, what was left of humanity escaped on their spaceships, though they might not even make it to another planet they could live on, they were desperate.

Some ships did not have the power to leave the planet and fell back down, but the rest managed to leave their home.

The man stood back up to look behind him, and he saw the spaceships leave the planet.

"Pieces of trash!" The man yelled.

"You actually think you can leave the consequences of your actions behind?!" as he yelled this a dark green glow appeared around his hands.

After swinging his hands down the spaceships stopped going up, instead they were being pulled back down, the ships they counted on to leave the planet were now going back.

When the people inside their spaceships looked outside they saw many massive vines holding on to their last hope of escaping.

But before they could fall the vines disappeared, and the spaceships continued going up, until they left the planet completely.

"I- I am sorry, mother. I am not strong enough to stop them." The man said with disappointment.

"Please do not be sad, I do not wish for them to stay here. Even though they destroyed everything, I do not hate them." A gentle voice came from the ground.

"Alright, thank you, Mother, thank you for everything." the man said with tears in his eyes.

Suddenly the man started to chant in an unknown language, the sounds he was making seemed like they should not be able to come from a human.

"No, stop, please do not do this!" The voice of the planet yelled at the man.

But for the first time in his life the man ignored what the planet was saying.

"Soul sacrifice!" As the man yelled these words he grabbed a sharp rock, and stabbed it through his heart.

"Sorry, Mother, but I will not let you end, I will be happy as long as my soul can keep you alive." With these words the last bit of life left his body.

After his body fell to the ground the world was being repaired, nature was taking back the planet, plants started to grow, the air became cleaner than ever.

Around the place the man gave his life for the planet a grave made of plants started to grow, with flowers blooming everywhere, as if the grave was for the god of nature.
