Episode 9

Hearing those words acted as a trigger in Can's mind. He tightened his grip on his glass, then left promptly, neglecting to bid farewell to the others.

He headed home, sat on his bed, and reflected on his life. Memories of his mother, his parents' arguments, and his own tears and pleas for them to stop fighting filled his mind.

Then, the remembrance of Thessaly's words fueled his anger - Just wait, you little fool.

With a holiday approaching, school was out for the next few days, and on Saturday, he found himself heading to a bar. He had been perched at the counter for a while when he spotted Thessaly and Daniele walking in. He surveyed Thessaly unabashedly from head to toe, earning a chuckle from Ilker.

"You seem to like what you see, brother," Ilker teased.

Can shook his head dismissively. "Back off, man, I'm not into the pedagogical type."

Their laughter filled the air, and soon Ilker approached the girls, inviting them over to join Can. After a bit of small talk, Ilker and Daniele promptly hit the dance floor, leaving Can and Thessaly alone in a secluded corner.

"Aren't you going to dance tonight?" Can asked, attempting to break the ice.

Thessaly shrugged. "I don't know. But you seem eager to watch me shake it, don't you?" she said with a laugh.

Can laughed heartily. "As if I'd waste my time on that!" he jested, playfully cupping her chin.

She grimaced at him, then ordered a drink, downing one after another. Can warned her she'd get drunk at this rate.

"Relax, I can handle myself," Thessaly assured him.

He watched her closely, noting as Ilker and Daniele made their exit.

Continuing her drinking spree, Thessaly decided to hit the dance floor. Before long, a muscular guy approached, and they were soon dancing in close quarters as Can observed. The guy tried to pull Thessaly to a more secluded area, insisting on a kiss, but she refused.

"Give it a rest, champ. No means no. Beat it!" Can told the man firmly, and the man retreated quickly.

Thessaly regarded Can with a look that mixed gratitude with something else. "I told you you'd had too much," he chided her.

"First time for everything, I guess. But then the prince comes to rescue the princess, how sweet," Thessaly teased.

Can sighed, "Let's go, Thessaly."

"Where to?"

"What do you mean, where? I'm taking you home."

She pouted. "I've never come home like this. My parents would kill me."

"Let's just go," Can said with urgency.

She followed him, and soon they were on the way to Can's place.

"This isn't the way to my house," Thessaly observed.

"I know. It's to mine," Can replied.

Thessaly laughed, and upon their arrival at his house, she nearly fell trying to get out of the car. He supported her, and they entered the living room. He seated her on the couch and started to remove her sandals.

"Your hands are big and soft, Can," she noted.

He met her gaze. "And very quick."

She laughed. "I can imagine."

"Come on, you're staying in my room tonight."

"And where will you be?"

"In the living room."

He helped her up the stairs, and she quickly tumbled into the bed and fell asleep.

Can lingered long in the living room, haunted by the memory of removing her sandals, her legs, her shape accentuated by the dress she wore that evening. He sighed, realizing his arousal, and cursed himself for being affected this way by her.

"Damn it! I shouldn't be feeling this for that girl," he muttered, agitatedly passing his hand over his trousers, but had to admit she was irresistibly attractive.

Shaking his head to dispel the inappropriate thoughts, he decided to take a shower.

In the morning, he knocked on the guest-room door several times but received no reply. He cautiously opened the door to discover Thessaly had already left.

He exhaled deeply and muttered to himself about lack of gratitude.

Throughout the following week, he taunted Thessaly during classes as much as possible, to the point where Daniele inquired if something had happened between them.

Thessaly sighed and recounted the night she had stayed at Can's place, which left Dani overjoyed.

"It was no big deal, Daniele," Thessaly said.

"Oh, come on! You don't know how to live life. Especially you, Tess! The man must be a powerhouse in bed," Daniele teased.

Thessaly just looked at her. "That may be, but we're not each other's type."

Daniele laughed off the denial.

That weekend, Thessaly joined her parents at a business event and was surprised to find Can there, even more so when he was celebrated as a VIP guest and honored for his work.

After sitting through numerous long-winded speeches about law, Thessaly wandered outside for a break.

As she strolled, absorbed in her own world, Can's voice surprised her. "Aren't you afraid of being out here alone?"

She turned to face him. "With a bodyguard like you? Never," she teased.

He frowned. "Bodyguard?"

"You can't stand the sight of me alone without following," she ribbed him.

Can laughed. "Don't be so conceited."

"What, would you run away if I kissed you right now?" Thessaly challenged.

"No way you'd be that crazy!"

But Thessaly closed the distance quickly, and they shared a kiss filled with passion.
