Episode 6

He boldly faces the girl, his expression unshielded, but soon is drawn away from his contemplations by Miguel's call.

"Ah, hello there, Mr. Miguel."

Miguel dispenses with pleasantries. "No need for formalities, Can!"

Can grins, and then Miguel turns to greet Ilker. They both offer Clara a peck on the cheek, and as Miguel introduces Thessaly, Ilker grins.

Ilker exclaims, "Thess!"

Miguel, a bit surprised, asks, "Oh, you two know each other?"

Ilker replies with a cheerful "Indeed, what a pleasant surprise!"

Can's smile carries a touch of sarcasm. "Thessaly is a most diligent student."

Thessaly's smile is strained as she firmly shakes the man's hand. Her grip seems to tickle him as he chuckles in response.

Miguel and the lads get wrapped up in a lengthy conversation that lasts until lunchtime, which for Thessaly feels like an ordeal, since she ends up seated directly in front of Can, who gazes at her throughout the meal.

Later, they all move to the living room, where amidst various discussions, Miguel expresses his yearning to revisit Italy.

Ilker asks, "But you've been there many times already, right?"

Miguel responds, "Yes, indeed. But I love it there. You've been as well, haven't you?"

Can asserts, "Yes, though my last trip was to Istanbul, Turkey."

Clara chimes in with enthusiasm, "Oh, wonderful. Thess always says her dream is to honeymoon in Cappadocia."

Can stifles a laugh and looks at her mockingly.

Thessaly catches Can's glance and quickly covers, claiming she has a headache and needs to go upstairs.

After Can and Ilker depart, Clara and Miguel remain in the living room conversing, while Thessaly is in her bedroom.

Daniele goes to see her friend, and upon entering the room, she finds Thessaly holding a photograph of Ozgur.

Daniele asks with concern, "Oh darling, are you still thinking about him?"

Thessaly sighs, "I loved him so much, Dani..."

Thessaly was 18 and Ozgur 21 when they started dating. Shortly afterward, Clara was diagnosed with cancer, which demanded much of Thessaly's support. Ozgur couldn't quite grasp the situation, and disputes ensued.

Thessaly insists, "I've told you, I can't today. My mom took a turn for the worse. I want to be with her!"

Ozgur laughs dismissively, "Again, Tess? Come on. I've lost count of how many times you've canceled on me for her."

Daniele gently takes the photo from her friend's hand, then asks, "Have you considered calling him?"

Thessaly quickly shakes her head, "Never! He failed to hold my hand when my heart was in the most pain."

Daniele looks at her friend empathetically, "That's the truth. But if you ever decide to give it another try, I'd support you."

Thessaly smiles, "Thank you."

Opting to stay in, they go down to dine with Clara and Miguel.

During dinner, Clara mentions that she met Ilker and Can:

Clara remarks, "Oh, Dani, today we met one of your professors and his friend, who also claims to know you."

Daniele freezes, and only then does Thessaly realize she forgot to share the news with her friend.

Thessaly explains, "Yes, friend, Professor Can and Ilker are my father's new business partners."
