Episode 4

At the hospital entrance, Mark paced back and forth, unsure of what he would do when he saw his wife. He had spent three years searching for her without success, and now, out of the blue, she had called his grandfather as if nothing had happened.

He suddenly remembered that call and, taking out his cell phone, dialed her number once again. Over the years, he had called her countless times, always with the same result: the phone was turned off or out of coverage. But this time it was different. The call connected on the first ring. That simple sound made his body tremble. He didn't understand why he was reacting like this, but the ringtone of a cell phone not far from him caught his attention.

He recognized that tone. Turning around, he saw her.

Vivian had just gotten out of the car when the cell phone rang. Unaware that Mark was in front of her, she took out her mobile and, seeing the caller ID, hung up immediately. When she looked up and noticed Mark's intense gaze, her expression changed. Without a word, she resumed her elegant demeanor and began to walk towards the medical center.

Mark also began to walk towards her. Standing face to face, he said:

"I see you finally deign to appear..."

He didn't get to finish the sentence when Vivian's security team stepped in, surprising him. But she quickly stopped them.

"Ivan, calm down. He's an old acquaintance."

Mark frowned and retorted:

"Acquaintance? I'm your husband, damn it! And I'd like to know where the hell you've been all this time..."

Vivian, seeing Mark's agitated state and the tension of her men, replied coldly:

"Mr. Lauren, I ask you to calm down. This is not the time or place to discuss these issues. You are right, we need to talk, but not now. The reason for my visit is Mr. Francisco. If you wish to speak with me, it will have to be tomorrow. My schedule is full, and I have no time to waste."

She took a card from her handbag and extended it to him.

"This is my assistant's number. Schedule an appointment and I'll be there. Now, if you'll excuse me..."

She tried to continue on her way, but Mark, forgetting for a moment the presence of the bodyguards, tried to grab her arm. Immediately, Ivan stopped him firmly.

"Sir, you better calm down, or I will be forced to use force."

Mark shook himself free and shouted:

"Stay out of this! This is between my wife and me!"

Vivian stopped, handed her cell phone to one of her custodians and, without looking back, ordered:

"Give him this. I don't need it anymore."

She looked directly at Mark and added coldly:

"I already have all the evidence I needed. I wasn't sure if we were still married, but now that I know we are... I'm informing you that I want a divorce. We can do it the easy way or the hard way. It's up to you. On that phone is some of the evidence I need to destroy you. I didn't come here to fight, but don't provoke me, Mr. Lauren. I'm not the woman you knew anymore."

Mark received the cell phone. Checking the gallery, he found all kinds of photos and videos of him with Camila: walks, dinners, kisses and intimate material that even he didn't know existed. He had no time to react; Vivian had already left for Mr. Francisco Lauren's room.

Once alone with her men, Vivian warned them:

"You better not say a word about this to my family. I know they'll worry, but I can handle him on my own."

Ivan, clearly upset, replied:

"Miss, we can't do that..."

"Ivan, I thought we were friends. Do you want me to treat you like before again? It would be very easy for me to escape your surveillance here. I know this city like the back of my hand..."

Ivan sighed and addressed the rest of the team.

"You heard her. Not a word about what happened."

Vivian smiled satisfied, and upon reaching the elevator, they went up to the third floor, where Mr. Lauren was.

Five men accompanied her to the room. Upon arriving, she stopped in front of the door.

"I'll be fine. I'll go in alone."

She knocked softly and, upon entering, barely saw Francisco before practically running into his arms. He just opened them and, feeling the warmth of her embrace, murmured affectionately:

"Ungrateful little girl... I had to get sick for you to come and see me..."

"There, there, Grandpa... I'm here now."

Francisco smiled, holding her tighter.

"That's the most important thing."

After a few seconds, they separated. Mr. Lauren looked at her with tenderness, but also with curiosity.

"Very well... Tell me everything. Where were you? How have you been? Why did you leave? Are you coming back?"

"Wow, wow, wow... Easy, Grandpa. Slow down. I'll tell you everything, but I don't want you to get upset, okay?"

Francisco nodded. Vivian took a deep breath and said:

"Very well... Where do I start?"
